There's one scene that refers to the mastermind behind the abyss order as "the princess" even if you're playing Lumine
For new players, I really recommend playing Aether for the full experience and better understanding of the whole stories since he's canon mc, I made a mistake and picked Lumine so I can't go back and pick Aether, I wish I can but I couldn't
@USERZ123 yeah, aether was who they built it around cause of the cutscene they mentioned, but there’s audio bugs in both that cause characters to use the wrong pronouns/genders in the dub. It doesn’t really matter, it’s pretty easy to figure out that it’s meant to be prince not princess in the cutscene anyways, whatever the player wants works, that’s the whole reason why there’s a choice

I'd just like to put this here since this song never fails to make me tear up-
Basically the song is about this android girl named NEAR or NIA (If we use hiragana). The song takes place in what it seems to be an apocalyptic world seeing as in the video, the main room where they reside in have a large gapping hole. While the origins of NEAR haven't been explicitly stated, she could potentially be created by a kind man who seemed to be a researcher.
At the start of the song the man asked (from what I can vaguely describe) if the sins and mistakes the self-proclaimed 'foolish' man could be forgiven, which NEAR replied with a typical robot answer that "such concerns come in the way of calculations.". At the bottom right of the video lays the number of "asked from master" and "reply to master" which reaches up to 970,000+ to the very end and with that answer, there's a one number difference. As time time passes, NEAR develops emotions and feelings and sees the man as a father figure.
At the end of the song after 25 years, the man fell ill. Throughout the video it has evidences that the man was pushing his limits and was only alive of what seemed to be drugs. It may be because he ran out of it or that his body could no longer take it. As he lay in bed with NEAR by his side crying, he gave her the same questions that he did before NEAR developed emotions, which NEAR answered at 2:59 of this MMD. In the end, NEAR left the place she called home, the numbers at the bottom are "asked_f_MASTER:no. 1098718" and "reply_t_MASTER:no. 1098717".
My favorite part of the song and with the MMD is at 2:42, the man asked "Hey NEAR, if I don't make fun of someone and I won't be able to forgive myself, how do you feel about our poor selves?" to which NEAR replied "Ah, I'll continue to anticipate even if it's broken beyond recognition. As long as you exist in this planet I won't want to forget about it." and to me she's saying that she'll still stay by his side despite his wrongdoings. at 3:14, the man's last words were "Ah, I'll still continue to believe and ask you who doesn't sleep. That's because your hand was much warmer than mine. Alot warmer than mine." aND CUE THE PART WHERE AETHER WENT TO HUG LUMINE SOMEONE HOLD ME PLS MY FEELS ARE HURT-

If you have played Honkai you will definitely know that Mihoyo will not go down the rainbows and sunshine route. Some characters will definitely die/be disabled or go in a state of coma.
Especially considering the fact that Honkai and Genshin are connected.

Even though I'm using Aether, Lumine definitely looks more like MC than Aether.
Aether's design fits more like a villian imo.
