This was so much fun to do!
Like you always say, keep on pointin'
I'm so glad you LOVED THE THEME SO MUCH!!!!
Keep on pointin'!
You are honestly the funniest among all of the dnd creators on youtube and it makes me really happy every time I see you in a collab with others, keep up the amazing work
🫡 appreciate you all for doing this, yeeeeEeeEEEEE!!
@@pointyhatstudios especially the theme
bro your hat is pointy but those intro graphics were SMOOTH af! 🔥🔥
I know you
honestly, the whole concept of having one monster that can embody a number of holidays was absolutely genius
you should collab with the hat more, you two do good work. also, I'm really hoping that Instagram artist gig works out for him
Thank you for the monster! 🥳
"I knew if I messaged you every day, multiple times a day, you would eventually, come crawling back"
Dude that made me burst out laughing 😂
drinking game, take a shot every time I do the wiggly "puppeteer" fingers
We only have one liver though...
All of you should do more collabs.
And I'm drunk. Thanks Ginny.
Can someone leave the actual count
I haven't seen ALL of your videos but I'm petty sure you have, in fact, appeared as a cute holiday elf in one of them. If you havent, there's always next year.
Truegreen7 and Pointy Hat collabed once and then immediately stole each other’s ideas, huh. In all seriousness, I’d be all for this becoming a series in the future.
You can't prove anything
Not suspicious
Not suspicious at alll
Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. If it's mutual, it's almost cute.
Darn i was too slow to comment basically the same haha
This video really made me realize how many meme references (memes per minute - mpm) Antonio makes in his videos compared to his collaborators in this one. Ginny was completely left behind haha.
Truly superior meme game, I tip my hat at you, Pointy Hat!
yeah, unfortunately I'm too busy having a life and touching grass. I'm sure Pointy Hat can't relate!! 😈
So what you're saying is the next collaboration should be Pointy Hat/Hat Historian
@@GinnyDi I don't touch grass, there isn't any, I touch rocks and dirt.
@@GinnyDi I thought you didn't have time to touch grass? I don't know how you manage to record your shorts, considering you have to change makeup and haircut for most scenes and still posting them almost every week, but man, do I find it impressive
Pointy Hat: I need an idea for my video.
*Remembers his colab with Truegreen7*
Pointy Hat: I got it!
I was about to make that comment!
Lmao fr
It's funny, cause the thumbnail made me think it was a Truegreen7 video
"Truegreen7 with a twist"
Did he HAVE to make thirst edits for each of them? No, but he did anyway, and THAT'S the mark of a true artist!
Huma familiar is a booty guru imon Insta and various
Thirst or first?
"It's a power move to hang up first so-"
*immediately hangs up without any explanation*
My poor sides, I laughed so hard.
On my screen, youtube decided to start playing an add at that exact moment for a weighted blanket dragon plushie, so I thought DnDShorts just abruptly started plugging his merch in the middle of Pointyhat's video. 🤣
D&D Shorts keeps it short😂.
Actually, two of these are my favorite DnD RUclipsrs!! Thanks for the awesome content like usual Pointy Hat!
imagine being that third person
@@SwedishFox there's a 33% chance that I don't have to imagine that 😌
@GinnyDi don't worry, you four are my four favorite dnd youtubers.
You are ALL MY FAVORITES SO THERE
that's hilarious who tf say something like this lol
Antonio: “I can’t draw [good] on an iPad” … proceeds to draw better than I could ever dream of on said iPad.
do you draw?
Better than I could draw in any medium!
Also, if you like this art, check out his books on Hit Point Press the drawings are so cute for the Witch class that I'm going to buy the book just for that!

Pointy Hat doing "a lot of the work"
My immediate reaction: 🎶HUMAN FAMI-LIAR!!!🎶
29:21 no thank you for all the 100% certified free D&D content
My partner and I absolutely lost it at the “Hunter Gatherer” part because of an inside joke. You give us more reasons to love your channel with every video
the second "monster" is basically a Heinzelmännchen, in German folklore it is a small house spirit who does work at night...
Or brownies, etc. Quite a few similar to the idea.
Boggarts
I literally just watched the Runesmith video foreshadowing this collab, can't wait to see what they all came up with!
Always a pleasure to see Ginny and Antonio just being friends goofing around, also loving Boss being here
Merry X-Mas Pointy Hat!!!
... and human familiar, I guess.
True green 7: What if I grab a bunch of other creators to draw my brand of content?
Pointy Hat: What if I do that, but with a lot stranger!? And I give myself all the drawing work! Wait, what?!
