- Navarathri Practice at our home (Navratri Pooja Vidhi)
Navaratri always brings us happiness, wealth and wisdom.
It starts from 10th Oct this year.
Firstly on Mahalaya amavaysa day clean the place with Raw salt and draw maa kolam (rangoli with rice flour).
Navarathri Golu Decoration
Navarathiri Golu Dectoration needs to be odd-numbered steps like 3,5,7 or 9 steps.
Navratri Story
As ambal killed (vadham) nine demons and Mahisasuran we celebrate nine days (nights in fact) and on 10th day vijayadasami for the victory. During the days ambal fights with the demons and during the nights the devis (sakthi) join with the respective devars (sivam) hence this festival is called Nav (9) rathri (night).

I have discovered some Bangladeshi ancient coins from my Grandpa's drawer,having a peepal leaf at the front, lotus like symbol at the back(5 paise);one 20 paise Indian coin with lotus; and a Nepalese coin with a trishul symbol at the front and a cow symbol at the back with Shree Bhavaani written on the top of the rear portion(cow).

mam as guided by you i am keping fast and today is my 8th day fast so tommorrow is my 9th day how to complete this fast and i have also kept kalasam in my home and when to take off that kalasam and as tomorow is 9th day of pooja so i cant remove my kalsam tomorrow and they after tomorrow is friday so can we remove it off on friday mam ,or else shall i remove the kasalam on saterday and sprinkal the water on my home on saterday it self mam,,,,,,

Tomorrow night, after arathi slightly move or shake the kalasam. Friday morning do the pooja and complete your fasting.
Saturday you can take out the kalasam, sprinkle the water all over the house and prepare some sweet with that coconut.

mam iam going to keep fast for 9 days so pls help mee what should i eat if i keep fast for 9 days and this is my first navaratri fast there is no one to help mee ... becoz iam the first women in my hole family whos keeping this fast for 1st time ,, and what should i eat if i keep fast , i saw i internet that we not suppose to consume rise , wheat flour , and all . so can you say how to keep fast for 9 days..
I eat only once in a day, that is neivedhyam given to ambal. This is only afternoon and morning I wont eat anything. Night I take the sundal and milk. During fasting time we should not sleep in the afternoon. If we dont want to take rice you can take javvarisi (sabudana) and fruits. Thanks.

Different practices with regard to fasting. Kanchi Periyavaa once told that Sumangalis need not to have complete fasting and they can eat the prasadams whatever given to God. This is only followed at my house. I take the prasadams. As I said earlier if you dont want to take rice include javvarsi in the form of upma, payasam etc. Thanks.
