      Honestly I really think new grads in long term care facilities should get at least 2 weeks. I only got 3 days, so I know what you mean by them rushing you. The thing is you don’t really learn how to do things until your actually doing the job 1-2 months. Hopefully your facility has people around to reach out to if you have questions while on duty.

    $1873 bi weekly is outrageous for an LPN.. i make $1200 net income every week as a CNA on long Island and thats working 60 hours...
    Leave the city and come to Long Island...LPN pay way more here than the city...

    • @rachela23
      @rachela23  Год назад +2

      That’s wonderful. I’ll leave once I’m finished with my rn. My union pays for my school and I’m happy with the pay considering I don’t do overtime. I don’t really want to put the strain on my body to do 60hrs a week.

    • @kingkweku9761

      @@rachela23 oh yes, joining the union was a very good idea, great benefits and they help you keep your job if theres any BS!! they will try fix issues and still help you keep your job!.
      very productive and resourceful, as they definitely do help alot!!!..no doubt!..
      I'm not a union member currently but I'm planning to join in the future when I become an LPN or RN.
      But definitely look into jobs on long island(suffolk and Nassau), i prefer Suffolk cos i reside here with my family and there are more elderly clients in Nassau and suffolk than the city and more help is needed here for senior citizens.. suffolk county if im not mistaken, has the second highest veteran population in any county in the entire country, so there's more demand for healthcare workers....Nassau is closer to Queens and may sometimes have closer pay rates to the city, depending on the facility... but yet still, rates are wayyy better than the 5 boroughs and work is more descent, less load, less crowd and less stressful in both counties...And you will be surprised how much you will be making compared to the 5 Boroughs....I heard uptown and Westchester County are good too...but I can only speak for Long Island in comparison to the city....
      Most importantly Quality of life is better and it's less crowd, less competition and more family oriented compared to the city life...
      And im just a CNA/HHA for now, so I definitely need to work more hours to get more money based on my family expenses...but everyone is different and you definitely do not need to work 60 hours on long Island as a LPN or RN to make a descent salary....it's a higher position so the pay is definitely higher, so you do not need to do crazy hours at all...My sis became an NP from an RN position few years ago and shes doing great here!!!...and many friends I know are doing great on long island, I personaly know HHA's and CNA's like myself..who leave their homes in the city to do live-ins or work periodicaly on long island for weeks/months because of the wage increase, some even prefer to commute everyday, just because the salary is better and a preferred working environment...facts!!!!
      All you have to do, is just browse through jobs on the island and check what works best for you....and put God first in all things, build a close relationship with God and He will open more doors for you, like HE did for me and HE keep doing in my life and my family..stay blessed sis..
