I love it. A 1,000 American RUclips channels daring to venture from Florida to the Bahamas and Island hop around the Caribbean. Sailing Brothers just go out to sea and sail straight past 😂
Love this comment, we like to do things differently
The Bahamas prices makes sailing on a budget pretty difficult
I will be taking my cats and dogs, which means I can only stop on pet friendly places.
You know, each episode becomes more interesting and more beautiful to watch. I don't know if you're aware of this but your seascape photography has a sort of real intimacy yet also captures the vastness of the ocean and the true scale of your journey. It comes across in such a relaxed way; not posed, not captured specially for the screen. I often feel as though I'm there with you. Sorry to sound a bit gushing but your videos have become one of the highlights of the week for me. You're going to get a fridge!!!!! Woohoo!! Cold beers and somewhere to keep the cheese and the fish you catch. I've gone to the dark side now (Power) and one thing I miss is that moment when you switch off the engine and the only sound is the boat making it's path through the water.
Thank you so very much for your very kind thoughtful comments Phed 🙏🙏🙏🙏. We try our very best to make the videos as real as it comes and love to take you all on the journey with us!! We have ordered a fridge and are awaiting its arrival 😁😁. Buy another sailing yacht 👌😀😀😉
In case no one has answered the question on the name of the fish, I know them as Dolphin(not as in Porpoise) from the 70's fishing offshore of Cape Hatteras however these days they are commonly called Mahi Mahi.
Killer sailing gents!
Thanks Douglas 👍 yeah absolutely delicious 🐟. So meaty and full of flavour. Caught a couple of those arcross the Atlantic
Love watching you both. Something very endearing and honest about you guys which people are drawn to. One thing I’ve noticed is that you seem happiest when on passage which is fantastic!. Keep up the great videos. 😀
Thanks Annie 👌. We are happiest when on long passages. There is something truly magical about travelling on the ocean. Thank you for your lovely comments 😁
Never change. You have a natural chilled out honest way, superb filming. Stay Safe
It's just how we roll Harry 😁⛵. Thanks for the super nice comment
You guys do the men in the world proud! Kind, competent and gentlemen, determined to make your life full!
Wow, what a lovely comment 🙏. You are super kind my man 👌
Guys, that fish you keep catching is called Mahi-Mahi. Also known as Dolphin, or Dorado in Spanish. It's a priced catch. Great sportsfishing species, and delicious. Try cut it into fillets, or medallions and fry it in oil with some garlic. A touch of pepper, salt to taste, cook both sides till lightly brown, enjoy.
Mahi-mahi is absolutely delicious quite a meaty fish. It's also nice mixed with pasta. Fresh as can be 😋👌
@@TheSailingBrothers Shrimp goes great on pasta. Cook the shrimp in a mix of cream, lemon juice, garlic, salt, pepper and butter, just till the shrimp starts to turn, then toss the whole thing into the already drained pasta, in a pot, and mix it all together. If you have some mahi mahi already cooked, break it up and toss it into the party. Enjoy! And full sails to you guys! You are living my dream. I hope to start my own within the next couple of years. Already browsing for a boat. But you guys inspire me. Thank you!
@@gandoka66 thanks for the tips, we hope you find the boat of your dreams
nice episode! Stay safe SB team!! 👍👍👊👊
Thanks Thoughtful Wander as always 😎
@@TheSailingBrothers 👍👍
That big fish at 0:18 is a Sardine !! Nice to eat grilled on toast with a drizzle of oil !!
Can't beat a sardine on toast with cheese of course 😃😃
The adventure continues. Great progress ,fella's. Atlas has a really good motion.
Thanks Craig 👍. Atlas is the king of the sea 😁
Great sail ! I can’t believe the amount of Cheese the boat can hold!,, Cheers from Muros
Oh she can hold a couple of tons of cheddar at least 🤣🤣. Hope your well 👍
Fantastic update on this next big voyage. I love how you capture the real ups and downs of a passage. Congrats on the 10k subs too!
That's a really nice comments Billy we thank you very much. Just passed 10K subs incredible 👌
Hello lads, just catching up on your blogs, amazing seeing where your journey is taking you, was not long ago you sailed around uk, and who would have thought you would end up where you are.... catching fish like that and in such beautiful places.... hats of to both of you.. and keep them coming lads....
Hello Gary. It's crazy how far we have sailed since the UK. Can't believe where we are right now and the adventure along the way ⛵👍
@@TheSailingBrothers absolutely brilliant and making lifetime memories..... you couldn't have picked a better time to get away from all the doom and gloom news that is on TV.... enjoy and keep safe.... p.s. try the fish sushi style soon as you have caught it.... now that is super nice... need soy sauce tho
You two are brilliant 👍⛵️⚓️
Thanks 👍👍👍
Lads, your channel has become my favourite channel by far. I’m a Cardiff boy myself and had boats for years now but you guys live the life I wish I had the balls to do. Like others have said we feel like we’re on the journey with you. Keep it up and fly the flag for Welsh sailors everywhere. Don’t forget, Captain Morgan was from Llanrhymney! 😊
Hey Steve 👋 fellow Cardiff lad. Thank you so much for for watching and commenting on the episode. We just love to share this adventure with you all, it's incredible.
A little while back I asked about Sailing Brothers merch... you kindly replied and said you were waiting for 10k subscribers... I've been watching every Sunday, seeing the subscribers increase, and tonight got super excited to see YOU HAVE 10K SUBSCRIBERS 🥳
Bring on the 'delicious' merch!
Hey Charlotte. Yes we have hit 10K and super pleased. The merch store is nearly ready, just finalising a few bits and pieces. Very soon 😁😁
I had 4 brother's now there's 6!!
🤣🤣
The fish is a Mahi Mahi or Derado, boys. Bet you enjoyed eating it beautiful fish both looks and taste.
Absolutely deliciously tasty especially with pasta or potato
Great watching your adventures! You've sailed past me here in Savannah, Ga. Welcome to America!🇺🇸🇬🇧 I truly like the music you put into the videos...makes for a very special sight and sound during those portions of the show! Fair Winds!
Hey Scott. Thanks for the warm welcome to the United States. It's been incredible here so far everyone is so friendly. You have Luke to thank for all the music he picks for the videos 😁. It is a pleasure to share this experience with everyone
@@TheSailingBrothers I'm an old salty dog, 8 yrs Navy and had 2 small sailboats back in my Florida Keys days. How cool it is to travel worldwide on your own efforts⛵

