    Just a tip for anyone who wants to do a lot of breeding, work on building what I call the Hexperfect 7. What this does is gives you a father to use no matter what pokemon you want to breed that will have 6iv's to pass on (so if you use destiny knot the child has a really good chance of getting at least a few perfect IVs, especially if the mother has 3-4). The ones I use are Bulbasaur(Monster/Grass), Shellos(Water1/Amorphous), Magikarp(Water2/Dragon), Archen(Water3/Flying), Volbeat(Bug/Human-like), Snorunt(Mineral/Fairy), and Smeargle(Field). It may take a while to get to it, as it will require some luck, but if you manage to breed a male of each of those with 6 perfect IVs then you will have a father for every egg group. You can modify the pokemon you need a bit, but I haven't been able to figure out a combo that gets it down to 6 pokemon yet. Good luck and may your eggs be full of shinies.

    The stars representing the IVs is actually a missconception...
    I also used to believe that too, but everytime I went to calculate the IVs of the pokémon I catched, I found out that it doesn't exactly works like that (even though a pokémon with 3 stars DO can have 3 IVs)...
    The thing you're seeing there is (as the game say) the potential of that pokémon [The Pokémon can potentially have Great IVs]; having a star gives you automatically 1 IV at 31, but all the other stats can vary, however, those are probably low, 2 stars gives you at least 1 stat at 31 but the other stats will probably be regular (with the possibility of 2 IVs); as for 3 stars, you have at least 1 IV, and all the other stats are rather good (from 25 to 30), but not perfect (also with the possibility to have 3 IVs at 31).
    I've been doing chains and stuff like that for shinines and discovered this by accident because I thought that I'd use those pokémon for breeding later, anyways, hope you appreciate this info and share it for the world!
    UGH... that took a lot to write...

    • @kilokloX
      @kilokloX 10 лет назад +11

      btw... I also found (and it's EXTREMELY RARE) that a Pokémon with 3 stars can have perfect IVs (5-6 IVs at 31), but its almost impossible

      @kilokloX 10 лет назад +1

      I was breeding for Shiny Shinx at Battle Resort, and wanted to breed another Pokémon without taking my Luxray and Japanese Emolga out of the Daycare at the Battle Resort. So I went to the Daycare on Route 117 to breed for a Dedenne. Then when I went to hatch that Dedenne egg along with my last batch of Shinx eggs from Battle Resort, I had a Shiny Shinx hatch on Route 117 with Ice Fang, Fire Fang, Quick Attack and Hidden Power Grass. She had Jolly Nature with Intimidate ability and with "Serperior" IVs in HP, Defense and Special Defense.

      +mattyburrito MB They can have all stats maxed out like Ally Mitchell said but since the Destiny Knot only passes along 5 stats the 6th stat will be left up to chance (so you have a 1 in 31 chance of getting that final perfect IV).

    for those who don't understand what he meant: when you see the shops for moves in exchange for bp, hug the one sticking out the farthest, then when you're as close as possible, press left, then when you get to a corner, hold up, then you go in a loop until you let go of up, you'r welcome :) also how many times do you have to battle the young couple to get the destiny knot, can you get it with a pokemon that knows pickup, and how do you get both bikes? or what do you mean?

But who knows what they'd actually identify as- they can be whatever feels right since they're non-binary by nature, yeah? XD

    @Verlisify Worth noting: The fellow at the Pokemon Center at the Battle Resort who tells you about the intriguing potential of your Pokemon is not quite as straight forward as you mentioned around 6:52.
    -When he tells you something initially such as your Pokemon having an "outstanding potential overall" etc, this indicates how many separate stats have high IV potential (this phrase does not indicate the value of any one IV)
    -After this, he mentions "I would say its best stat is 'x'" etc, and this tells which stat(s) is/are HIGHEST for that Pokemon...but this doesn't necessarily mean that they are MAXED (with a value of 31)
    -If he says "I would say its (insert stat here) is its best stat...stats like those...they simply can't be beat!", this phrase in particular ("simply can't be beat!") is what tells you that the given IV is at its maximum potential value of 31.
    -If a given Pokemon has a moderately high (but not maximum) IV, he may say "I would say its (insert stat here) is its best stat...it really has some fantastic stats overall". This phrase (fantastic stats overall) would indicate that the given stat(s) have higher IV potential, but not maximum (0

  • @nowmowcow
    @nowmowcow 9 лет назад +7

    Just so everyone knows (nobody really seems to...) a perfectly bred pokemon in fact has ALL SIX IVs at 31 not just 5. Believe you me it is in fact possible, but I have never seen it done without double destiny knot, I just bred a TRUE perfect Ratata on Alph Saph yesterday, and to put things in perspective, I finally found a shiny at egg #934, and Still hadn't succeeded at breeding 6 ivs yet....that didn't happen till #970 something and I don't use any shiny increasing things, so yeaaaaaah it takes a ridiculous amount of time to get all 6 ivs just know that the dozens of people with channels talking about perfect ivs are all really just half-assing it when they say 5 is done XD

