Why do you do landscape photography. As much time and money as we spend on our obsession, Its worth asking the question. Here is my answer to that question.
@fototripper landscape photography could be a good thing for you, you should try it out, lol. Just watch out for other landscape photographers out there. They can be grumpy, british speaking, car colliding, tripod loving, hat loosing, hot tub hogging, outdoorsmen. Gotta love them all though :-)
@Nick Page. This should be your main channel video for new people to your channel. You'll make 100k before summer brother. Happy to see you here and producing great inspiring work like this. Have a great day and be safe out there!!
This is so good and true. Last week I got up very early, drove to the ocean (live on Long Island) to do sunrise. As I was driving there I thought to myself 'why am I doing this?' I'm tired, it's cold, why? I am not necessarily trying to sell anything and I have hundreds of ocean sunrises yet here I am. My conclusion was, because I love doing it, no other reason.
I recently got into landscape photography and the video gives an amazing perception on what it means to truly love the craft of photography and the culmination of the small arts it takes to get perfection. Thanks for many great months of videos and hopefully many more years to come.
Great video Nick!! I do landscape photography because I enjoy being out in nature and showcasing this beautiful world we live in!! There are individuals in this world that might not have the means to get to locations that we go to, but being able to display them through social media so they can see is an amazing thing! Keep up the great work Nick cause you inspire me!! Your channel is great and I enjoy watching it!
Absolutely brilliant Nick such emotion in the words and couldn’t describe more accurately the feelings and emotions I go thorough when I am out in nature with my camera. Awesome mate!!
Just half way through your video and the like button is already pressed mate :) I relate to EVERYTHING you've talked about Nick. A fantastic insight into why you do landscape photography and I feel you explained perfectly why many of us landscape photographers do this type of photography :) Well done mate!
Brilliant video again, have watched all of your 'In the field episodes' in 2 days, this one really resonated with me!! Absolutely love your channel. I have time because we have so boring light here in the UK at the moment, off to do woodland later, if the weather App is to be believed.. Stay safe, and thanks for some great videos which are so inspirational.
Hi Nick. I came back to this video because I remember loving it. It was just as impactful as the first time. Beautiful imagery, music and words! Thank you!
Those visuals have me looking forward to my next trip, getting out in nature and even capturing some of it with my camera. So true success can be measured by how much time we spend doing the things we love, you can't buy back that time and it's something I try to live my life by. Thanks for the video, it put me in a happier place seeing all that beauty.
Awesome!! I feel you. Being out away from the city and the hustle of the city. To be in nature and hear nature speak is amazing and such a stress killer. Keep up the great work Nick.
Saw you in Heaton's video so came over to you page to watch a few. This is the second thing I've watched so far and this was amazing! Great job on it and you definitely live my dream. Happy Father's Day too since I'm watching it on Father's Day
So on point. Could have been my own words. Just love that someone so respected and known in this category of photography still see it just the way as little me do.
Nick! Nick! Nick! Oh my god! I have been following your work for several years now. And have learned so much from your videos here, your processing tutorials and your podcasts. Your love and dedication for this art is so evident. You are such an inspiration!!! This video is by far the most inspiring of all!! THANK YOU!!!
Love it mate ! beautifully put together.. as another landscape photographer that makes a living from this I can clearly see your drive & passion & the hard yards you do, we wouldn't do that if we didn't love it....
It certainly is a creative outlet! For me it combines my love of drawing, painting and photography into one! Seeing videos such as this one inspires and reaffirms why most pursue it :)
Nick, I just discovered your website and watched this video. And after having taken a 20 year hiatus from SLR photography, and preparing for a trip to Ireland with some new gear, I’m completely inspired by your story, images and music in this video. You’ve rejuvenated my spirit as a photographer and have given me some great ideas for writing my next song. Best to you! -Thanks, Tom
I love your explanation. This is why I love doing storm photography and astrophotography. It takes me away from everything else that's negative or troubling in life and allows me to do something I genuinely enjoy. You go out and experience things a lot of people don't, even if it's your own backyard. You learn to take on a new perspective to the world and enjoy everything that much more. Although I'm still relatively new to photography (about a year) and still a "noob", it has quickly become one of my greatest enjoyments. And you were one person that really got me into all of this. For that, I thank you
Love the video and the message behind it... It's always great to hear what others do as it makes me realise, I'm not that crazy after all.. Because that's how 'normal' people see you, when you wake up at 3am in freezing temps (or heavy rain) to probably come back home with no good pictures (although probably great stories). Thanks for sharing!
