I enjoyed your tutorial for scrapbook cross stitch finishes that I will not be hanging. Very informative and simple with basic materials. Thanks again for sharing.
Somewhere on Flosstube, I cannot remember, I found a great tip to "frame" and/or cut your fabric pieces: where you want the edge to be cut use your needle to pull a thread of the fabric, then very carefully, pull the thread, like a draw string, until it is completely removed from the fabric, the space that is left by the removed thread will leave you a mark to cut at. The worry of crooked scissor cuts is no more! Just be very slow in pulling the thread, and ease it away slowly, loosening the side opposite where you are pulling, sometimes they break from the tension, but it can be eased out again with the needle after straightening out the fabric. What you have done is great! Thanks for the video!
Yes that technique is used for squaring up fabric especially for things like getting hems or folds straight. When I worked in embroidery store we always did that to provide a straight cutting line.
Never would have had the idea to put in a scrapbook. Love watching you work and explaining everything you do. So off to get the material to do just that. Have a great week.
What a great idea! I love that it's combining two different crafts. I can picture using the scrapbook as a coffee table book, and include a little information about the pieces and what they mean for me or who or what they represent for me. You really have my wheels turning! Love it!
Wow that was really fun to watch it your process and idea evolve. Thank you Laura for sharing what you do with your stitching scrapbook. I have never done that before.
Love it! I know I have some old 90’s stitching that I can put in a scrapbook. I’ll have to do some of them during the cold Wisconsin winter. Thanks for such a great tutorial.
Hi Laura, just found your channel and I love it!!! I don’t binge watch until last night😜. Lovely idea to scrapbook your finished projects!!! Like a storybook❤.
That's just so stinkin' smart and cute! I really love this idea. It's completely changed that way I think about finishes. Love it. I wondered how you got the finishes in there without adding bulk or the edges fraying, and the interfacing on the back is perfect. I'd love to see more of these videos as you make them! It was enjoyable to watch your process.
I am loving this whole new way of finishing my projects. I have a lot of fun making the pages and can't wait to have a book full of finishes. I think it will b so nice to flip through.
Such a great idea. I have some x st pieces just put in page protectors but love what you are doing and would be a nice coffee table book. Think my granddaughters would enjoy flipping through it.
Thanks for showing your cross stitch scrapbooking. You are so creative. I am going to try this on my cross stitch that have just been in the plastic bins forever. Then I can at least look at them in the albums. I am running out of wall space.
Yay!! I’m so excited to see your actual process! I’m actually getting ready to stitch up my first scrapbook piece in November I think! I can’t wait to start so I’m just going for it!
Very interesting way to preserve your beautiful. One question, how do you preserve/scrapbook your larger pieces like full coverage HAED's, long gnomes, etc. ? It looks great and a lot easier than sewing or framing. Great tutorial!! Dottie
Thanks for watching Dottie. For the HAED's, I think they will probably end up geting framed (if I ever finish any - LOL) since they are too big for the scrapbook. The gnomes will actually fit in a 12x12 so that's all set. I do have a couple of pieces that are slightly too big and I haven't decided yet what to do with those.
I wanted to say thank you so much for mentioning this. I did exactly this and it's working great. If some day I have too many of each size, I'll break them out but for now it's working great.
@@stitchingbytheshore Oh good! I'm so glad it helped. My son turned 27 back in June and I started scrapbooking when he was just 3 weeks old. His sister is almost 24. They both have a set of albums that ot started with Kindergarten and ends when they graduated from high school. I used all sizes of protectors for their albums...6x6, 8x8, 8 1/5 x 11, and 12 x 12. I even used some in different size from We R Memory Keepers. One of these days I'll try to share them on one of my flosstube videos!
Once the pieces are in the book, the edges should be fine since the piece will not be folded and such. Also, I add the interfacing on the back which I think helps.
This is great! Thank you for showing how you did that. I was just “thinking out loud” on my last video about possibly doing something like this for a special project for my mother, and several people pointed me to your channel. What kind of double sided tape are you using? ~Katrina
What is the interfacing you see using? I really like the way your pages turned out. I have been thinking of doing the scrapbook also. It's a great idea.
I like your scrapbook pages very much.🍁🍁🍁🌲🌲

Loved your idea of keeping cross stitch in a scrap book! Great job!
Scrap books are a great idea! Thanks for sharing your process. 🪡🪡🪡

I love how these turned out! Very creative and a great way to finish needlework!
This was so great! Thank you for demonstrating how to do this! This beats keeping stitching in an "under the bed box". Thanks for doing this!
It looks really good, what a fantastic idea.

This is awesome, thanks so much Laura, I love this idea.
I like the scotch double sided tape! Lovely
Well done. This is a perfect stepping off point to be able to start scrapping my stitched items. Will send photos when I get one done. Thank you!
I love the leaves!
Laura! You are amazing! What a great idea, no more searching for frames plus where to hang them. Thank You Hugs ann
I'm looking at all my stitches in a whole new light!
I need to do this. I have things I want to stitch, but not necessaraily hang on my walls. This is a good idea.
It looks great! Now I’m determined to put some of mine in a scrapbook! Thank you!
Great job, great idea, may do this I stead of that bed box. Lol hugs
Thank you so much😀
Looks great!
That is great! Thanks for sharing!

You do really nice work. I just slap some interface on the back and use 2 side scotch tape and I’m finished.
great job
Very nice
This is just so much fun to watch! You are just so clever and creative!!
Laura, this looks so good! I love it. It’s so cool to see your paper crafting skills coming to life

8 1/2 x 11 page protectors will fit in your 12 x 12 album. I did my kid's school albums using different sizes of protectors but in 12 x 12 albums.

The interfacing that I have been using is Pellon 950F. It seems to give the piece some structure without being too heavy. It's a bit more flexible.
What kind of double sided tape? Sorry if I missed it.
I use 3M brand of double sided tape.