We just love to tell the story 😁👍
Right on mates!

Well done you two, you’re on your way 👍🏻👍🏻
Climbing the ladder Andy 👍
Cheeseburgers! How fitting to begin your American adventures. By now you must be sailing up the ICW (aka, the Ditch) into the Chesapeake. Please let us know if you’re still coming via Long Island Sound around the Solstice. We’ll be happy to host you in Milford Harbor.
Had to be cheeseburgers to start by crossing to the USA. At the moment we are on the hard in Chesapeake bay carrying out work to Atlas. Will let you know Cathy 👍😁
It's always something! Hope you can get your kit sorted quickly. Might be a chance to get a look around in Washington DC.
A very good Description of your passage up North. Guessed what your eating? I guessed corned beef with Spagetti! But I was surprised.... Good voyage and greetings from Germany.
Greetings to Germany. Planned this one to the tee. Could have easily been corned beef with spaghetti, good guess! Last fresh meat meal 😋
Ah, Sunday viewing and motivational lift time!
Supply and demand 😂😂. Nar, we are so truly grateful
Crossed the 10K subscribers marker - congratulations!
It's absolutely fantastic Neil ⛵😎😎
Your mam advised hats,i advise you put tee shirts on while filming it looks like an audition for a remake of The bridge on the river Kwai :) still smashing it lads! Tidy :)
We will definitely be wearing t-shirts as we had North 🥶. Tidy but 👌👌😁
Good on you guys. As always really enjoy your sailing. So good to see.
It's a pleasure. We love to make these videos it's a passion ⛵
The Puerto Rico Trench is the Deepest part of the Atlantic at Over 8000 Meters or 25'000Ft so chuffing deep I think Luke was getting his Feet and Meters muddled up
I think Luke did get his calculations mixed up a bit there Craig 🤣🤣
I love it guys it’s like your actually on the boat there with y’all sailing ⛵️
I’m purchasing a 1976 rival mk3 within a couple of weeks it’s a long story actually it’s the first boat I actually was going to purchase in 2018 and the owner decided to keep the boat but long story….. awesome videos guys thanks again
That's how we want the videos to come across. So you're joining the Rival family, absolutely super, great choice of boat ⛵👍 keep in touch and let us know how it goes

Nice fishing blokes, thanks so much for these wonderful videos of 2 Brothers who have each other's backs. Great start with cheese burgers our national favorite way to have a burger
It's an absolute pleasure Gail. It's really nice sailing with your brother we always look out for each other. A burger to start the journey for good luck 😁😋
Outstanding, thank you for showing what can be done :)
It's an absolute pleasure Simon 😁
Enjoyed your BVI footage, brought back happy memories of a charter there twenty years ago. Happy that you're back out at sea - so good to have you show what is possible without needing a huge amount of money for boat or the trip.
That's fantastic David 👍, happy memories 😁. We are very frugal with our money to make it last as long as we can.
Great sailing footage guys 👍🏻
Pleasure Daniel 👌
LATE SEEING YOUR RECENT VIDEO. Thanks for sharing, nice!!!!............................... from the Ozarks, drinking fresh spring water this morning, while soaking in the hot mineral springs
Sounds delightful Shirley 😌. We just love to share this adventure thanks for watching 🙏🙏