Damn that was intense Nick. Truly heartwarming and inspiring. It was almost as if you were speaking my own thoughts why I love landscape photography. Absolutely loved it mate. 🏆📷🏆💯
Thank Your for your service! Thank You, for what you have created. Thank You for making my day GREAT! Thanks for that Insane Super Amazed Video! Thanks Nick Page!
I appreciate that you are an inspirational photographer to many, but also talks to his YT followers like we live next door and you are just hanging out after a BBQ. Keep up the good work...we love your spirit, skill, and approach to photography.
Wonderfully put, Nick. I use as photography as a creative as well as my therapeutic release. Being out in nature is enough, but creating while there, soothes my soul.
Thank you for sharing. Your videos/contents are always very pertinent and interesting. I also feel that photography is a form of meditation...always looking for the next shooting place!
Nick, you were the first landscape photography RUclipsr I watched. A little over a year ago. I was initially drawn to your channel because I love the PNW and was planning a trip there so I wanted to get some idea of what to expect. Your humility, honesty and your awesome images hooked me. Watching someone going through the process of composing and shooting and sharing their thoughts was and is awesome. This led me to Thomas and Adam. And of course when you all linked up it increased the enjoyment more than four fold. Even enough for me to tolerate Gavin's humor. ;-). Thank you so much for sharing.
Couldn’t agree more! I love the way photography brings you to places you may have never gone and you get see locations you love in a way most people never will!
Excellent video man!! I really enjoyed the inspirational theme, and share with you the need for creativity. While its a struggle to really be happy with the output (at least for me) is real, it is a continual focus on creating not only the physical product / image but the raw emotion of being in a place and snapping the shutter.
Very well said Nick, many people just don't seem to understand the reasons we do what we do and for me you explained it better than I could have myself. Maybe people will understand more or can somehow relate to it. Thanks for this post. Shared and liked.
Aww I thought I was first to view lol ah well. Hi Nick, such a beautiful video and narrative by yourself. It really is awesome to be a photographer. You have been in some stunning places, gorgeous footage.
One of the best of you Nick and great motivation. Lesson learnt from photography has helped me a lot to get more creative and better at my day job. Thank you for such wonderful video
Absolutely. I love your words;your style;your work. On the surface you and I would seem so radically different. With your words... we are the same. Thank you Nick.
Excellent Montage and narrative Nick, you sum up what it means to be a landscape photographer ... PASSION... Great to see a bit of Ireland in there too :-0
I absolutely love this video! I so enjoyed our time in Iceland and it reinforced why I do photography. In my 40 years of being in the Army and working for the Army I have seen a lot of ugly this world can deliver. I do photography to remind me that there is still amazing beauty, peace and tranquility in the world and I want to share that with my kids and Grandkids. For all I have seen it is therapeutic for me and my heart and soul. It eases the ugly I have seen and been a part of.
The euphoria of what is visually out there waiting for me, and what I might return with, gets me jumping out of bed whatever the weather, whatever the time. Just the idea of going for a walk/hike with camera in hand gets me out of any "funk" I might be in... Nicely done Nick.
I love it because I Love to travel, it's peaceful and you have a lot of freedom, No co workers and no boss over your shoulder telling you what to do etc... Meeting new people of all different ethnicity & learning their culture! Sight seeing is awesome, can't wait to join!!
Landscape photography brings on another level of intimacy with our natural surroundings. It helps me remember not to take nature for granted. Thanks Nick.
Wow..very inspiring! I'm an artist and I've started photography here in my home Chinle Arizona next to canyon de chelly. You've definitely motivated me to get out more and enjoy landscape photography. Love what you do bro...your passion shows in your work.

fototripper be sure to get a grumpy sidekick 😜
Gavin you Nick, Uncle Grumpy, & Thomas should do a Photo Workshop together much like Moab I'd be there in a heartbeat...
There's been .... talk...@@ChrisSmith-wz4cc
