Oral vs Injectable BPC 157 for healing

- BPC-157 can be taken orally or subcutaneously, and for most people there is no difference in efficacy.
Yes, some people will notice one works better than the other. Yes, some people will claim that injecting close to the injury helps more than into the belly fat. While those can be true on an individual level, this is not what we see across large groups of people.
When you have the proper forms and dosages, oral and injectable BPC-157 work about equal in most people.

It most definitely works and I’ve been on the TB500

But it’s a peptide. Wouldn’t your digestive system break down the peptide into individual amino acids with proteases?
Not for BPC-157, as it's stable in the stomach as it comes from the parent peptide BPC which is naturally found in the stomach
I just ordered the oral bpc 157 pro 500 from infiniwell and hoping it can help fix nagging pain in my shoulders, also doing a lot of posture corrective exercises to get my body moving/functioning right bio mechanically. I hope I can find relief eventually. Ive had shoulder issues since injured myself in high school. I've been on the injectable for a week and a half now for a bicep tendon thats been killing me. The first week I was thinking I probably wasted my money. This stuff probably won't help anything. Plus it's to expensive. The second week the pain was completely gone. I'm a welder/fabricator. So I figured it'd be hurting by the end of the day because I constantly have to pick up over 100lbs. Of course I'm not trying to make it hurt. So I'm being careful with it. But it hasn't hurt again yet. I'm gonna still take it easy for a while. It hurt so bad before I thought I'd end up losing my job. I don't know how long I should wait to try working out with it. But then I also noticed that i hadn't had any issues with my stomach ulcer in the time I'd been doing bpc 157. It's been great for me in a real short time. But I can't afford to pay for injectable all the time. So I'll be switching to oral pretty soon. Hopefully I'll have the same results. Do you still recommend DNA Health?

The original formula in all of the (animal) studies does not have SNAC. The main company who distributes in the US added SNAC just because they thought it would help. I like using the original
I have a partial quad tendon tear. I can walk fine and can even jog a bit but I feel pain going up and down stairs. Also there is an "indent" on my quad. Any chance BPC-157 can work on my quad tendon?
Unlikely that BPC-157 is going to heal that. You would likely need something more aggressive such as PRP or stem cell therapy to heal the defect (the indent)

My clinic - regenerativeperformance.com
Some say it’s better with food but I have the arg salt one so I don’t think it matters
it definitely matters less with the arginate salt, but it's still better on an empty stomach because you will absorb it so much faster and that means less time in the stomach acid

No you dont need to inject at site of injury but it works better if you do
You just said it doesnt matter where you inject it. Will capsules have the same effect?
Capsules and injectable are equal in efficacy in most people. Some people will notice one form works better than the other, but for most people they are equal. Plus, right now you can't get pharmaceutical grade BPC-157 injectable anymore, and we strongly recommend you not to get injectable off a website because the risk of toxins is high. This is why re recommend the oral.
We use the BPC-157 capsules from InfiniWell as they use the arginate salt. To help out, we have a 20% patient discount code on our website regenerativeperformance.com/supplements (code is RP20). The most common starting dose we use with patients is 500mcg, once per day on an empty stomach. The time of day doesn't really matter in our opinion. We normally have patients take BPC-157 for at least a month to determine if they see improvements, but sometimes it takes longer to see effects as tissue healing takes time. We then have patients continue on the BPC-157 for several months, and then we might trial taking them off to see if their symptoms remained improved or if they regress. If they regress, we put them back on it.

Do you recommend 250mcg a day or starting at 250 and increasing to 500. Also, do you recommend any other supplements to take with it to possibly increase the healing process?
500mcg is the standard recommendation, and I can't make personalized recommendations for you as you're not my patient sorry
You taking bpc orally or injection just wanna know if orally healing injury same like injection
Shouldn't the oral administration be less available, due to the digestive process?
For most things yes it's a big difference. For BPC-157 there is still a reduction, but the absorption is still super high because BPC157 is stable in the stomach. Because of that, and being equally effective, we recommend oral for most people as it's easier and more cost effective.

Hey doc.
I cannot find a clear answer to this question.
Will bpc 157 arginate orally administrated have the same benefits to the brain as an injection subq?
Or will it be mostly helpful for gut health, but less efficient to the brain health?
From the studies im reading, there should be a systematic effect regardless of administration route, and as long as the bioavailability is high, I don't see a reason why would it be mostly beneficial to the gut in pill form, but not to the brain.
Could you please share your thoughts on this?
Thank you!
All routes of administration are equal in efficacy in all tissues, in most people. Individual variations do exist though

