I cannot believe he wasn’t drafted. Welcome to the Vikings.

Former Army player, Chiefs fan, Nebraska native here. It's an absolute crime that Andre Carter did not get drafted and a dereliction of competence on the part of these NFL teams. You guys in Minnesota got an absolute steal. If you want a top-level sample of his abilities, go back and watch his film from 2021 at Wisconsin, he made both of those tackles look pedestrian. You guys stole one, congrats.

One of the Vikings best draft pick ups.

I know hw didn't have a good combine and his RAS scores were not great but his reading of the play is first class. To go undrafted is a shocker. I think the Vikings hit a home run picking him up.

His game (as it currently is) reminds me of Chris Doleman coming out of University of Pittsburgh. He has a lot of development to do and needs to get into the Vikings' weight programme straight away, but if he can work with Danielle Hunter and mimic his weight room ethic then he will be fine.

Good reason to keep Hunter. Have a hunch he will be traded though

@@taytrax9737 I believe Hunter will be in Minnesota for several years to come. I'm guessing they need to wait until after June 1st when the situation with Cook has been resolved. I still won't be overly shocked if the 49ers make a move for Cousins with Lance having had another month in his recovery. With Jefferson also due a deserved expensive contract extension, I don't see how the Vikings can afford to remain competitive without a starting QB on a rookie contract for at least the next two seasons.
Then again... I'm almost certainly wrong.

@@blowfishes I hope they can work out a deal with Hunter. I gotta say I am skeptical about Lance. Almost think we’d be better off mortgaging our future and trading a few players for 2024 draft capitol. Man, could drive myself crazy with all the “what ifs” guess we’ll just have to wait and see.

Congress changed the policy. So anyone prior to June of 2021 can’t go. Plus this is free advertising. So I hope the 2019 policy comes back. It’s going to help these academies going foward.

In lieu of nil deals, I would like to see an opt out waiver for high end atheletes. The last thing the military needs r officers that don’t want to be there. I just don’t think the army gets much of an roi for having him come in as a junior officer in his second career at 28 years old.

Wow, what a faceplant this was. Not drafted. He gave up his military career as a West Point grad and an all American football player. I hope he doesn’t suffer the typical injuries nfl players often get. He could really have a wonderful career in the army. I can only imagine how the young enlisted would idolize him.
