I mean actual years ... back as I played last, the Arena was just implemented ... yeah, it's a slow development, sometimes might even seem like semi-abandoned but boi oh boi this game has become just sooo much more then I originally had hoped for. I never got into exanima more than a few hours in the training to be able to kill a few enemies, albeit quiet terribly. I'm so happy to see all of your videos and I'm really enjoying watching this series, and I hope you keep going

just bought the game and love it the only problem is the manual isn't actually a fucking manual its just telling you about invisible mechanics i need a fucking control scheme man i cant even figure out how to do an over head attack like come on!
It can be a bit confusing at first, definitely. To over head, double click and hold the second click. I usuall rebind alternate attack to Q (hold this and attack to thrust). Hope that helps!
@@OdinTheUnderwhelming Thats very smart, what's funny is i gave the manual another read and i just didnt read it all the way through. I gave it another go and had to restaart about 4 times before i said whatver ill try aagain later xd
@@RetroSpctve Btw I recommend going into the practice arena, selecting novice, and spending some time in there. Beat the first dude, then just practice moving and swinging before going onto the next opponent
@@OdinTheUnderwhelming LMAO whats crazy is i did that and got to about the 4-5th guy then went back in but its just the combat controls are the worst thing on the planet, theres gotta be a way to make it better.
I really think they need to rework the UI for this game... Especially for the arena mode. I really enjoy this game but the UI is so difficult to figure out.
Mind boggling watching someone that can competently play this game and not just flail around and die immediately like me lol. Any tips on figuring out how to play this game properly?
Play in the novice practice arena. After you beat the first fighter, just practice movement and the different attacks. This is what I did originally, and after a little bit the system "clicked" and made a HUGE difference.
@@OdinTheUnderwhelming for some reason positioning just seems to be a huge issue for me. Like I'll land a blow and then next thing I know my character back is facing the opponent and I'm just flailing around lol. I was actually messing around with the Areana mode where you recruit and manage your team and what not and it does definitely seem like a better place to start. I did surprisingly well on some fights and then got my ass kicked for the next 5 in a row but hey it's some progress lol
@@jakestocker4854 the mouse cursor only dictates the direction your shoulders face. how far or close it is to your character makes no difference. Place the cursor behind the enemy so that you don't accidentally spin around. get in the habit of only tapping the movement keys.
