The Harley detachable trunk kit comes with signals to relocate onto the back of your saddlebags and we show you how to do this in the above video. However, we prefer to go with these Kuryakyn LED Insert Lights for a cleaner look.

VIDEO DETAILS: Want to install a detachable trunk system on your 2014 & newer Harley-Davidson Electra Glide or Road Glide Ultra? That way you can strip the bike down when necessary to look more like a Street Glide or Road Glide. You'll need to consider rear signal relocation and we're here to help! On 2014 & newer Harley Ultras the signals are built into the trunk system. So, when you remove it you'll be w/o signals unless you mount some secondary relocated signals.
These Kuryakyn LED Insert Lights are also just very nice additional signals/taillights/brake lights in combination with your current stock trunk lights.

you never did show where the other end of the new plug plugs in at. just the extended end plug. Need help
Can the be used with the trunk?
I have a 21 roadglide limited and these lights wont work because I have air ride tank in the way. Im trying to find out whether or not the new Kuryakyn tracer inserts will work. I was hoping they're more shallow or surface mount? I can't find dimensions anywhefe.
What licenses plate mount is that?
Can you run these and the HD lights that you stick onto the bags? I have the sticky one's and they work but I don't like that voids that these in the video clean up.
+1 on the "What License Plate Mount is That" question...and did you have to drill into your fender to mount it???

Great video Ryan. I installed these lights and I don’t want to be the a-hole but man was I was disappointed. Installed on a 2014 ultra limited. They were very very dim compared to the trunk and brake lights. Many people riding behind me asking why they were so dim. Ended up getting custom dynamics and they were perfect. Now all light looks the same in brightness etc.. I’m simply telling you my experience. Maybe I had 2 bad lights?

Got a question! I have a 2015 fat bob I want to install hard saddle bags with the easy brackets. I know I will have to remove the rear stock turn signals. I really want to keep the same rear look. I have tried to look for an integrated brake/turn signal but no luck lol. My other thought was do they make a rear turn signal light that will fit on the rear fender? I also can't find what the width is of the easy bracket system either and that would be a big help then knowing that measurement if they make turn signal lights small enough. Any thoughts would be great? Thanks I really enjoy watching your videos!
Robert, thanks for watching. Unfortunately we do not have any experience with the easy bracket system. I would give them a call if you are looking at the product and run the question by them. Also check out the online stores you might find what you are looking for with the lighting. We like the products from www.ciro3d.com RK from LAB.
I already have the Harley Davidson saddle bag lights that stick to the saddle bags. Can I run these as well? Will I have to get a splitter or something like that?

Can the lights be added if the trunk stays on the bike? Have the lights as something to block the gap.

I know this is an older video but I'm looking at buying the same bike. when you removed the trunk did the speakers stop working? a friend removed his from his road glide and had that happen. if so, what did you do to solve that?
The kit to make the truck detachable came with the necessary adapters. The speakers work just fine when the trunk is put on.

Hey Ryan, will these Kuryakyn's also work with the Ciro 3D's bag blades and the modulator?
I think you’d run into a problem w/ the wiring between Ciro bag blades and Kuryakyn filler panel lights. Not sure. Haven’t tried it. May have to make alterations.
Will this work on 09 eletraglide
I'd get ahold of Kuryakyn direct and ask them to be certain.
Seem very dim ?
They don't seem near as bright as the stock lights...?

You guys are really good at showing what we need to do but stop advertising yourself so much. I actually got annoying do it in the first of the show perfectly but continuing I don’t even even wanna watch a show anymore or your page.
LEDs are way too dim for the price.
