      @@jjalkman1999Hartnett has been making films for 25 years, at least one a year. When he was the hot commodity at 22, studios tried to create a heartthrob persona he didn’t want. When his contract expired he walked out of the limelight and into independent films. There can’t be a “comeback” because he never stopped working. He preferred being in the independent film industry rather than the studio one. Now that he’s matured, he’s accepting roles that show his versatility instead of his heartthrob good looks.

    I love the body positioning in this scene with how Richie is against the wall and frank gradually closes in, when he realises Richie has his guard up he backs off only to try and close the gap when bringing up the wedding, as if he is holding dominance over Richie.

      It’s the tight quarters. Ritchie’s only moves is to angle out and pretty much leave. Otherwise he walks right into Josh who’s too close for comfort or into his house which is a no-no. Then Josh actually touches him which Ritchie wants no parts in lol.

      @BigMac8000 18 дней назад +1

      There's no map for this kind of stuff. You're a stepdad, you're in love with a family and it's weird as hell. You're working a real job, doing all the work as a father to commit to a lifestyle.
      But you get tired of waiting in backrooms and avoiding the situation. You're not sure if your life is your own and if the family you're investing in is really actually yours.
      So you push.
      But you're a nice guy. You think you're a nice guy. When you try to find the middle ground you can see the bitterness, and that bitterness comes from you being in love and having money. You can't apologize for that because it's a well of sadness that circles the drain. So you try.
      But you're trying against Richie, who wears his pain on his sleeve.
      Yes, a grown man would do this, he just didn't have the prescience and the courage to admit the love between them is there, will always be there.
      The truth is he sees Richie and he's scared, because Richie is still clearly in love. He's a suitable father.
      And for the first time in his life he's realizing his money bought him a family, and he feels like he's stolen it... and he has.
      And it's a ridiculous pill to swallow for someone who probably felt dreamy the whole time. Because he was the revenge rebound, but the revenge was against life.
      He wants to fix it, but there's no fixing this.
      Now, if he had the stones to risk it all he'd press the issue, but there's a kid involved. This isn't his game to play. Raising that kid is all these 3 people care about and it's more than enough. So do you screw with that?
      So he's making a rapport.
      It's never gonna make sense, it's not meant to. People really living their lives have awkward conversations and realizations like this all the time, uncomfortable conversations are when you realize something is up. You only get there when you're trying 150%.
      I've counseled all kinds of crazy families, but the basic is that most people want to ruthlessly CARE.
      Nobody should care about being awkward, find the right thing. It's way more important.
