இறைவி also had the same Concept :
Kamalini, Anjali, Vadivukkarasi - all 3 of them feel be-littled by their husbands.
They don't abuse them with words or behaviour. But by their aloofness to their feelings (உதாசீனம்).
Vadivukkarasi's Cerebral artery bursts & goes into Coma.
    Kamalini breaks up.
Anjali goes her own way with the baby.
The movie was far ahead of its time.

I had the privilege of watching this movie today and immediately came on here to see this intelligent conversation. Brilliant work by the Director and the lead actor. What an amazing movie - an everyday story seen in a different light to what our society is used to. Loved seeing the struggles of Arun and Divya on accepting the end of an incompatible relationship. While Arun had toxic traits, he wasn't a bad guy, and while Divya was at the receiving end of the toxic behaviour, she too had communication flaws and issues establishing boundaries, I felt. Would love to see more such thought provoking movies!

Arun talking about quitting after the last cigarette and saying that he doesnt have to prove to her I think surely deserves claps in the sense that it marks the birth of the New Arun, the one who isn't doing the right thing with a motive of making someone else happy but out of self realisation. It is that Arun we see owning a cafe and fully mature, kind and respectful. Great movie and a Great conversation with the actor and the director.

It’s a great movie and very well made and performed. The toxic part of the movie is very well handled and finally gave a proper ending 👏🏼 It’s not easy to give up amidst the flaws but finally the male character let go of his partner with right note.
Just 2 concerns I felt from the movie… when the female character is forced to hide things from his partner because that would create problems if known to her partner, there could have been one scene in the movie where the female character discussed with her partner that his misunderstanding is starting to make her think about hiding stuffs from him. So her hiding thing could have been properly justified. Now there are chances for people in relationships to think it is simply justified to hide stuffs from their partners if they think it would create problems. It’s not healthy for the relationship. The partners have to engage in proper/open discussion to keep the relationship healthy.
The 2nd concern is not about what is done in the movie, but people watching this movie shouldn’t misunderstand that tolerating is not required in relationships. Tolerating to justified limits is always required in any generation.

39:00 great question sudhir sir crctana question, I felt the same, dhivya thapana decision edukathathu than arun mistakes society la sollum, if divya had some relationship in office, all arun did will be right,
From my personal experience I was almost arun at a time, but she really had a relationship, which really broke me at that time till now, I really hated girls start to stereotype every girl "ellam ponnungalum ipdi than" Then after sometime I realized if someone did mistake not everyone does the same it really took years to understand,
But divya character la reality illa, reality iruntha indha movie totally heated discussiona maari irukum which is reality.

In today's society, there seems to be an abundance of men willing to support women in any situation, even when a woman finds herself in a difficult state, there's always a man willing to stand by her. However, the same support system doesn't seem to exist for men. Initially, in relationships, men often invest significant time and resources, making their partner the center of their world, particularly if they are truly in love. But when reality sets in, many women excel in their studies and careers, often finding someone else who is economically better off to support them in their current state. Meanwhile, many men are left in the same position they started in, feeling alone and unsupported.
While Arun's micro-aggressions are certainly wrong, many men can relate to his feelings of insecurity. Personally, I admired Divya, but couldn't help but wonder what it would be like if Arun had someone like Yamini from "Mayakkam Enna" or Bommi from "Soorarai Pottru" by his side, offering him assurance and support during tough times. It's a humorous thought, but it underscores the importance of support and companionship in relationships.

    • @The_wall_flower
      @The_wall_flower 4 месяца назад +14

So then what about all the Yaminis… what about how they feel. I see this as coming from a standpoint of glorifying the sacrifices that women make and failing to look at them as fellow human beings with their own emotions and feelings.

@@The_wall_flowerits not just dhivya shld sacrifice...in a relationship any of one is going through a tough phase..one shd stand by him/her instead of avoiding it. Relationship is all about growing together

you are equating the character arun with his father.. and you are so clear that the both are similar kind of personality.. but for me i can just equate divya and arun's father as similar personalities...not just you guys but so many of people glorify divya's character.. my question is in a civilized society will any son a accept his mom partying and touring with a random guy or a father accept his daughter partying and touring with a random guy.. in that same sense how can a guy accept a gal who has comfort in partying and touring with a random guy.. how do you value commitment between a couple.. it is not just about infidelity when it comes to relationship.. say a gal spends time chit chats with 10 guys a day we assume without sex.. finally when she comes to meet her guy she will be dry and her mind will be cherishing the time she had spent with the 10 guys even while she is now with the guy she loves.. here i am not gender specific.. i mean for both gender.. 10 peru kita kuthadichutu final enna dash ku oru lover.. life full aa kuthadichute poyiravendiyathu thana.. i really respect the character arun.. let us assume arun goes around with a set of girls will divya accept him.. by any chance if she accepts then katayam athu kuthadi kudumbam than.. arun rendu pombala oda sutha poiruvaru.. divya rendu ambala oda sutha poiruvanga.. apa pillaiga therula unga language la joint adichutu irukanuma..kindly comment

Trust is the key . If Divya is a mature lady , Arun should not control her actions like a kid . Arun has warned her multiple times , and started reacting violently . He is not able to control his emotions and put her as the major emotional pillar in his life .
After warning , he should have been silent and assume she will behave accordingly . Even if she lies , Arun should ignore .

I feel as tho the director was solely focused on the trauma & abusiveness of male character, while ignoring & glorifying the feminine one. Women are toxic, manipulative in their own way.
