    The problem with equating outward appearance to holiness is it always requires man made standards. A women is to have long hair and men should have short hair. what makes the hair long? Uncut. Than what makes hair short? Women should not wear pants because that’s what men wear. But men can’t wear shorts. Not to mention men having facial hair where does that come from? It’s just a lot of man made standers

      The beard issue became a problem in the sixties. Simply put it came from prejudice against the hippie movement. A lot of church organizations started adopting grooming standards that would keep those kinds of people out of the church and we need to be wise enough to put those things aside.
      Jesus said that the leaders of his people taught the teachings of men and that his people loved it, so we know where he stands on this issue. Jesus Christ never minced words. UPCI often does.
      I watched this organization split over television with the WPF and I'm going to be blunt ... both sides were wrong. I said it then and I'll say it now, if you're going to teach pastoral worship and demand that you never stand up to leadership then that rule applies to ministry as well not just the laity, Flash! I had a pastor one-time preach the all it because of the times about dividing the word and dividing the church. Someone needs to put a bug in the Apostle Paul's ear as well because he was stood Peter to his face in front of everybody. Here we teach it should be done in a board meeting in private if it all. Depends on what your credentials are.
      But now they'll vote TV into the church, but will ostracize a man with a beard and God forbid that you let one in the Pulpit with a beard! We need to put this hypocritical nonsense to rest. We also need to be flat-out honest about the prejudices some of our older members had and stop trying to throw a stumbling block in front of our brother who for whom Christ died.
      Do I have a beard? No I don't. Have I grown one yes many times after I got out of the military. It's a biblical non-issue for me. Where it is going to become an issue is on Judgement Day for all the Pentecostals who rejected a brother walking in the church getting baptized in Jesus name filled with the Holy Ghost ... but he had a beard so they wouldn't associate with him or rejected him because he wouldn't cut it. God help the hypocritical Pastor who stepped in the pulpit and stomped all over that lamb because of a non-biblical standard that he established in his church. I'll be blunt, because they won't ... their's going to be a brutal day in hell for those types of pastors and aints alike.
      I'm currently in one of the fastest-growing churches in my state. They are doing outreach heavily to the drug and alcohol communities and helping people with addictions and it is hair-lipping all the Pentecostal preachers around the area who don't like that this church has baptized over 900 people in the past 4 years in a very small town and the church is full of new converts who haven't put on the UPCI catechism yet. One of those psstors snarkily asked me, "Did they kept all 900?" I told him, "No ... but you didn't either with your 20, so leave the man alone!" Also going to be a cold day in judgment for those judgmental pastors that want to stomp on another preacher's Revival. God needs to deliver us of our jealousy.

      @JohnJones-ej1ux 3 года назад +1

      Yeah most upc church's can can go overboard when it comes to the whole thing of holiness i think what's missed today is that once you hear about holiness now there's a time that you need to walk it out Romans 12:1-2 has been one of my favorite scripture where vs 1 is of utmost importance but vs 2 says be no longer or do not copy the patterns of this world so the whole thing of sanctified life is soooo important and i have to agree with them but at times it or they can go overboard i'm watching a church service from Austin TX they're united pentecostal church so they're oneness doctrine Jesus Only baptism holiness is important to them a person if they're saved and holy ghost filled will say that you can't do certain things if your saved and holy ghost filled they're big into being seperated from the world they go by the apostle doctrine that jesus 🙏 for his disciples about being in the world but being seperated from the world meaning don't participate in ungodly activities not to be equally yoked together with unbelievers to them that's important so they take the word of God seriously and that's good it is but it can become a works mentality if were not careful most of your other denominations mostly dont teach much on the holiness they do some church's teach sanctification and justification but to be honest some minister's believe that you can go to movies go to dance clubs watch 📺 or even have a drink here and there but won't say if it's wrong or not that's why we need to know our doctrine

    Sounds like this video was edited quite a bit, so addressing issues was not communicated well. Dressing modestly can vary even for those in this denomination. Addressing women's fashion choices seriously needs to be re-visited and discussed . Women's clothing , attire, and accessories has changed since the early 1900's when many of these rules were implemented for women. There are plenty of contradictions. Why tell a woman she can't wear jewelry, but yet her dress, shoes, and even her hair can be adorned with beads, rhinestones, barrettes, and ribbons? There are modest pants that don't have to fit tightly like leggings. Why could a woman not wear those? I've also seen UPC women wear tight fitting skirts and dresses just above the knee, yet they look down on pants? Costly array? Please. The dresses worn and the shoes worn in this denomination look expensive. I know many women who buy designer clothing. Is there seriously a cost limit on how much women can spend on their clothes? When will the judgmentalism against women end?

    It's quite some years I've been battling, confused, and been asking thousands of questions about this matter. But it's right, instead of trying to prove ourselves, reason out for our principle, or whatever we believe is right to live in, why not try to change our motivation? what or who am I really living for? what can I give more to glorify Jesus? It was been said unless we die, Christ cannot live ----- it includes our passion, it cost even our desire as an individual, and much, even more, our lives. As an apostolic Pentecostal for 12 years now, I received a lot of criticism, but here's my testimony-- IT'S WORTH FIGHTING & LIVING FOR. Living for Christ is the best life I ever lived. At the end of this life--- It's not about me, IT'S ABOUT MY PRECIOUS JESUS. So if somebody here is still having a hard time believing and following --- keep searching & keep praying. Holy Ghost is the best teacher. God bless us all.