    • @Verlisify
      @Verlisify  9 лет назад +1

      nowmowcow no, its just that there is mostly no point of having a beneficial IV in a hindering nature. You are only getting the effect of 5 and its perfect

    • @nowmowcow
      @nowmowcow 9 лет назад

      ***** yes I know, I wouldn't have gone through such trouble if it wasn't better at least by a little, a neutral nature, good ability and 6 perfect 31s IV :) There is no way to get a better average across the board

    • @avajo2155
      @avajo2155 9 лет назад +2

      nowmowcow Well, sometimes you don't want that 6th IV. For example, if you're breeding a Chandelure, you definitely don't want that perfect attack IV, actually, the lower the better, because moves like Foul Play will only do more damage if you have a higher attack, and Chandelure is also weak to dark. Plus, it doesn't need to use physical attacks. So there's really no point. Also, you don't want a neutral nature for Ratata. Jolly or Adamant's probably best.
      I did breed a 6IV Honedge yesterday, though, but that was purely by accident. It only took about 10 eggs.

    • @avajo2155
      @avajo2155 9 лет назад

      nowmowcow Yes, yes, technically that's true -- but don't we all have our own ideas about perfection?
      The only Raticate I run is a Super Fang one. So great for taking down walls and sweepers! Just give Raticate a Focus Sash and... bam! The enemy's weakened in a single hit! I also love FEAR Rattata for no reason in particular, just the opponent's reaction is priceless!

    On the thing with the Destiny Knot, fighting the couple didn't work for me (got impatient) and winning Master Rank contest (too time consuming) didn't work for me.
    This is what I did. (Warning: Be aware that some people may take your Pokémon holding Destiny Knot)
    You need a Pokemon X or Y game for this to work. What I did was I went to the hotel in Cyllage City, went upstairs and talked to the first maid that I saw. Talking to her would give you a Destiny Knot. I took a Pokémon of my own (this can be any Pokémon) gave it Destiny Knot, put it on GTS along with a message to identify that it's mine and a required Pokémon for the trade (I picked Zigzagoon). I then booted up Alpha Sapphire, went on GTS and looked for the Pokémon that I put on GTS. When the trade was finished, the Pokémon that I put is still holding Destiny Knot.

  • @WillKincaid
    @WillKincaid 8 лет назад +3

    Breeding is the most miserable and the most time consuming part of pokemon, the mechanics should be further simplified so that people can breed more effectivly with less effort. bc nobody should have to spend hundreds of hours building a team that could just get wrecked un the meta and having to start over again and again, thats not fun, its tedious drivel. HAX now Strategy makes the trainer, not boring game mechanics

      I agree with you that why I use my Xatu with power swap, guard swap, skill swap and U turn with the ability Early Bird in online competitive play. My Xatu is the ultimate troll against perfect IV and legendary pokemon

      @davidjuarez300 6 лет назад

      Will Kincaid imo i love the grind i rarely do competitive battles because i get rekt by the meta but its so awesome having shiny perfect iv pokemon its something about the journey that makes it worth it because you got a legitimate perfect shiny haha.

    Want to battle competitively? Want to breed the biggest and baddest critters this side of Hoenn? Well, you'll need a lot of luck, determination... and probably an academic degree in Pokemon Genetics. This guide's a good place to start, though.

      ***** lol this is actually a great guide verlis. :P I hadn't watched it before now, and decided I should. BTW, can I ask why breeding hates me? Im trying to breed Whismur ROFL because I actually need an exploud lol, and Im breeding a 3iv dexnav whismur with my 6iv ditto,(note I have destiny knot on the whismur and everstone on ditto for the nature), but the huge issue, the whismur that Im hatching are only ~3-4ivs. *my reaction after hatching a whole box that were shitty* Y U H8 ME BREEDING. So yeah explain this xD

    Passing down balls isn't all about aesthetics. For Eevee in particular, and others that evolve through friendship, luxury balls are a nice added functionality. Also, Volcarona is another Pokémon that has access to both Fly and Flame Body.

    An excellent vid! I have been breeding 5 IV shiny pokemon for some time now... It take a lot of it.. time... But it's cool, because I've gotten some amazing rewards: Shiny 5 IV Sableye, Shiny 5 IV Deino, Shiny 5 IV Drowzee with special egg moves (Hypno's my fav. and I had a shiny in Silver, OG Silver, so yay nostalgia)... I highly recommend putting the time into this. I've not gotten a 6 IV Shiny yet, but I will, and when I do, I will have achieved poke demigodhood...

    17 eggs later I managed to get a 100% perfect male Eevee.
    Started with a male Eevee with 4 perfect stats and a female Eevee with 3 perfect stats. Had 5 eggs at a time and wrote down all their stats on a notepad app. 9th egg had a male with 5 perfect stats. Switched to it (let's not tell the male and female that they are related). Continued with 5 eggs at a time while I watched some Pokémon S3.
    Now I just gotta get a perfect female and go for a shiny, and maybe fix their nature.
