their new album just came out today. I've teared up occasionally while listening to music, but the final song, the title track "Kin" really got to me. I know a lot of people don't like this because it's not like old Whitechapel, it has clean vocals. but bands evolve. and the story telling Whitechapel is doing with this album and The Valley.. I don't have words to describe it.
absolutely. the title track killed me. I have always loved Whitechapel, and to be honest, I have always preferred the brutally heavy stuff. But, man, this album..... it is so fucking good. When I heard the title track, that shook me. As much as I loved the old brutal stuff, I gotta admit, this is my new favorite Whitechapel album.
I couldn't agree more. Their heavy stuff got me into the band (I believe 'The Saw Is the Law' was first track I heard by them). Being a fan of the band means that you not just acknowledge, but accept, their maturity and any musical changes; otherwise you're just a fan of a music genre. These last two albums they have released have been just AMAZING. Phil's lyrical release of his life problems have been so damn powerful, and the band has found a way to musically embrace that. While I still enjoy their heavier music, I am loving these last two albums!
If your next take on Whitechapel is A Bloodsoaked Symphony you will cry for sure. Phil, the singer, tries to resurrect both his parents who died in his teenage years for real. So yeah! Happy Birthday Poppa
Nah man, I saw them live and cried at least twice. Their past 2 albums came out as my dad was getting closer to dying, and their music has helped me so much in processing and dealing with that. Once he did pass, these songs meant so goddamn much to me. Didn’t stop me from fuckin it up in the pit tho, lol. And I hear ya about the mental illness. Not that I’m a parent, but from the kids perspective. Even with people around in my life willing to support me, it can sometimes feel like they aren’t there. What is true isn’t always what you feel
This song had deep emotions! Hard not to feel something for the music! Can really hear the hurt and sadness in the song! Brought tears to my eyes as well beautiful song! Great job Whitechapel! Great Reaction my man!
Phil pulling on all the heartstrings in this one. Man, what a powerful song and its not just the vocals. Everything about this song just rips your heart out.
Its alright to be vulnerable and its nice to see you’re brave enough to share it with us in this reaction video. Hope all goes well for you, great song and reaction nonetheless Whitechapel indeed surprised me on this one too
Happy birthday my friend! My birthday was yesterday! Now I am pround 57, with the mind and the energy of a 25 year old. Sending you a big hug, blessed be. Greetings from Guatemala.
I appreciate your thoughts on the song, my wife has mental illness and this song resonates all too well. You should check out any song off of imminence album turn the light on and focus on the lyrics if you enjoyed this one.
Music works in mysterious ways, man. I lost my dad a couple years back too, this albums helped me process that. Hope you’re doing better mate, even if that pain never really goes away. Keep on keeping on.
Wait a minute you think he looks like paul walker??? Um no dude try Jensen Ackles look at blood soak symphony he has the blacked out eyes like supernatural in that one. 😂
My very first ever Whitechapel show. I cried in the pit and people held me. Metal are family. We always care.

God man, I still can’t make it through that track without tearing up. Their past two albums are so special to me

It’s amazing to see Phil grow since the somatic defilement not only as a vocalist but as a lyricist

I’m actually gonna double down on this one, you need to check out chasing shadows/alleviate by imminence it was just released
Strong storytelling. And great reaction from you. Its not easy watching a loved one struggle. And knowing you cant take their pain away…
I feel you brother. Being the father of a daughter is an entire thing (for lack of ability to put this eloquently). Happy Birthday!
I never thought a deathcore album could make me cry. But this album hit me so hard. I lost my dad may 1st 2020. I still struggle
I hope you are ok mate

Happy birthday! Great reaction as always and thank you for being open about mental illness. ^_^

Happy birthday and nice review.
Happy late birthday! 🤘
Beautiful reaction
You need to react to the title track Kin..it's so intense.
Just wait for the title track it’s even more emotional
You should check out a song called "One Last Goodbye" by Anathema on the Hindsight CD.....Absolutely GUTTING....
This Is Exile age is gone. Now everybody's going to cry and be emotional while listening to them. Whitechapel will soon be the new Katatonia.
He looks more like Dean Winchester
Bring Me Home should be your next one, it’ll get the water works going for sure lol
I wonder how many of their "fans" are going to say they suck now and/or they sold out because of the clean vocals.
um I loved the old stuff and LOVE the new stuff..... there is room in the metal world for both I think
I thought he looks more like dean from supernatural though
True as hell
Before the vid: oh no, he’s gonna be crying on his birthday….
I’d love to see your reaction to Bring Me The Horizon’s music. I especially like a song called Dear Diary from their newest EP!
Wait a minute you think he looks like paul walker??? Um no dude try Jensen Ackles look at blood soak symphony he has the blacked out eyes like supernatural in that one. 😂
