- Minecraft SOS continues!
In today's episode, the dig is interrupted by the need to save Jimmy Solidarity's life - but we gain a new worker in the process! After an oddly satisfying mining time lapse, I explain why I'm changing my mining strategy and digging out the area chunk by chunk. We establish a new chunk grid for choosing where to mine, dig out a central chunk for our beacon, and MythicalSausage drops by to earn the a Fate Coin for the Caves & Cliffs advancement.
Minecraft SOS is a hardcore Mineraft server with a twist: anyone who dies can be revived within 24 hours using a Fate Coin. If the timer counts down to zero, they're lost forever and can never respawn! But the supply of coins is limited, and additional coins are only rewarded for completing challenges and difficult advancements...

Thanks for watching episode 3! Here are some episode notes:
- The revival cost doesn't increase each time you die, it's just going to increase gradually over the course of the series.
- My Twitch chat suggested writing 'like and subscribe' on one layer for the time lapse.
- Two layers didn't make it into the time lapse because I just mined them as fast as possible and it didn't look as pretty as making deliberate patterns.
- Half the server came to the dig at the end of my Twitch stream yesterday to get the 'Caves & Cliffs' fate coin. Oli was the only one to successfully water bucket clutch. Jimmy and Mogswamp both took another death attempting it.
i like the idea of the build and the music of the timelaps reminds me for the "good old times" that never come back for me 😪
Also the nice idea at 2:20 is very cool.

The Jimmy rescue mission feels like a saturday cartoon plot. "Oh no! Our friend is trapped in a form of a dog and if we don't rewive him in 24 hours he will stay like this forever! We have to make a pot to save him!" xD
That's basically the vibe of the whole death mechanic lol. It basically becomes an episode of Lassie

I'm only 11 mins in, but before I forget I have to say I love the idea of the "tomb of the unknown pickaxe" for the broken ones.
Fun fact: a grave without a body (or pickaxe) is called a cenotaph!

Hi Pix! If I could make a suggestion, how about using pots instead of chests to bury the tools? Grecorroman cultures used amphorae to bury their dead some times and it would look super cool with the grave markers! :D
Definitely keep all the materials you've mined. Seeing your stats is cool but, having all those chests really shows how much time and effort you've put into this project. Very excited to see what becomes of this build 😊

That first time lapse was just beautiful, a joy to watch and listen to.
There is something very cool about watching the caves slowly get exposed
The editing on this series so far is so good! the intro, and then the 2 points of view for the caves and cliffs advancement, the care for detail is really showing :)
That intro's got to be one of the most satisfying timelapses ever, i love it! And I love how creative the monuments are, it's making me want to make one in my world too

I really highly recommend flooding the bottom of the chunks you dig out instead of just putting down slabs. Fall-proof it for yourself. Loving the videos by the way.
I know minecrafters often worry that people will get bored with someone working on just the one project for too long, so they hop around doing a bunch of different stuff to break it up, but that's REally not a problem for me, and i'm sure for many of your viewers. Please don't feel pressured to swap to different projects or to change this one to be shorter. If you decide you want something less strenuous of course do what you feel is best, but I LOVE seeing your dedication to this one long project!
Love the timelapse! I liked seeing day and night in the timelapse, it made me realise digging one layer out takes 2 minecraft days!!

Aaaa I love the timelapse at the start so much!!! The same music from the intro, which is so amazing and mysterious and cool, and the fact that you cut the land up in cool and interesting patterns even though it would take less time to carve it out but you put in the extra effort to make this an interesting timelapse that shows just how much work you put in while still being fun and satisfying to watch without you having to speed it up and the fact that removing the "like and sub" message was timed to the music and all the detail like that!!!! :D :D :D
And those tool graves are all so cool and creative!!! And the Caves and Cliffs advancement is terrifying on Hardcore, that was epic!!! The slow motion shaders shots of you breaking the shriekers in the Deep Dark are beautiful! I love your intro/outro/theme music for this series so much!!!

This might have been suggested already, but with the pillars in the grave, it would look cool if the pillars were represented by the blocks the tools dig up, like sandstone for the shovels (while yes sandstone is mined w a pick the sand is mined by a shovel), woods for an axe, maybe food or sculk or smth for the hoe etc

Eek my tummy did somersaults it is so funny even in games you get scared of heights, and I am so happy you keep the blocks you dig out I have to keep everything I can not get rid of it, one time I left chests in my rail tunnel that was miles long in alcoves because I could not bring myself to let it de -spawn 😊

Naturally Jimmy had to make up for not being the frirst person to die on the server, so he had to become the person with the most deaths. What are the odds that he's going to be the first out of the series, considering minecraft hardcore is most definitely not his strong suit.