This is awesome! I’d love more collabs like this, maybe with channels like Cleric Corner, Dungeon Dudes, and the DMs Lair! Great job!
You know it's a good collab when you unironically laugh out loud at the jokes.
Man. Pointy Hat is such a precious golden part of internet. This video just makes me so happy idk
Well dang, that's a timely opening of the YT app
Real
I really enjoy your highly theatrical videos working for that pointed hat, but it's also really nice to see you kick back and banter with people like this too.
Keep up the quality content my man - always happy to see a video from you in my feed.
Wishing you a Happy Holiday and all the success in the new year!
Ngl I would cry on the spot if I got that reaction from coming up with a theme
This vid just feels like friends hangin n I love that for them. Top notch editing too
Oh this was amazing, I’d absolutely love to see more crossovers like this!
The bobakik is like a twisted Mr. Meeseeks. Here's an interesting story idea: what if it ended up in a house where the owner did a job that it COULDN'T do? How would it react?
So it turns out it's not so easy to drill into an asteroid to drop a nuke. 😉😁

Ok that sponsored segment caught me SO by surprise I actually thought there was gonna be a Pointy Hat monster in addition to the other three. Well done, bravo, amazing segway… the sheer confusion from the contradiction into the sudden realization “oh he’s talking about the sponsor, ok”, I just had to say something
Runesmith with Otonoke as his theme works surprisingly well.
For real
Ginny's monster idea: plausible deniability 😂😂
Love the normal pointy hat stuff but I found this particularly hilarious and entertaining. I feel like the lighthearted chat vibe while drawing could would make a really cool video podcast format.
I genuinely love the theme, my idea for a creature is immediately one that co-opts an existing holiday in order to feed on the mirth and worship of the holiday, kinda like a Cuckoo for holidays. Just like how Christians took over Saturnalia into Christmas and how corporations then turned thay religious holiday into one of buying and buying, the creature would seek out holidays and festivals that it would try to resemble the iconic figure of as a disguise. Why is it doing that? It wants to become a god, and it believes the worship it gains from taking over holidays would be a path towards divinity, kinda like how Santa Claus has become the face of Christmas despite it being about Jesus at first and about Saturn during Saturnalia.
"It wants to become a God"
Idk why but that sentence made me laugh, like "oh casually wants to be GOD"
We took over Saturnalia? Huh, I thought we took over Mithra's birthday.
@@Oddmanoutre i believe it was kinda both, since they're both held on 25th and was used by Christians to co-opt their own holiday as a form of control over the pagans, but Saturnalia was in Rome whereas Mithra's birthday was celebrated more around Persia.
@@crimsoneclipse0618 Well, yes and no. Mithraism was relatively popular in Rome, too ( as was Sol Invictus. Yes I own a copy of the Encyclopedia of Heretics and Heresies. Who Doesn't?).
THis is a really cool idea! I wondered about this same phenomenon a lot, especially around christmas and easter, but never thought of it as a creature idea!
Logan's Fey looks like a fusion between an Armadillo and a Hamster while also being transmogrified by what I assume to be the mutant juice that created the Turtles in TNMT. I love it!!!
i would KILL for the chance to show anything i've made to PH, let alone receive a challenge form them. i hope to see more of these collab creative challenge things!!
Careful with the acronyms mate
Have you considered featuring fan-submitted homebrew content in between your main videos? You could critique and review them, offering feedback and spotlighting the most creative ones! I think it would be realllly cool! To make it even more engaging, you could create a timelapse of yourself drawing art inspired by your favorite submission to play in the background of the review!
18:20 Would be cool if when you continue to work, some of these cute things will think that it's help wasn't enough and will try progressively harder and harder to help at your job, until it would gain skill beyond your comprehension.
For example, if you a clockwork master and don't take a break/vacation, little helper will make clockwork in your designs smaller and intricate each consecutive day, hide the power sources so masterfuly, that you can barely tell how these machines work. At some point it will become impossible to tell, how solid slabs of metal are moving seamingly on their own without any springs or even magic.
Luckily enough, these creatures have rather short memory span and don't accumulate any knowledge beyond helping one person, basicly reseting each time they "helped" someone.
Ok so the longterm goal here is to eventually collab with June/ActuallyRea, and make they create an OC that'll later consume their whole life, right?
Pointy and Ginny have great comedic chemistry, actually? Like actually really fun, I hope they do more stuff together.