Great progress guys, I may be strange but I love going to windward or close hauled. Stay safe chaps. Andy UK
Thanks Andy👍. It is fun sailing to windward but not for days, gets very uncomfortable on board . Cheers Andy 👌
Fabulous boys, 👏👏👏👏👏👏
Thanks Andy ⛵⛵👌👌
Hellow Luke and Adam, boy both of you are doing well. I think you are doing what we wish we could do, this is a big sail 2weeks there about. By gum Atlas is doing a good job she can
handle more than you can and that is very good to know. I am now getting on my Pulpit and giving you a lecture on safety at sea. " PUT YOUR LIFE JACKETS ON " and of a night
use a life line if there is only one of you on watch. Take care boys and carry on enjoying what you are doing .
Hey John. The passage took 12 days, quite a long one but a very enjoyable. We love to make these videos and share the adventure. We are terrible for not wearing life jackets 😟. But we always clip on at night, it's a must. Thanks John 😁
06:45…Don’t lick the knife! Your mother would have a fit!😂😂
That's one of Luke's habits 🤣🤣
got your self a Mahi Mahi! hey?? fair winds n following sea!
Absolutely delicious fish Freddy 🐟
Well done, another great episode of your adventures. Hoping to set off on my own adventure within the next 10 days, round the UK, it was finding your video of your own UK tour that turned me into a follower of The Sailing Brothers
Thank you very much Graham. Sailing around the UK that is absolutely fantastic. You will love every second of it! A true fan 🙏
Helloo lad's Atlas is cracking along.. Safe passage and fair winds 🙏💪⛵🎶🧀
Smashing it, Atlas on the Atlantic 👌🙏👍⛵🌎

Fair Winds

Thanks James. Absolutely delicious eating 😋
Nice sailing, nice hats, well done on both
Thanks very much Dream Time 👌😎
Love cheese burgers home made
Really can't beat it
Great video again lads. I love the highs and lows of passage sailing. You both have a gift of making it real. A couple of days of nothing much to do other than enjoy the beam reach and then beating to windward, really working at it and the boat rolling around. The one constant is Atlas sailing along not fazed by any of it, what a lovely boat. Fair winds and keep enjoying.
We just love to film everything, put it together into a film and share it with everyone, just love it. It's a story that needs to be told, ups and downs, good and bad. We want to make you feel you are right there with us 😁
Hi guys impressive passage I though Barry to Tenby was. An adventure well done lads what an achievement, fair winds!, Chris Polly Garter
Beats our couple of first passages from Cardiff hey. We have done so much in a year ⛵. Cheers Chris
I bought a boat 2 years ago to cross the Atlantic Ocean one day. But got difficulty to get ready always something to repair plus my work and daily routine. Make the dream hard to reach 😞 I am Happy for you guys love to watch your journey 💪
It can be difficult to find the time and things always getting in the way. Any dream is reachable if you believe! Hope you reach the dream Mario 🙏👍
So cool
Cheers Luke 👍
Yeahhhhhh America bro`s go for it!!!!!!!!

What another great video good to see you guys on the move again taking proportion to keep your self safe from the sun , yes you can get skin cancer from to much of a good thing, so fun to see ya'll catching something nice for dinner, I just love the way the boat picks up speed great sailing across the Atlantic to North Carolina , you need to get you set a gaf hook so you'll don't keep losing those big ones hav a great trip, be safe 🤙
Hey Winston. We have started to cover up now now T shirts and hats. That fish was absolutely delicious nice bit of protein on passage. Atlas has such a beautiful sailing motion we think he is an incredible boat. I will be picking up a decent gaff hook soon. Great to hear off you Winston 👍👌⛵😁

Bon voyage, Neil.
Thanks very much Neil. Can't beat fresh protein at sea 😋
Fantastic video as always . did yo not want to stop at the other islands ? Good luck for rest of the voyage x
Thanks Snowy Owl 👊. We would have liked to stop off at more Islands but we are up against time limits 👍

