My 'reaction' about "Death Note". My journey with EOP: At first, back in late 2017 or maybe early 2018, I had mixed feelings of the band. I was then and still am a huge TOOL fan ever since "Sober" which as we all know, is nothing like EOP. Researching the band on YT, I watched "Mask" and was immediately hooked - it started a near-obsession. Margarita had a very raw yet powerful and confident presence about her. I needed more. After meeting her, Dave, John, and Nick back in late 2018 - seeing them perform live at a very small venue in LA - I knew then that EOP had a HUGE future. I offered and helped them load their van - I think it was Nick's (?) trying to get to know them. During that show, I attempted to record parts of it in hopes of posting one of their songs as a "live" video (with Margarita's permission of course). That attempt was complete failure on my end. It was hugely disappointing for me and my aspirations as a "photographer" back then. Despite my enormous failure, I hounded Margarita on FB offering pictures of the band - pro bono. I simply wanted to help them in any way possible. Of course, seeing such huge potential in them, I knew it could help me but that was - and never will be - the goal. I had a full-time job deeply rooted in the semiconductor industry as an optics specialist and now own a fabrication business out in Arizona. Months later, after that LA show, I received a message from Margarita; "Do you want to go to Iceland with us to help film "Face Of Fear?" (we did the aerial cinematography and some of the ground shots). Since that amazing experience in Iceland, my wife and I have worked with EOP at varying levels over the years on "Universe" and most notably, (for us) co-directing with Margarita and shooting "Fire". We spent some time with them during "The Unknown" which was my favorite EOP song until "Death Note" was released. At first, I 'liked' it... After three days of non-stop looping, I'm now convinced that "Death Note" is a new masterpiece - it will be realized years from now (opinion). There are only about five songs [ from any artist ] that I can loop for literally days or sometimes even weeks on end. "Death Note" made that list. Margarita is a highly creative genius in my mind and a dear friend. I love her as the sister I never had. She is also one of the nicest people I know - hands down. I love this band! Yes, I am biased, but also very honest with myself about it. EOP is so under-rated in my very obviously biased opinion. I hope you all can appreciate the raw talent coming from EOP. I know I do.
Thank you so very much!!!