Human Familiar gets his own intro song? Awesome
the eyes of the elf scream overtime work, overnight pain, overdue divorce
4:09 gonna be that guy here for a sec and let everyone know that 9/10 times those elephants in those painting videos are physically abused and hurt into “learning” how to paint.
Unfortunately, more people need to be that guy or people won't learn anything
I've always wondered though, would it be possible to teach them in a non-harmful way? Like, they're smart enough to appreciate beauty and dexterous enough to use tools. I've always wondered if, by sitting next to a baby elephant and painting everyday, the elephant would end up picking up a brush off its own volition.
@@xisco5525 They probably would get interested by it tbh.
Is there anything more Ginny Di than a Be Fey, Do Crimes monster?
I don't know WHAT you mean 😇
But Pointy Hat you’ve changed my life!!!!! I look forward to all of your videos and me and one of my friends ping each other to see who saw it first. Merry holidays!!!!!!
Instead of Lawful/Chaotic and Good/Evil the Fey alignment chart is based on whether they want to hurt you and whether they know it hurts you
Lawful/Chaotic is instead following etiquette or not
@pandoratheclay I'm not sure they have a choice in that matter beyond whether or not they're using it against you
I'm floored by how well PH puts the creature descriptions into drawn art in realtime. I remember the episode where PH was laid off from the game dev job - I'm really happy to hear he is doing OK creating content full time.
Thank you so much, Pointy Hat (and human familiar) for everything that you do. You are genuinely my favorite content creator and there aren't words in the English language to describe how excited I get whenever I see you post a new video. I REALLY want to get the Arcane Codex but am super stressed financially at the moment, so I hope that they'll still be available for pre-order whenever I can afford it.
Seriously, your stuff is incredible and I have been planning to adapt some of it for my group's Daggerheart game
I was in the midst of watching an educational RUclips video, as one does on a random Friday when your video popped up and I spit out my ramen noodles and clicked it so fast! I am always working when you're videos come out but I have today off and it twas a pleasure to be one of the few thousand people to watch it as you posted it!
12:45 ngl, you had me in the first half
I was lowkey like: "that's kinda just a Jiggypuff" XD
Jigglypuff as a name has all the same boba type soft sounds, so there is probably something in that.
@davidjennings2179 Thing is, it wasn't for the bobakik. It was for the bait-and-switch creature he made for the ad sponsor! XD
I dont think Ive ever seen Runesmith's face so I was like "Who is that!?" Then I heard the voice and I was like "Omg I watch everyone here!" 😅
Thanks for the great video Point Hat. Sure it was a lot of work on its own to rangle everyone, cus as we all know, the greatest Monster in all D&D games is scheduling. Lol
Edit: OH MY GOD I love the Bobakik!! O:
I wanna use him so bad he's adorable and has so much potential for drama at the same time.
3:18 the way his face just drops at their nonplussed reactions 😂
I've always admired your artwork in an abstract "professional artist" kind of way, but actually seeing you draw them on screen i just need to reiterate how incredible you are!
Seriously, these look so freaking good! i wish i had half the skill to draw artwork like this!
And you just bashed these out on an unfamiliar tablet during a conversation???
Ive been here since like 10k subs, man your drawing is amazing. Love to see the timelapse happen in real time, more of this!
This was so good! I was a little sad that although they were all supposed to be non-denominational they focused on Christmas. Love the creature concepts though, definitely planning to put the wine spirit in my game!
I have a god named "The Blind Painter" he is the creator god of the world and painted it like a canvas. Czepeku add reminded me of it.
Gotta say, that is actually an excellent theme. Vague but with extremely evocative imagery, and with multiple meanings. It's a perfect jumping-off point for creativity.
Wow, one of my favorite episodes of anything on RUclips this month.
All of these are so good, but I especially LOVE the Bobaki/Kikibob - it reminds me so much of classic house spirits from folklore, like brownies or the tomte, which are some of my favorite kinds of fae! (Especially the little detail of it working until its fingers bleed, that feels right in line with an old fairytale.) This was so much fun, I hope you do more collabs like this in this coming year!
I know this is because of hardware problems, but I really like this video format. Your art brings such life to these character ideas. I think it would be great to see more videos like this. Of course everything is great that you do, but this was also really good.
Thanks for this one.
I watched it before starting my shift on the 31 of december as I work at 5h drive from my friends and family.
It made the day a bit brighter and now I want to incorpore those monsters into my games ^^
Have yourself a wonderful end of years and I'm glad this channel makes your life better.
Hope it continues to bring you joy, however it does. So take it easy and keep having fun :)
that Ginny montage with Genesis felt so right.
