    Like always: master class from a master builder! Awesome job Lou! I’m following your builds a couple of years and every week you teach me another method of build,paint or scratch build! Many many thanks! Keep the good work going!👍

    Awesome. Have you seen the Jupiter 2 build by a guy named Chris? He even put glowing lights in the wall columns or bulkheads he had to scratch build them and.

    Thank you Lou for what you do. I look forward to your weekly videos, I watched and re-watched all your vids while I was fighting my cancer, you made my tedious days seem like mere hours. Thank you again, and please keep up the awesome work that you do. P.S. I have bought a few of you masks, one in particular is your Jupiter masks.

    Paragrafix landing gear is smaller than the kit. I believe the paragrafix version was originally for the 1/35th scale 16" Jupiter 2. The Mobius box says it's scale is also 1/35th but has an 18" diameter. So which one is truly 1/35th? Who knows?

    I have got this kit and will be getting the light kit and masks to go with it as I have been too daunted by lighting till now. Doing some smaller kits first as only just back into modelling and skills not up to scratch but watching Lou gives me more confidence to tackle it next.

    I found a dremel kit with different sized little chicks in it. Haven’t used it yet but I will bet that monkey will now be able to domduty as a powered pin vice and also hold a bit as big as 3/16 or so. Saves going after the big Royobi. Wallly World, 6 bucks I think.

    The Jupiter 2, I love it!!! I was hoping this was going to be the next project. I have one of these still in the box so this build will be a great guide for me. In fact, this is probably my favorite sci-fi ship of all time and favorite unbuilt kit. I'm glad to see you have a mask kit for the Jupiter 2 that will make the floor and wall details so much easier. I don't have the lighting kit but I see what a big difference it makes to the overall appearance. I should invest in that and make it look great.

    • @rogerstephens2749
      @rogerstephens2749 3 года назад

      I've used the lighting kit and like Lou said its worth it. Its easy to install and looks awesome. I made my Jupiter 2 top removable so I can look at the interior sometimes. But you can also take pictures if you seal it up

      Hi I have this kit , I've not built it yet i still need to purchase the lighting and get those little pegs or clamps that Lou is using here .. it's quite and expensive kit so i dont want to make any mistakes, when i come to build it ... just a note i have already a robot B9 to go inside it when its built , currently its inside the module that I built ..

  • @iangreen4572
    @iangreen4572 3 года назад

    Maybe there is a way to make the top part removable so you can see inside, for instance cutting around where the roof meets the top of the wall.

  • @MrChief101

    As usual, I have to stand back, with a squirmed lip of begrudged admiration, at just how much you accomplish in one week. I love the plug-n-play fusion cores except for one thing. To a man they all use cool-white LEDs. I could understand it 15-20 years ago but not now. The studio model (and set) used incandescents. Warm-white LEDs are readily available and so why has there been no change?
    Fine. Be that way.
    In the meantime, it is a good thing to see you woosh through this process. I am not sure I ever want to actually build the 18" but I am pretty sure of the 12"-- it's a size thing.
    I note that you seem to think we (I) am disturbed somehow about the background noise of your vinyl cutter. It means Aztek Dummy eats this month. Which is good.

    • @aztekdummy
      @aztekdummy  3 года назад

      mostly I agree with you. when I built my Original J2 , I had a core made with alternating warm and cool bulbs. If i had to choose only one, I'd go cool. I just think the warms can be too yellow.

    • @MrChief101
      @MrChief101 3 года назад

      @@aztekdummy Now you have more choice. I pick 3500K for my kits. The same color temperature as tungsten filament bulbs. I like the thought of alternating white colors.

    Why not cut the roof and add clear plastic roof

  • @The_Jupiter2_Mission
    @The_Jupiter2_Mission 3 года назад

    An issue with the fusion core lighting kit section is the the sequence is wrong. It basically has every second LED lighted as it 'spins'.
    The original ship had much bigger gaps between the lighted sections of the fusion core as it 'spun'.
    The tenacontrol fusion core is much more accurate.

    • @aztekdummy
      @aztekdummy  3 года назад +1

      david, don't be that guy. take the stock lighting as it is. just like the bussard collectors on the Enterprise, there are different patterns depending on the speed of the lights vs. the shutter speed of the cameras and full sized set vs. miniature
      It works, it spins, and it's unmistakably the Jupiter 2. anything else is just rivet counting

    • @The_Jupiter2_Mission
      @The_Jupiter2_Mission 3 года назад

      @@aztekdummy Yes, but as the lighting kit is expensive, and as we know, fans can be very picky about these things. I do think it is good to know that there are other fusion cores that are more accurate. Fans should have these options if they want to go down that path.
      You are right that most won't care, but you will have fans like myself who have the kits and think, hang on....this is not quite right...for me.
      That said, the speed with which you are putting it together is remarkable.

  • @ckm3499

    I got lost when you "Frosted" the clear part of the fusion core. Was that to eliminate glare and remove the plastic look of the lighting?

    • @aztekdummy
