Yeah! They get a lot of Slint ref, as do Black Midi. Very similar meter on Nosferatu as you observed. I must say Slint went largely under my radar back in the day.
Shaun keaveny played their new single this afternoon. I really like them. There's something original and yet familiar with their sound. Reminds me of Nick Cave and a British post punk band, And Also the Trees. The fiddle and sax really add an extra dimension.

They're playing tomorrow night, so I am hoping to grab a chunk more of their set. They've been topping my most watched list for three or four months now, dislodging Black Midi from the top three places, and with some radio play, they could go ballistic, as their parent band was poised to. Come back in a few days to check out some more.

Haha! All of the musicians here have probably had relatively privileged upbringings with access to a good education, including music. There’s always a class element to British society and often an inverse snobbery that goes with it when it comes to pop culture. I guess the op was saying that it’s unusual for people from that background to have the intensity of experience to draw on to write and perform great songs that are relevant across class lines.
Kristopher the only song title I know it's Athens, France as it's their single release. There's not really a huge amount of info about them, and my two videos have been the only visuals to date, this one having been doing the industry rounds in a frenzy to sign them. A lot of love coming their way.

Location is the same for all of them. Sometimes I have an audio back up plan field recorder. The PA is positioned differently in some nights. If it's too close to the stage it can get a bit hot. I'm not sure now what set up I used for each though.
You may be right. Thus was a pretty early gig after all. The guitar amps are all stage right in the Windmill, so he'd be behind Isaac as usual if he were there.

I absolutely hear Slint from the first guitar. The wordplay from the vocalist reminds me a lot of Captain Beefheart in a way as well
