- The AJ6 have a special place in the history of the Jordan brand, because in addition to being the sneakers that His Majesty used to win his first NBA championship, they were also responsible for rekindling the furor for creations inspired by the legendary player.
The Air Jordan 6, first released in 1991, represents a fundamental piece in the evolution of basketball shoes and sneaker culture. Designed by the legendary Tinker Hatfield, these iconic sneakers witnessed momentous moments in Michael Jordan's career and have become a timeless style icon.
Inspired by MJ's German sports car, the Air Jordan 6 evoked speed and style. Tinker Hatfield's architectural instinct was evident from the sole to the laces with its locking clip, with elegant details such as a neoprene sleeve, a translucent rubber sole, the visible Air unit and a heel tab inspired by the spoiler of a car, so it was a pair as bold as it was innovative.
The Air Jordan 6 “Yellow Ocher” combines white, yellow ocher and black, recalling the beloved “Carmine” pattern. This version adopts the iconic design with layers of white leather and yellow suede on the side panels, toe box, lace closures, heel tab section and tongue overlay. To add depth, black highlights the tongue, inner lining, Jumpman logo, as well as the heel spoilers and midsole. A crisp white midsole crowns the design, harmonizing with the icy translucent outsole that features a subtle Jumpman logo underfoot.
