Great ride over a nice looking bridge I went over YEARS ago with my grandparents and aunt after being in VA Beach and doing the Cheasapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel- my grandfather decided to take a more scenic route back to I-76... NICE.
.. my sister in law comes from this area - Newark Delaware - my brother studied at a university there many years ago. They now live in Canberra (our capitol). Great to see the countryside and roads of her home town! ..
Nice video Jim and both the I-295 Delaware Memorial Bridge combined with the I-95 Delaware Turnpike Tolls are $8.00 in total which is $5 cheaper than the $13 toll on I-95 George Washington Bridge toll. 3:58 in your video was the Delaware House service area and along with the Allentown service plaza dwarf the Vince Lombardi service area on I-95 in Ridgefield Park,NJ or I-87 Ramapo Service areas in Suffern, NY
I don't think there's been one time that I've traveled through Delaware and haven't been held up by congestion and slow downs right before the I-295 turnoff to NJ. I always thought it might've been a little confusing for drivers to have "Newark" listed as a control city when it could easily be mistaken for Newark, NJ. Great song choice and video!
Great video recognize it from interning up in Delaware a year ago. Not sure if you'll be going that way again but that $4 toll is pretty easy to bypass if you take that last exit. You exit north then head west on route 4 leading you to route 279 which takes you into Maryland and intersects with I-95 after the toll booth-also there are some good local places to eat there in Newark DE when you pull off.
I had to use that trick back in March when I was visiting Newark. I missed a turn and ended up on 279, but I was heading to PA, luckily I was able to turn around and head back to 95 without paying the toll.
You may have to re-shoot this. The exit for 95 was moved further West from the toll plaza recently so if you're in the left lanes paying the toll you don't have to deal with the traffic merging to the left to get to I-95 immediately afterwards now.
JMV FRVA says this road isn't for the faint of heart? Man, I'd choose the Delaware Turnpike in either direction over an average trip on the Staten Island Expressway any day of the week.
Thanks freeway Jim for all the cool cool expressway videos as a avid long distance driver myself I can relate to the highways myself.
Thank you very much for watching!
Just Cruising!! Thanks for the Video!! ✌️
Thank you for watching!
Any bridge video is a great video! I really enjoyed this ride.
I did this route many many times when I used to stay at Dover,DE.. thanks for the video Jim!

Love the video. Since I live in Delaware, it's good to watch the drive on a road that I have traveled many, many times. Big ups to Freewayjim!
Great video Jim! Nice to see a different POV of this area! Great music choice.
Love, love, love this song!
My Favorite bridge crossing the Delaware River.
Foo Fighters and the Del Memorial Bridge. Lovely.
Foo fighters kick it.great group.

Thank you! I've had good luck through there thankfully.

Nice !!
Yes, having to merge in to the left lane like that is hairy, especially with all those big trucks, same in MD too...glad you enjoyed the ride!
This was the way to Batlimore or Washington Dc from I went a group from NJ. Thanks for the video.
I only go on the Bridge once a month from west Virginia to new Jersey because I am from new Jersey
Thank you Scott!
We've got two more from Baltimore and three from the DC area left to go.
Thank you!
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it!

Oh, living in the Northeast is Toll City. Same with Florida. Anyway looking forward to your Cali trip.
great video
0:52 This song sounds. . . familiar. . .
3:52 I'd love to stop there once I get my own car, and enough money for a trip to Florida! :)
Thanks, yes it is a rather hectic drive.
Foo fighters everlong

Great work as usual, Jim. It's Mizzouluvr, just using my actual name.
Posting videos from Colorado as we speak then Utah, first Cali video will be in a few weeks.
Wow, looks like Delaware needs a law that keeps trucks to the right lanes. Some awesome driving maneuvers there.
They used to have a signed restriction going northbound up to DE 1. It has all but disappeared now.
Thanks, I live in Atlanta, EZ-Pass does me no good and I only go to the northeast once every two or three years.
I read somewhere it's $13 to cross the Verrazano in Staten Island.
nice video im from Delaware
Thanks!
I've not used this song before.....had I not been filming I'd have stopped at the service area, I have not seen it since it's been rebuilt.
Interstate 295 from New Jersey to belmar
Foo Fighters! Great choice, and have you thought of getting an EZ Pass? It makes things easier IMO. Anyway 10/10. Keep it up.
Wow, people in delaware/new jersey drive like maniacs, you got cut off by a truck 4 times in the video!
Oh, no. I said it sounded familiar because I remember playing this song in one of the Guitar Hero games. Not that you've used it before. :)
Number 4!
It's $15 now for that bridge.
I also live in Delaware but near Delaware park
I didn't really notice anything different.
JMV FRVA says this road isn't for the faint of heart? Man, I'd choose the Delaware Turnpike in either direction over an average trip on the Staten Island Expressway any day of the week.
This road is tame compared to some in California, Texas and Atlanta.
+Freewayjim The people in this video drive like maniacs. At least drivers in the places you list are competent...They have to be!
More like a $4 toll for the privilege to get out of New Jersey. :P
Thank you!
Thanks!
Thank you!
