Tbh, I’ve been playing around with it in steel path and it’s actually really good.
You can charge its incarnon almost instantly and it’s in car on puts like 10 pellets down range. I can get to 500% crit rate easily with Hata satya.
There was litterally a corridor full of corpus trying to get to our MD target and somas wall of gun fire was impassible to them, I wasn’t even using shred and I’ve only got merciless at rank 3.

I would just use it in its base form and take some of the benefits of the incarnon adapter so I can also use the somas augment
I do think its funny you can pick a lil bit of overshield as one of your evos for a incarnon of a classic prime weapon, or play styanax and get 50k overguard and also get overshields

look what they did to my boy, when rivens first came out I snatched one for my soma it was my favorite weapon I stopped playing and recently came back, it doesnt shred like before
Hope you learned not to jump in on rivens for a new/popular gun. Just gonna get scammed on plat prices and frustrated by the end results after nerfs.

I remember getting this thing on stream. It was my whole thing moment the weapons incarnon dropped I tried being the first to get it. I remember vividly at launch even the soma crit mod didn't work on it and me and my viewers were deeply dissapointed. I should give it another shot lol.
It's a lot better now. Especially with the element buffs to crit

I went for a full fire rate build on my my Soma incarnon with a riven that has 100% cold 90% toxin on it and it melts steelpath infested and corpus. It still claps grineer and corrupted enemies but not as easily as the other 2 factions. I dont know… I dont have haty satya or whatever that mod is called but the soma is my favorite gun in the game and i dont hate its incarnon form compared to the other incarnon forms.

Devstream said that Hata-Satya is intended to apply to Incarnon mode and that they’re looking into a few other things about it.
Hopefully they fix the lowered crit chance on Incarnon and generally just make it better. I Love Soma but the Incarnon was so sad not properly using Hata-Satya that I went Vasto Burston
Thankfully they did say it would be buffed but I'm still perplexed as to why it is this bad at release.
Well the mod works now but its still not very good for an incarnon

I love the incarnon Soma honestly, shotgun mode was the perfect boost. I think its dumb how they tanked its crit chance when the Torid and Latron incarnons exist throwing red crits everywhere but its still super strong
I don't dislike the mode, just the stats compared to other incarnons. It's still good though
@@vulcanist Torid, Lex, Hate and Latron getting red crits with any build meanwhile the Soma barely tickles orange crits with Hata-Satya's 500% crit chance increase.

@@vulcanist I mean it functions perfectly fine, it's just the stats that are the issue. The Boltor incarnon got basically the same thing, except with much better crit

Lmao I can see why you'd get that impression. Context was lost from cutting the short to fit the format. I don't think the gun is bad. Just shockingly underwhelming compared to other incarnons. If you read through some of the other replies I've sent to other comments it will show my sentiment on it. (Plus I got the some incarnon when it came out) meaning this footage was before the special father soma mod worked on it at all. Compared to the Lex, Burston, or even Boltor incarnons it was considerably weaker at launch. Not bad, just shockingly different then what I expected.
I'm one stock away from a soma prime. Can't wait to see what happens

Soma already has decent recoil and accuracy, what I also has is horrendous reload. Wouldn’t it be better to spec its 3rd Evo into reload?

I've come up with a build that kind of slaps in steel path, I run Fortress Slavo with an Arcane Guardian on my warframe. I main Wisp so fortifying bloodshed for the oversheild is irrelevant with Health motes and I'll be missing out on the 2 extra damage and punch though that pretty consistently procs.
Rapid reinforcement for QoL and Fresh Havoc for another 12 damage.
I've dropped shred for Point Strike and combined with the Hata Satya I consistently hit red crits in base form.
It's incarnon form is also a beast.
You are like a little baby, try this:
Mirage with augment mod hall of malevolence, helmith power with ammunition efficiency. Then Soma with his augment mod from Father, your incarnon and you are even more powerful than a full regiment of the astra militarum
Oh yeah, don't forget hunter ammunitions, galvan mods and faction mods, use heat+corrosive on grineer if you want status effect or toxic on corpus and gas on infected, corrupted you can do radioactive but i recommend corrosive too

I’ve got soma prime with incarnon I hit red crits most of the time if the enemy don’t die instantly
Old build video, certain meta builds for the soma incarnon did not work then
Use a nidus crit with it for better results
For testing purposes I try to avoid warframe combos for transparent results. Yes harrow, mirage, nidus, chroma, rhino, and many others have amazing buffs for guns but I like to see exactly how far a gun can go on its own. Simply out of curiosity. Plus this video is outdated with certain mods not working at the time and buffs not given yet.

The power of choice in warframe at least. I do enjoy dumping 200 rounds from the soma with punch through every now and again but it's by no means the best.

It's better than it used to be. But OP? that depends on your definition. It's a power fantasy after all. No it's not the same level of room clear as the meta weapons in the game unless you run specific builds and frames. BUT it's not bad. I'd say give it a try and come to your own conclusion on whether or not you personally enjoy it.

With a decent riv the incarn isn’t bad, boltor & burston are definitely better. Sad I had my fingers crossed it would get a buff.
I will never count a riven to a weapons total "value" in my eyes. Rivens are a flawed system that I personally think need a ton of changes. Saying a weapon is good with a riven is near universal and could apply to almost any weapon. It got a small buff and the special soma only mod from Father works on its incarnon now but yeah still underwhelming imo
