Hi boss the answer to the problem @ 24:00 is to add a station track where the blue dots are. You can change the station building too. T0he building and its forecourt must not exceed the extra added track lengh because a collision will occour when you add the regular track. HOWEVER, by adding even more station tracks to the blue dots that will appear after you place the first ones, will let you build even the largest available buildings.
12:18 IRL A crossing on a 160 km/h line will have barriers no matter how remote it is given how dangerous a collision at that speed would be for both train and the unfortunate sod who failed to give way to it.
Highly entertaining episode Colonel and I love your thinking and planning. Thank you for helping me (FLASHblade) get Blockbuster visible in Fail Brigade. Looking forward to the next one 🤩
🙋♂️ Here to stick my hand up claiming the completely barking mad award for my freight loop line that starts in Ambridge, passes through Grazer Ridge, Emerald City before turning across to Migginsville (yes I added a town) looping back into Grazor Ridge and returning to Ambridge. A second route runs from Ambridge through Ov City and terminating at one of my port hubs just outside Caprica, bringing all sorts of cargo to the good people on the eastern bank of the river. Being in Australia means the map is of course upside down.
Hi Colonel, it's PlaneSimple (author of the Mark 1 coaches) again😂 The XP64 TSOs were a one-off protype set built in 1964. There are normal TSOs in the pack too (in blue/grey livery, among others) which might look more in-keeping with the other trains on your map. Sorry the menu is a bit unwieldy, you can resize the buy menu window so you can see the whole vehicle name as well as the icon. Good luck! 😂
You're missing a perfect opportunity in the Valley of the Viaduct. You have lumber and oil. Make that a massive refinery and/or lumber yard (as you kind of said) but add a lil shunter to take the goods to the not-yet-built freight station and out to the world. That is, of course, if you are going to do freight.
Where is the fun in that. I can imagine the future were people boast about how many game titles thier downloaded AI can play at once while they watch eating crisps... thinking WALL-E the movie.
What we need is a suspension bridge mod that is a lower height tower.. a more "in between size". Unfortunatly alot of mods seem to be more on the big and flash size. Much like the boats.. hard to get a medium ferry.. just QE2 ships.
As much as you hate back seat gaming and in the event you've forgotten about it, you can click your level crossing barrier and you should be able to change them to one that suits your tastes
Not got to the end yet... but I wonder if the Ambridge station would fight you less if you used a non-Terminating station (and configured it to make it terminate anyway)?
Is it a burp? No! Is it a pane? No! Is it a lead Zeppurlin ..? ... Erm .. Nope. It's a smudgeon on my wireless telegraphy audio-visual computational machine screen. Phew! The train set can rest easy once more. Yey! ;o)
Imagine the levels of entertainment had the choice to make a mega in tunnel junction with 2 exits been made. I reckon there would have been a lot of bulldozing and a reasonable amount of telling the trees to naff off as they are in the way of seeing.
While some of the quicker built track sadly isnt as deeply intresting as those gubbin straights and curved fancily architectured throughout, but it still is leages above other content creators of actually both solidifying and painting the thing, aswell as it after a point being plai exhausting to build fully realisticly, even on my own map i tend to try and reuse most everything because realignments are a pain
I am losing my mind trying to find the mod or tool our ol' Colonel uses to lay tracks and roads but not instantly place and pay for them like in the base game, can somebody help me?
Bit of a rant, but such a shame you set up such a great map, with such great possibility of beautiful routes, but all you now do is lazily tunnel through in straight lines. Please reconsider what the plan was originally, bashing straight lines through mountains is not much of an accomplishment..

Better yet, extend the platforms, and have a staggered station setup.
"nailed that junction" I half expected you to roll credits :)
I lost it at: "Let's go... choo choo!... Comon'..." 56:13 🤭

Ambridge, a well known farming community, was rumoured to have never been invaded by vikings, due to the reputation of their Archers.
Neat! LOL
That should be the name of your next book "The Nature of the Span".

100% agree with you CF, after an episode of laying track, train is the best part :)
Always nice to watch Mr. Colonel does the overengineered tracks
Loving every second. build as you like and enjoy the game - keep em coming
Great to see your continued TF2 content, always enjoy these.

It's nice to have mountains in the map.. You should make a scenic mountain train route. staring too look god.. 😀
I'd ride a train that was all banquet cars! One per cuisine! The last car is the Vomitorium, of course...

"I will use the off-piste episode to tidy up all that is wonk"
I guess we're getting another 2 hour episode then this Monday
Paint the locomotive, reset paint color to default and add the coaches.
Fun to watch as always.I know its abit lazy but you can get a auto signal mod the set the distance apart aswell so much easier

@@MarsMullo1 autosig is a precision tool, it can only do continuous single tracks

True. I don't have any mods installed for it at the moment. May explore the notion later.
@00:30, might be taking that route due to signal on the tracks right side between the points?
Not got to the end yet... but I wonder if the Ambridge station would fight you less if you used a non-Terminating station (and configured it to make it terminate anyway)?
In the prologue, didn't that rain do the zig-zag thing through the points because that is a one-way signal? So it can't go straight?

create some flat track for a diamond, builds diamond after the flat bit. 😂
My take on a route name: The Ambridge Flyer

Sadly, junctions inside tunnels always look awful otherwise I'd explore it as an option.
@@colonelfailure Yeah its been my experience too, functionally cool, aesthetically horrible.
24:22 Colonel what if you extend the rail out from each end then try placing a station building?
Can't you extend the track in the Terminal Station, before you put the building in?
Yep. Or even after the building is there! An extra piece of station track chops the concrete bit off.

*plain
Why do you keep the spacer tracks in place at the wizard hole?
Does it not both confuse and limit your cross over junctions you wanted to place?
BEEFCAKE!
I am losing my mind trying to find the mod or tool our ol' Colonel uses to lay tracks and roads but not instantly place and pay for them like in the base game, can somebody help me?
That's the base game. It's not a mod. Draw from point to point and don't hit the tick.
24-7 wizard hole web cam?
Maybe, if I get it working properly:)
Could have used the 3 way points. . . . . . . . . . . . .
Too much tunnel Sir.

the bulldozer way
So Switzerland…