Loved Runesmith's monster the most. Hope u make more of these vids
Awesome vid idea, awesome collab, awesome monsters, awesome art!!!
I was gonna say wow Logan’s monster follows the consonant phenomenon like perfectly, and then he said it was what he based it off of, well done all around!
"Oh it's just a little fae seeking attention,"
"just like me..."
*DEAD*💀💀💀
1) This was soso cute. Cute ideas, cute artwork, cute humans, 100/10 perfect amount of cute.
2) Your first illustration for Ginny's monster reminds me SO MUCH of Darla from Cat's Don't Dance and I looooove it!
OMG the back and forth is too real and raw. Love it.
The Ginny / Pointy Hat interactions are unhinged and I love it
Your illustrations are amazing! 😱 I can’t get over how good they look ❤️
19:14 "It's loosely based on an observed phenomenon where humans ascribe certain consonants and sounds to physical traits" That's literally called the bouba-kiki effect, and it is a worldwide thing. It suggests that there is a cross-modal connection between our senses, particularly between hearing and sight ("oo" and "ah" are often associated with soft and round objects, whereas "k" and "t" are often associated with sharp and angular objects).
Bobakiki is as adorable as he is relatable!! The constant need for validation hits right home
It was so fun to see all of y'all go a little bit off script and just geek out for a minute! Also crazy that's your first time drawing on iPad! I know you said you don't like it but the illustrations all came out as well as any others you've put out. I'm always floored by the fact that you have both consistently fresh and great ideas AND are a stunning artist! Save some talent for everyone else, and happy holidays!
You’re such an awesome dude and you deserve 100% of the success you’ve had and will continue to have
I adore Logan's concept. It feels EXTREMELY folklore-y. Kids would mention it when they try and help, parents would mention it to their overworked children. It'd be so cute to pepper around your world.
These are amazing! I love the idea of collaborating with different DND RUclipsrs and the fact that each of them are some of my favourite RUclipsrs is the cherry on top!
Pointy! This was amazing and beautiful. The drawings were so on point! I adore human familiar - be nice to him!
29:42 it’s gotta be dragons 😂
I love Dragons!
Great video! I really enjoy seeing other creators displayed on your channel, and I hope we can see more in the future!
I would love to see a continuation of this video, turning it into a series, or something else even more exiting!
HA ! Jokes on you, i was already subscribed to all 3 of your guests.
Amazing designs, have a happy Christmas and happy new year !
It's a delight to see collabs like this, you guys are fun alone, but are great together! Amazing art as always, Hat!
Kinda inspired me to do my own idea of this. "Christmas spirit", in a vague, general sense instantly put an image of a holiday to me, one taking place in late summer, early autumn, one with warm colors of autumn and still warm temperature of summer; a holiday focused on songs, dances in good company, warm bonfires burning in villages, people gathering to simply enjoy their own company, and being uncritically carefree. So yeah, it's NOT Christmas-y, since it has more of a "campfire with friends" feel than the warm fireplace with cocoa of christmas. But the creature(s) I came up with instantly came to mind with that concept.
The most general concept is that sometimes, a creature is born of a concept in people's collective thought, such as the Easter Bunny - Such thoughts and needs for wonder and fun are given life. With this, what I creatively named "Lock-a-Knocks". Small goblin-like creatures that work as a collective, each around a foot tall, most similar in looks to Sableye the Pokemon, except with thinner, more lanky limbs and their "Ears" more spiky, their bodies seem to be made out of smooth, candleflame-like light. Their eyes appear as cartoony red X-shapes
They appear with the holiday and seem to linger around for a bit, popping up here and there, though people rarely get a good look at them. They have no problem sneaking into houses and hiding just out of sight. As the name suggests, the most common way of knowing they're there is that they often knock on doors and from inside walls to wake people up, or randomly lock objects in the house that can be locked, often misplacing the keys or other objects. It does, however, pay to be on your best behavior because they may notice you are a good person and leave you a unique item (Often magical) as a gift, or punish you by rotting all the food in your house, stealing mundane items or cursing you with unbearable itching.
It is noteworthy that none of those "Mean" activities are harmful, and if someone, even a player character, gets hurt as a result, they will still recieve a small gift as an apology from the creatures. It is also said that the exact number of them is 2001, they de-manifest when the holiday season ends and autumn fully comes. They're drawn to written poetry and will eat pages from books that contain it. Aside from all the things mentioned before, they can also turn invisible, have Uncanny dodge and probably most importantly, they are NOT fey, or undead. They don't actually fall under any class, they're completely unique and a few of the rare things that would fall under "uncategorized"
You missed the chance to have a hilarious jone when introducing dnd shorts
Pointy hat: hello shorts
Dnd shorts: hello pants 😅
Watching you create the art for these creatures as they are being described was magical!
