At 5am this morning the ground was not heavily impacted by water, yet. By 6 am this morning with in 10 minutes or less water came through the floor and was up to my chest i stand at 5’10. This was in east Lismore. Have been here most my life, owned the house for nearly 12 years. Went through Diva Debbie. This is beyond words. When we finally got a boat to help us the trip was past our once beautiful antique 1940’s house that now only is visible by the roof. We lost everything even the car. But we were also, so humbled that we found what Lismore is about. A shout out to all humans in the Lismore area giving their time and potentially lives to help one another. A special shout out to the Girards hill community and the people that came from far and wide to assist no questions asked. Be safe all Lismore people, in pure devastation there was absolute beauty in every human. We all lost a lot today, this event is like no other. Please do what you can to stay safe and my thoughts are with all. Sending Much Love .

@@clouds5722 so yes - my entire family are now battling covid. No need for sorries at all. I feel we all as humans need to find better ways to understand each other’s areas and economy, and really respect it. Thanks for your kind words though.

@@animefan7424 Sorry the weather doesn't abide by a set schedule it happens when it happens and there is little anyone can do but be prepared. It may seem more frequent but it has more to do El Nino and La Nina weather patterns and the hyper focus on such events pushed for political and invested interests.

@@cherylthommo1 They're taking everyone to rescue centres at the UNI and up at Goonellabah Swim Centre. Rescues have been going from about 3am all day and so far no reports of casualties other than one individual last night in the CBD. I was up at G'bah all afternoon - plenty of people from South Lismore up there. They're a bit wet - but ok. Chances are your family got out.
