imagine preparing for the whole week leading up to the weekend you watched every qualifying sessions like you always do every years previously but then the main race only lasts around 7 hours, you stayed up the entire night waiting for something to happen, the announcement keeps getting delayed each hour and then they announced they will do five laps before ending it prematurely. I know i can't blame anyone as the weather does not improve till the end but it still feel somewhat frustrating being a fan be it watching online or watching from the track itself. Those who were there waited for the fog to go away but it never did. Those are the sleeps that we will never get back.
They didnt delay it through the night as far as I know right? They annouced that they will give info at 7:00 in the morning and then they started delaying it. I still enjoyed watching it irl as it my first time at ring but its sad especailly for drivers.
I feel you man, since February me and my brother are counting the days, we had everything setup for this weekend at my home. Massive massive disappointment. They really gotta move the dates, make it in a time where these fogs chances are lowest, i’ve read that right now is the worst for the fogs in this part of Germany. Could of been a way better weekend than how it went

It's this bad every year. The guys from Radio Lemans do a great job trying to make something out of the poor clips they put together but it really is an hourly letdown. I think I've been hearing the same highlight music for 15 years too.
the biggest problem with this series is the coverage, they don't invest enough in the media, even though the media is what makes them money. Look at WEC now, insane production levels compared to years before, almost on par with F1.

Yes the WEC is well produced but if you want to watch the races live it's pay-per-view. At least the various GT series races are shown live, for free, and generally are professionally presented.
Safety is important, but the next upgrade they need to make besides any urgent resurfacing, is to install digital boards at each marshal post over time. At least then, if the fog / mist is only disrupting the GP circuit, you can run code 60 around the GP circuit and go green on the rest of the track. Even if you can't see specifically what the board is, you'll at least recognise the colour it's showing
Well they could have done that today, they actually did that in 2021, but teams complained so much about cold tyres in those Code 60 zones that the Race Director didn't want to do that.
I'm disappointed by the weather as well. But we should appreciate the ~8h of racing we got. If the rain had hit the Eifel as expected there had been no racing at all and the campsites would have been flooded.
I know it was only 7 hours but surely there was more than 10 minutes worth of highlights (tho i suspect it would still only be 10 mins if it was a full 24h lol). Not even showing things youre talking about either lol. This is like 'wec highlights a few years ago' bad lol. At least they listened to us and got better. Hope you do the same

Where have all the other cars and classes been? I mean, the last 30 years, there were plenty of different classes racing in a big field which made this race so special. Yes with introducing GT3 cars, the diversity of classes vanished but come on, not even showing/mentioning other cars/classes besides that one burning down? 24h Nurburgring got sold out =/
See commentators did say in the main stream one of them questioned why the flag didnt go on 11:00 instead 23 mins later AFTER the audi overtook the porsche it was then red flag a few seconds after

The curse of 2024 continues glad they got racing again after an hour an a half for puddles in the overnight lead to a GT3 in the third place overall behind two GT300 class cars and the closest finish I imagined in the GT3 class history 13.0100 of a second DAMN. Congratulations to the other class champions in the crown jewel event and the first round of the Intercontinental GT4 World Challenge series begins with a BMW winning from America over the European teams hopefully they won't deal with the weather crisis like what happened this week so everyone gets more driving time.😮😮😮😮😮😮😮. Let's hope no more weather crisis heading to the 24 hours of Spa next month lead alone to 24 hours of Le Mans in two weeks time.
Indeed. It's amusing when you realise if they'd run the race 24 hours earlier it would probably have been completed. I wonder what the comments section would read like if the race hadn't been red-flagged and we'd had another 'Dacia incident' due to the visibility, except with someone getting seriously injured.

Guys you really need to improve your Highlights.... it was a 7h race, it was even a fun race till the red flag, and you didn't show ANYTHING that happened... 10 minutes of highlights, 4 minutes of race and 6 minutes of red flag/safety car... wtf?!

Many content creators are using background music when they have a too strong background noise they can't or don't know how to remove. Most of the time it's super annoying while there are quite efficient tools to do the job.
I think some of the people in this comment section need to watch Misha Charoudin’s new video explaining why this years n24 hour is one of the worst he’s seen, after watching it… the race organisers should be absolutely ashamed of themselves
This was my first time watching the N24 and even though my car finished 2nd I must say I'm very disappointed. This race was 4 hours shorter than Bathurst and the way it ended was the most anticlimactic way I could possibly think of for a race to end. They have got to find some kind of solution to the fog issues. Hoping for better from the 24h Le Mans
it's the Eifel mountains mate they have their own micro climate, what did you expect? a blazing hot siesta? the Ardennes in Belgium are very similar so don't be shocked if come spa at the end of the month it's pissing it down during the race
I think they can be proud. They had excellent pace, excellent strategy, always on the right tyres after each stop while the other cars messed up one by one. That's the Nürburgring and that's part of it. It is not a shame, it is the weather. Nothing can be done about it. You either get this great track and that means sometimes getting foggy days and no race or you don't get the track at all. But you don't get to pick and choose.
lmao. it was still 7 hours of madness you have to endure. And it been such an amazign 7 hours with all the drama you can imagine for a 24hours. Why would you NOT be proud? It was underwhelming for everyone equally but that does not diminish a win given how those 7 hours of racing have been. Ask the #98 Rowe BMW drivers how they feel about beeing punted leading the race. Just proves how delusional internet people are. Get off the internet dude.
No the date is fixed a view years in advance. No one knows what the weather will be that day. Hot, rainy, foggy, snow. We got everything the last view years.
@@mathieuschafer1360 They had a 40s advantage before the red flag. Seems like they were the best over the first 7 hours. They weren't the fastest, the Rowe was quicker but they crashed. It wasn't their fault but it doesn't matter if the race is 7h or 24h, either way the Rowe had no chance of winning after DNFing. The red BMW was probably the fastest pace wise but they were on the wrong tyre twice. Once at the start and once at the same time when the Grello did a stint on the wrong tyres too. No one knows how it would have been at night. Don't underestimate the experience of Mies, Feller, Stippler and Marschall in a wet Nürburgring night. No one knows what the next 15h would have brought. I would say the top 4 probably had an equal chance of winning if the race had gone the full distance. But that is all guessing. We can clearly say that over the course of the 7h of racing we had, in the conditions we had, the Audi was at least 40s faster than anyone else. That is the only thing we know for sure and that is why they deserved winning, even though luck was involved, as it always is in the 24h Nordschleife.
The catastrophic decisions made by the race management led to a disastrous end for spectators, teams and sponsors. Shortly after 1:30 p.m., Walter Hornung announced five laps behind the pace car in order to complete another lap at full throttle around 3:00 p.m. The five laps were also rolled...for the sponsors. At 3:03 p.m. the same Walter Hornung announced that the race would be canceled despite positive weather forecasts for the last hour of the race...at 3:05 p.m. the sun came out...so much stupidity leaves you speechless. This man needs to be relieved because he is completely overwhelmed by such capricious weather conditions. For me, as an ADAC member of over forty years, deeply shameful. Shame on this club... one can only hope that the spectators have learned from this mudslinging farce... Feedback
Positive weather forecasts according to whom? It's so hard to predict the weather, they apperantly even called multiple weather stations in the region which all predicted different things which never actually happened.

This was my first time watching the N24 and even though my car finished 2nd I must say I'm very disappointed.