10:19 hahahaha I am the group artist, I make a bunch of tiny mini’s, maps, and PC tokens / PC standees
This is one of my two "good times good vibes and happy times" youtube channels to watch. the content is fun and engaging, the mood is IMMACULATE, and the art + ideas + content is epic. keep up the great work and keep being a great huma-HAT. keep being a good HAT.
These are such cool monsters. Really fricking creative
These are all super cool! Love seeing these creators collab as well!
This Collab and the Drawings made my day. I am supposed to be working on my weekly one shot, and not only was I entertained, I got some ideas to spice up my game for tomorrow.
Great video! Ive always thought a monster based on the nutcracker story would be cool. Since the main antagonist of that story is a 3 headed mouse king, their opposite would be a tinkering rat village. They created autonomous clockwork nutcrackers to carry out basic tasks for them, and to parade in the streets during the holidays. However, once the mice attack, they are transformed into semi-sentient nutcracker soldiers, which can be retro fitted with all sorts of weaponry. I think that would be my idea for a non denomination holiday themed monster.
I love all these interactions! I desire more collabs.
The first thing that comes to my mind when thinking of holiday spirit is a monster that attacks towns and disrupts their holidays at every calender holiday, but always designs his schemes in such a way that the people end up happier than before he came, tho my brain immediately commited suicide at the thought of developing this concept further, so do with this what you like if it seems cool
I'm always amazed at the skill you artists have! I'm always just like HOW HOW!?!?
You were 100% that kid in Art class where you say I’m not good at art but then proceeded to make the next Mona Lesa
Genuinely all of my favorite Dnd creators right here doing a collab too...perfection! All we're missing is Dungeon Dad and the Dudes and it would've been the ultimate collab.
The first thing I thought of was Neanderthals Like going back to the earliest type of humans, and I thought of Neander-claws which is the name that they gave for their version of Sasquatch and they discovered it on the earliest concept of holidays for those Protopeople.
The animated grave of Saint Nick
this video flew by, you guys should definitely collab more often
I adore how the holiday drink spirit's splash shape forms kinda a margarita glass shape, it's so amazing
Oh my gosh, I'm so gonna try and use these someday!!! And the art is great, too! Don't undersell yourself. That stuff is quality that a lot of artists like me strive for. Personally, I think you'd be well served by doing more stuff like it in the future! I have a favorite, however. Pangolins. ...Yeah, I'm a total sucker for them as my profile picture might suggest.
Dang though.... that banter! Didn't think you and Will had would be Sonic and Knuckles -style friendship. 🤣
3:37 idk if I just have not paid attention but I have never seen the human familiar with glasses on and I was not prepared. 10/10
I might just use all three in one encounter for maximum chaos.
Run it like "Assault on Precinct 13" but it's Kris Kringle's workshop. The Bobakiks showed up, and basically put the Frostlings out of work. But they've been getting worked to the bone because Kringle doesn't understand the situation. Meanwhile, there's an entire rack of gifted alcohol that Kringle has just been leaving there and at this point the Holiday Spirits are just pissed off. The man never takes a break, so all these holidays kept getting skipped.
Give it a solid set piece environment where they are snowed in at the workshop, so running would be impossible, and the bad guys are playing it smart. They aren't just rushing the place, but laying siege. Keep the pressure up while concealing their actual numbers as well as possible. Maybe even have it extend over multiple days, all in the run-up to the actual holiday.
And then have the final reveal that Kringle is the real villain when the details of WHY the Bobakiks and Frostlings are on the warpath. He's a callous boss that has been exploiting their labor. The Frostlings were initially bound under a promise to help Kringle with his work, but he just kept expanding the scope of "his work" to the point of absurdity. Kringle is actually the Avatar of the Grindset Mentality. One of his power moves is to just slap someone with burnout. And the only way to resolve everything is to get Kringle to chill out a little, and shift his focus from the adulation HE gets and instead focus on the joy his work brings.
Maybe have a wise, green yeti that tries to communicate the real secret going on and wants everyone to take in the joy of the holiday.
Every minute of this video has the best vibes. Thank you to all 4 of you. You are treasures.
Great video as always, so much fun. This is the first time I've heard of Runesmith so thanks for introducing me to their channel
I'm looking forward to getting your book. I want to see more from you, hopefully with tons of art work!
