To silence the warning in your fetch_openml call, add parser='auto'. This is because newer scikit-learn versions have a different default parser. It chooses the best option (often pandas) but might change data types.

It looks like there's a small mistake in your code. The fit_transform method usually needs the input to be a 2D array, but when you use df[[col]], it's already 2D. Try using df[col] = imp.fit_transform(df[col].values.reshape(-1, 1)). This will reshape your column to the right format for fit_transform.

Write (parse = ‘auto’ ) when calling fetch_openml to silent the warning (its cz of the new version)

df[col] = imp.fit_transform(df[[col]]) what is wrong with it??

use this one df[col]=imp.fit_transform(df[[col]]).ravel()
