I really liked watching the testing of the different shapes for holding the lock. At first it looked like the square shape was just a bad idea but in further testing it showed the square could have worked. It is interesting when you get a positive result when you don’t expect it. Well done!

Very clever. Have you considered how this can be made so the drawer can be taken out completely when desired? This mechanism appears to keep the shelf in permanently unless taken apart with tools. With conventional stops, you can lift the drawer up and over the stop in order to get the full drawer out. I’m just curious. Wonderful video.
If the semi circular latch is near enough to the bottom of the drawer, you could use a separate, larger magnet held underneath to keep the one in the latch held down.