Hi, apologise in advance the long comment, I just need help and advice.
I’m a 18 year old power lifter, and I’ve struggled with an ache/painful shoulder for 8 months. It got slightly better 4 months ago, and I built up strength slowly, but then it went again. It’s not a sudden pain or impingement, it’s a really dull ache and instability mixed with acute pain. After months of calling the docters, we got an MRI which concluded rotator cuff tendinitis. but they are investigating the diagnosis more due to the length of the injury.I swim, get massages, eat really well, supplement and do physio exercises. Admittedly, I get rather impatient and can’t go more than 2 weeks without trying to incorporate some type of upper body stimulation. Wether that be light bicep curls, lateral raises or press ups.
I’m going to start pinning BCP-157 SubQ at a 300 mcg dosage daily. I will be doing this into the shoulder, but in a subQ manner. I will then incorporate tb500 at around week 3.
I will then inject both for another 1-2 months.
Please don’t comment “you’re young and will be fine or let it rest”. You have to understand my life is the gym, my family and friends are all there. Regardless of the age I need help.
Any tips or Anecdotal feedback will be much appreciated.
Hey man, sorry to hear you've been going through all of this. I can't give you direct medical advice as that can only happen in an appointment with me, and this is on RUclips, but I can give you some general guidance.
If you have instability, you should look at working with someone who is trained in prolotherapy/PRP injections, and make sure they use image guidance for their injections. Obviously you can come work with me in Arizona, but there are other docs out there that can help you. If you feel unstable, the shoulder joint is likely unstable and you should see if you're a candidate for regenerative injections such as PRP or stem cell therapy, or if you're a surgical candidate. Ligament laxity, which is usually the cause of the instability, is not well seen on an MRI most of the time, so you need a good thorough physical exam in order to know if the shoulder is truly unstable.
If the shoulder is unstable, injections combined with physical therapy and peptides are often the best approach. Usually the peptides alone won't fully work for ligament laxity, and direct injections are crucial.
Hope this helps point you in the right direction.
Dan, was wondering how your approach went if you could give me some guidance I’m in a similar boat as you but with my elbow and forearm. Been wanting to take bpc and tb for a while now. Let me know

Hey Dr. Just ruptured my Achilles. Was thinking of starting with dna healths oral bpc. Then potentially moving to subQ near the site when I can. Based on what you're saying I might just stick with orals. Would you suggest 500 mg 2x a day or 250mg twice a day? Any other suggestions for this type injury would be great. Considering TB -500 as well. Thanks Dr!
Don't need to do subQ near the site, it does nothing extra. Stick with oral IMO. Make sure you've got lots of collagen on board (40g per day), vitamin c (2-10g per day based on what your gut can tolerate), and then we like use pro resolving mediators as well (SPM active). You can find that one here - us.fullscript.com/welcome/rp
Does take it orally not mean the stomach acid destroys them as the peptides so fragile?
That doesn't apply to the arginate salt form of BPC-157 as its very stable in the gut.
Anything to note about IM administration then?
Faster absorption, not sure if that's actually worth anything clinically though compared to subQ
I started the BPC-157 500mcg oral capsules from DNA Health a few days ago in an attempt to improve chronic GI symptoms. Since day 1 of taking them, I've had a really significant increase in watery diarrhea. From searching online, it seems like others have had similar experiences (though it doesn't appear very common). Is this something you've seen at all? And if so, is it something that goes away once the body acclimates? I'm on day 3, and I'm still having the same symptoms. The consensus online seems to be that diarrhea from BPC-157 is due to a contaminated batch or the inclusion of mannitol (but I don't think either of those are likely from DNA Health?). I'm just wondering what an appropriate amount of time to wait to see if my body adjusts would be.
It's weird because this stuff is supposed to help with GI symptoms and leaky gut to...
We have only seen it twice in our practice. We've suspected that it's changing gut flora in such a fashion that it's causing bowel movement changes. If we pause and then support the gut more we can resume BPC-157 without issue (this happened with both cases)

I suffered many neurological problems and then a "probiotic" (saccharomyces boulardii) destroyed my digestive system for good. I also have skin damage and wound healing problems. What dosage do you recommend for someone who's first trying it?
I'm terribly sorry to hear that. We would probably start at 250mcg per day to see how you respond and then move you up to 500mcg twice per day if you're doing well
He doesn't even know what your talking about...tb500 is more systematically for example..you would be best off injecting bpc 157 around the injury..it is true don't listen to this person
Site specific subq injections are bro science. I've made a video on this recently explaining how subcutaneous site specific injections don't reach the area you are injecting over anymore than subq in the abdomen.
@@DrewTimmermansNDwhat about cortisol injections why are they done at the site then? By every doctor
The cortisone injections are done INTO the area of damage (inside the knee joint, into the tendon sheath, etc), not subcutaneously over the area of pain. Those are different.
Would bpc and tb 500 help with a severe thigh contusion?
yea TB500 is probably more important as it helps reduce fibrosis, but this should be in conjunction with the other recommendations your doctors are giving you
Can you take tb500 orally also? And were would someone buy this?
No you can't, it will degrade in the gut. It has to be injectable which means it should come from a pharmacy through a doctor
@Drew Timmermans, ND thanks for reply. Kinda like I got my MD doctors. Right here on youtube. Love itttt
