This is weird as hell for me! I went to church with these two in Oregon and Andrea taught me how to play chess on a Mario themed chess board. I didn’t know they were famous until literally 10 minutes ago.

Younger siblings do that a lot. It's because as small children they look up to them. Whereas for older siblings, especially over 3-4 years older , the younger sibling is just a child who hasn't matured as much as them.

Man the emotional intelligence of some people just amazes me. Like, compared to me, a male in middle age, is so refreshing to be involved in these conversations. The things that i think about myself compared to those open personas, it negates my depression. Thank you for this ^_^

I felt very emotional when I heard 😢 Alex say that they were poor while she was studying and couldn't afford tutors for Math and couldn't get any other help for herself. People can have many reasons like this to actually not do well in studies and others should try to understand this. But it's great to know how they both turned out to be. Both are doing well in chess as well. And maybe she was implying that she helped her sister in Math. I was told once by a teacher that in most families the youngest does better in studies because the elders help them out. But seeing how she calculates and anticipates chess moves is impressive as well. Also the fact that she studies physics seems great. Also the way she said but it was a B, implies that she has been a straight A student. I've known a lot of people who have said they were better in Math than physics which sounds sorta contradictory. But in her case it was the other way round and hope she had succeeded in both eventually. Geography also isn't an easy subject. But I better not try to say which is the hardest.
Notwithstanding the sibling rivalry, Andrea and Alexandria seem to truly enjoy each other.
They are entertaining as hell. Couldn't stop watching. Now my ears ring, but it was worth it.
Math will help Andrea. Math always help. Your life has barely begun! :)

That was hilarious and really beautiful. I'm estranged from my brother and watching this was a little bittersweet. It's funny, I used to only watch the chess videos from these two and would never click on the other stuff, but now I find myself clicking on lots of it.

This kind of sounds like the Sith code from Star wars. The rule of two. One master and one apprentice. If they both live then Andrea will forever be Alexandra's apprentice, which is what Alexandra secretly wants. So, I think the only way Andrea will break free and reach her full potential is to one day challenge and conquer the master and when that day comes only one will survive.

Mixed feelings on the mind games your parents pulled, the competition they pushed between siblings isn't healthy. However they ended up raising very successful and driven people, but conditional love of parents with huge expectations is a dangerous mindset to instill in kids, especially if they fall short.
Andrea still has too much energy and vigor, and she looks fantastic in shorts.
These videos about growing up together or the other 2 roasts I found on the channel are just priceless. I also watched a few chess games but none of those videos can compare to how these ones makes one feel. It's like being allowed to participate in ones life, without even being there. I also did not travel anywhere in the last 1 1/2 years, so I guess that could be also part of the reason I felt that way. I hope you will always stay a team and don't let those haters bring you down.

They have the Elo they have because they played chess since they were in nappies, and as their brain was growing it was growing into a chess neural network.
I get a bit tired of seeing people think that being good at chess means you're intelligent. To be honest, they're not even masters at the game, despite playing it since young.
I think they are both intelligent and great personalities, but people need to stop putting a huge correlation on chess and intelligence. Every good chess player I've ever known has played it since they were a child.

Being smart can just as easily be a reason why people play good chess, as in, saying it contributes to their skill.

I have to say kudo's to their parents for letting them, probably especially the youngest, be what they are still being spontaneous and full of energy. Cant imagine how they did it but i wonder how to still maintain some kind of order in the house with these two without dulling their will with too many rules. Would be interesting to see what happens when they get kids 😉
