Moving on is a grieving process. It’s someone in your life who was such a big part of it and now you may never see them again and if you do it’ll be awkward. You lost someone close enough for you to love. The best thing to do is to wait. Fill the time you used to spend with them hanging out with other people or doing other stuff you love.
Losing an important relationship like that is like quitting a drug cold turkey. You miss their touch, their laugh, their kisses and you may have physical and emotional withdrawals. Maybe you need a fling/hookup to act as your nicotine patch. To feel a bit of what you felt before so it’s more bearable until you don’t need it anymore.
I think time is the most important thing to help you move on tho. It turns a current event into a memory. If you’re hurting you’ll have to hurt. There’s no scheme to get over things faster. Heartbreak is inevitable but it can be healed if you give it time and a healthy surrounding(ex: don’t stalk your ex and talk to supportive friends). Like a cast for a broken leg. Just let time pass and it’ll get easier.
(Note: I’m like on the verge of passing out(sleep) so if I wasn’t clear in saying anything that’s my explanation)

Definitely look into anxious attachment style! Attached by Amir Levine is the best book- it breaks down the different attachment styles and explains how they arise + reassures you that it’s not your fault if you have an anxious attachment style
Self awareness is such a priceless life lesson!!!!

The key is to just be transparent is what I’ve come to find out. Bring everything into the relationship, communicate and unpack it all together. 😊
I have never imagined you’re the jealous type considering how nice you are . Well you learned your lesson that’s a fact but jealous creates a lot of damage from the heart especially when you’re in a full on relationship. I get jealous too from someone I had feeling for a long time ago and eventually he got married 2 years later . Hahaha what a twist 😅

I was toxic like this in my past relationship and in the relationship now. Got huge problems with jealousy and it’s so unnecessary so I now try to treat it like intrusive thoughts

I went through that too. I was SUPER toxic. And the relationship after that, I was the best boyfriend I could be and I was proud of myself… and she cheated on me. I’ve since decided that I’m just not lovable. I’m likable, I can make friends, but I always keep people distant because vulnerability has never made things better for me. I used to wear my heart on my sleeve and be so vibrant and have such a big personality, and I do miss that, but I’ve been hurt so much. I’m autistic and queer and was raised in a cult so I feel like all those things are too much for a person to handle so I just don’t date, I don’t hang out with people, just stick to myself and spend my time alone. Damn, I’m tired of living like this, but I won’t allow myself to break out of my shell. Someone has to be perfect in order to make it into my world.

I love that youre telling your mistakes and the lessons you learned on here. Too many times influencer try to portray themselves as perfect and think vulnerability is a weakness even though its not. That's so strange. I was on the opposite side of this. I'm not someone that gets jealous easily and I try to show respect for the other person by giving them time to enjoy their hobbies, and occasionally checking in. So being in a relationship with someone that wanted to be chased was very confusing for both parties.
in my opinion changing a personality to a person is not the right way its just not you at the end of the day you will aways aways feel guilty, if you can be yourself around people their the people you should always have to be with no matter what, life has up and downs tho you should always get going.
Yep. They just weren't compatible. Personally I think what he wanted is fine. I'm a girl and I don't like my partner being close with other girls, but I in turn aren't close with other guys. We both have the same boundaries, so it works and isn't toxic.

That is exactly what happened with my ex fiance. He never felt secure in our relationship so it crashed and burned every time. I tried to reassure him over and over and it never took.
In the early days,I got jealous, was told it was toxic, then found out she was cheating on me with at least nine dudes. Could have been more. She only admitted when I could prove it beyond a reasonable doubt, and I'm no detective, so it probably was more.
Many people don't realize these things you've realized. You'll make someone very happy one day. :)
It's you saying all this that gives me hope that past toxic partners I've had were also just unsure of how you act in a first time relationship. Or not, still won't justify their dumb actions, just hoping they're better to future partners :)

I actually ened a relationship for similar reasons. Amoung others. He called me up and wanted to get back together. He didn't seem to think he did anything wrong. So I kindly reminded him and then he understood. I made it clear that I was aware that I also had my flaws and was working on them as he should too.
Jealousy is a killer fs! My ex was extremely jealous and I’m bi so I felt like I had to hyper fixate on how I interacted with EVERYBODY when she was around. It was super suffocating, controlling, and high-key a traumatic relationship for many reasons but the jealousy part was the one of the biggest issues.

I see it a bit diffrent: you were jealous, but were you ever satisfy with the classic explanation of "it is just a boy, she can talk with whom she wants". As a couple, it is so important to make your partner feel safe, so your jealousy could be an indicator of a possible "i shoudnt trust this person that much if my feelings are on the table". Dont think that being jealous is a flaw, is a basic human instrict most of the times.