Looks great! Look forward to your episodes!
Cheers John 👍 as always
12000m? Probably 1200m lol Great Video
Umm 🤔 yes that's right 😂😂
Well done guys, I am really excited for you and a little envious. My long term plan is to do the same as you, sadly I don’t have a brother to do it with. My wife hates sailing but enjoys being on a boat. She will fly from the UK to meet me, but its not the same. I love America, been there about 20 times, you’ll have a great time, especially up in Maine, its stunning. Stay safe and keep your brilliant videos coming. Andy
Thanks very much Andy. You could do the trip single handed just need to enjoy your own company. Have you got any friends you would like to do it with? We are really enjoying America it's fantastic. Don't give up on your dream!! 😁
Pretty sure you caught a Mahi Mahi aka Dolphin fish.
We thought it was a mahi-mahi but we're a little unsure. Delicious 😋
Keep it going boys its a long way to swim lol
A hell of a long way Andy 🤣
Great vid guys, really warming to your channel! 😃
Thank you so much Rich. Hope you continue to watch 🙏
Some refer to this as Wahoo or mahi mahi.
Both names are correct. It is delicious! ♡
It was pretty damn delicious. Have caught a couple of these on our journey so far. Delicious with mashed potato or pasta 😋
sorry guys thats not a wahoo that is a dorado or mahi mahi in the pacific...keep up the good vids love em all...shame your not going to bermuda before going on to the usa..have fun.
wasn't sure whether it was a mahi, Dorado or wahoo. Very tasty thought 😁. We will be visiting Bermuda on the way back down from Canada

Oh yes!! We filmed a special 10 k video today to celebrate 😎
Great videos boys.
It would add to the experience of those on land if you could you please explain how you get your weather data when on passage.
No probs Martyn. We have two weather guys on land who give us daily weather forecasts through our Garmin in reach. We will explain in a video 👍👍
@@TheSailingBrothers That would be helpful for sure.
Keep up the good work .
How's the cheese in the USA?

Will take a look agent staple 👌
well done you too, liking the videos great to see how you get on.
but the big question is why do you have a mask on.
Thanks 👍👍👍. Luke was being a fool wearing a mask, messing around 🤣🤣
You mentioned once that you liked the Bukh engine, because of its reliability, but do you find 20HP a little under powered? Also, what prop do you have fitted and is that a good solution?
We do find the engine very reliable but it is a little underpowered. We have a two bladed prop which is in need of replacement really
Both of you lads are losing weight. Don’t look unhealthy- but the cruising life keeping you active and fit
It's difficult not to lose weight sailing every day. Can be quite physical especially on a 24/7 moving yacht
John Perry
Another greaat video. Lovely sailing shots, and it's very nice showing us the charts. Is there any way of plotting where you actually are? keep up the good work, lookingforward to the next video.
Thanks very much John 🙏. We have a Garmin tracker active when we sail. It fantastic, we can communicate with the outside world while offshore
Lads, Why do you crank the winches both ways?
They are geared. Clockwise brings in a lot of the sheet fast and anticlockwise for when the winch gets to tough to turn, you can bring in the rest of the sheet by turning anticlockwise. When sailing upwind we bring the jib in tight to cut into the wind. As you winch it in it gets real heavy so we turn anticlockwise to get the last bit in.
You're going to have a hard time sailing to Newport. You can go to Beaufort, Morehead City, or Orential. Newport is miles inland from any sailing water.
The destination was Morehead city. We made a mistake saying Newport. Opps
@@TheSailingBrothers No problem.
I used to live in the community of Broad Creek, which has a Newport zip code.
Always wear a hat it pays off
I need a hat as my head Burns badly
Hi love following your adventure. Quick question . How do you go about getting a tablet for your navigation , i can't find anyone who can tell me if the tablet has gps built in. hope you can help. Shug.
Hey Shug. Have a look online at the tablets you are looking at and it should tell you whether they have built-in GPS 👍. Thanks for the comment buddy
Fantastic! Fabulous sailing and so much CHEESE. You guys are truly inspiring. So much so I have just bought a bigger boat. I am going to start my own RUclips channel. I am thinking of calling it “seas of cheese” what do you guys think?
Hey Hillary. Really glad you enjoyed the sailing. Thank you so much for your kind words 🙏. Buying a bigger boat and starting your RUclips channel is a fantastic idea. "Seas of cheese" love it
🙂
😁👌
Hi Boy's
Never mind your mum telling you off for not wearing a hat you also don't wear sun glasses protect your eye's my Dad sailed to America and never used them he is regretting that now.
Fare wind's
We do have sun glasses but don't always wear them. Need to get into the habit of wearing hats, tops and 👓. Cheers Kevin
Can you explain to us none sailor's what a reef is and what it's job is pls
A reef means to shrink the sail area. Make the sail smaller for the conditions and balance of the boat.
A reef is also a rocky ledge that can be part covered or projecting above the water.
Have you worked out a way to keep your cheese fresh this time? You don’t want to run out of cheese. Why don’t you play hide and seek to keep you occupied or and ideal task for a boat build a pyramid out of cards.
We have ordered a fridge it is coming very soon, exciting. Hide and seek and cards sounds awesome 😁. We have plenty of top trumps