The devil tries to act and copy many things that God has made to deceive people, but he fails to copy and act Holiness because that is who our God is; and he cannot be God. Being partakers of Jesus's (our God) Holiness is a greater victory, not only to triumph over the enemy but also to see God even as pilgrims in this world.

    No church should have standards of holiness. Those are rules. Each person needs to discern what the will of God is in their own lives. One woman believes holiness means skirts to her knees. Another woman believes it means skirts to her ankles. One woman can wear a wedding ring only, another believes that earrings are acceptable. This discussion quickly evolved into outward holiness primarily. 35By this everyone will know that you are My disciples, if you love one another.” Not by your dress. Did they even touch on the fruit of the Spirit which is an outflow of Christs Spirit in a believer? I must have missed it.

    The context of one of the primary scriptures:
    Hebrews 12:
    6 For whom the Lord loveth he *chasteneth* , and scourgeth every son *whom he receiveth* .
    7 If ye endure *chastening* , God dealeth with you as with sons....
    9 ...shall we not much rather be in subjection unto the Father of spirits, and live?
    10 ... for our profit, that we might be *partakers of his holiness* .
    11 Now no *chastening* for the present seemeth to be joyous, but grievous: nevertheless afterward it yieldeth the peaceable *fruit of righteousness* unto them which are exercised thereby.
    *God* corrects anyone he receives as sons (and daughters).... He corrects / chastens / sourgeth
    so
    that
    *we might be partakers of his holiness*
    In other words - God makes you Holy, through correction, reproof, instruction (2 Tim 3:16-17).
    12 Wherefore lift up the hands which hang down, and the feeble knees;
    13 And make straight paths for your feet, lest that which is lame be turned out of the way; but let it rather be healed.
    14 Follow peace with all men, and *holiness* , without which no man shall see the Lord:
    (the context of holiness).
    18 For ye are not come unto the mount that might be touched.... {Mt. Sinai in Exodus had perimeters that could not be passed under penalty of death}
    ..... 20 (For they could not endure that which was commanded, And if so much as a beast touch the mountain, it shall be stoned, or thrust through with a dart:
    But God desires to commune with us, and partake of his Holiness:
    (22) But *ye are come unto mount Sion*, and unto the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels, (23) To the general assembly and church of the firstborn, which are written in heaven, and to God the Judge of all, and to the spirits of just men made perfect,

    It seems any time when the subject comes up about women wearing pants, Deut.22:5 gets brought into the conversation in order to prove women shouldn't wear pants because they pertain to a man and then explain how immodest pants are. This teaching causes some confusion, which is, does a woman never put on at any time a pair of pants even in the privacy of their own home, such as sweatpants? What do you do? Deut says, Don't and Paul says to dress Modestly. What do you do? You begin to now make the Scriptures fit your interpretation is what you do. If Deut. says "Don't" then you DON'T, right? Or maybe Deut. isn't saying what you want it to say, Maybe it's saying, women and men Don't Cross Dress, don't wear clothes that the opposite sex wears to look like them. Pretty obvious doing such is perverted. This verse doesn't mean for women not to wear pants otherwise you better not even wear them at home..... and that goes for you men too, don't wear your wife’s sweatpants, lol.

      We need to drastically learn the difference between the concept of what Holiness is and what righteousness is. Anybody that God has filled with the Holy Ghost and has been baptized in Jesus name is Holy because God has made them holy. If you're talking about the outward physical appearance and how they dress and conduct themselves that is righteousness not holiness. That is a product of a walk with God over a period of time and not something that church members or pastors can shove down a person's throat.
      Too often people use what they believe is their "standard of Holiness" which is nothing more than an outward appearance of righteousness as a measuring tool to beat their brother over the head. And no that's not legalism either (although there's a lot of people out there that would claim it is). Paul said not to place of stumbling block or any type of offense in front of a brother or sister to Make Them Fall. Too often we see this in our churches and to be blunt we've aborted more babies than Planned Parenthood ever thought about killing. I've always been a firm believer that what gets allowed in the church gets propagated into the world and since we've permitted people to kill babies in the church it's now part and parcel across the planet. When we let spiritual corruption into our churches and Leadership we allowed it in our countries.
      We need to understand that our righteousness is as filthy rags. If we esteem ourself more righteous and somebody else because of the length of our sleeves dresses pants shorts Etc and a laundry list of places that we will not go or people we won't hang out with we have become no better than the Pharisees who stood on the street corners. Is Holiness important? Yes it is ... but that happens WHEN they received the Holy Ghost and not when they decide to wear the clothing list that you approved.
      Our problem is we have too many people that want to fix things for God. 42 years in this movement and it has not changed.

This cult preys on putting fear into others for their own personal gain (bring in more members through fear of going to hell thus more money through tithing and donations so the leaders can profit from their fearful members) wearing pants is not going to make me go to hell.

    Thank you so much for such videos.I’m a Pentecostal in Zimbabwe that appreciates the word of the Lord as it is.I’m liking how you are quoting scriptures as they are and not modernizing them.Holiness does not evolve or is not dynamic everything we do we need to revert to the Bible.
