I actually was using an app on my iPhone until the Chapter 8 video...so...let's just say I slowly unleashed more and more of my insane humor lol. At least I finally have actual editing software now hehehe

And Ruby being said for ONE Vol doesnt suddenly make her the “emo one”?? And Blake is allowed to be other things than a one-dimensional pessimist, or whatever, all the time. Just like the rest of them. That’s just not good writing lol.
I’d have no earthly idea why you’d _want_ them to be exactly the same, as they were when they were literally 17 & still figuring themselves out, just carbon copies of their Volume1 selves, over & over, with no other interesting qualities

It sucks how badly the animators were treated to make this happen, but at the same time there's so much attention to detail like Blake's ears that I can't help but admire it
There have actually been a lot of animators that came forward saying that they weren’t crunched at all for v9 so I think something got lost in translation somewhere lol. Regardless, they put in an incredible amount of work and detail and I’m glad I can highlight it!
It's not just Blake's ears, I was always fascinated how RT always puts effort in putting some smallest actions/gestures to all the characters even if those characters are even far off in the background or not the primary focus in a scene. It's like a treasure gifts for fans to find or notice.

@@aleviahwolfe Like...volume 1 was basically stagnant ears that were basically just "tiny bow." Volumes 2&3 got a little better. The switch to a new system definitely helped because they could play with it more since I think they also increased the size of the ears a bit. But this season was nothing but ears and I kept giggling about it with my friends because "kitty. cat. meow meow. EARS!" was my constant cry when watching the season.

FOR REAL i spent like 6-8 hours on each episode so I can’t imagine how much time it took to actually animate the ears. it’s absolutely incredible.
I think I'm starting to come around to the idea of waiting longer for V10, if it means it will have as much detail as V9 did in faces and movements

This video is only 14 minutes long and it took me nearly an hour to watch it it had be rolling with laughter with how often i had to pause but i love it Blake's ears are the best and i just love Blake in general shes my favorite character :3
My caption style is "reading is optional, pause for a fun surprise, go frame-by-frame for the full experience" 😂😂😂 Blake is iconic, she's definitely one of my favorite characters, and her ears are literally adorable. I'm going to make a regular compilation of her ear emotes at some point because it gives me happy chemicals.

I’m very curious if her hearing is like an actual cats, cause they can hear a lot more then we can, the sound pitch range of a human is 20-20000 hz, but it reduces to around 20-15000 hz as we age. But a cats range is 20-64000 hz. And they can hear sounds from four to five times farther away then humans. So if she does have a cats hearing her hearing range is insane.

It feels I finally realized why they gave Blake her new hairstyle. They wanted her to look like animal people in anime without having to get rid of her ears.

I don’t think that’s it at all personally. I’ll probably make a video about it eventually b she she cut her hair after adam died, and though it wasn’t a happy thing for her, the weight was (literally, if talking about her hair) was finally off her shoulders, and the hairstyle she returned to was one she had as a child, when she was able to explore these passions without feeling restricted by adam. we’ve seen her come very much into her own in the last few volumes since.
sorry for the rant it’s just a super important symbolic thing for me 😭
@@aleviahwolfe I mean the writer said they only gave her human ears because she would immediately be found out as a fauness without it when in school. Now her human ears just don't have purpose since they spend all their time animating her cat ears.

@@Salazar.945 I remember one of the writers at a panel mentioning that her hearing was supposed to be twice as sharp because of all four ears so that's an important feature. Otherwise, they specifically mention that Blake is BOTH Human and Faunus so she's supposed to have both features including those human ears. They are essentially human as they are an offshoot of the human species but they are extra enhanced with certain physical features.
@@djsaucy_tonight that kinda goes against the some of world building in the show. There’s also the fact that her super hearing never comes up, to the point that it might as well be ignored.

I think I'm focusing on an analytical, symbolic meaning to cutting her hair while you're focusing on logistics. Symbolism can't really be a headcanon because it's not a part of the plot or direct characterization, it's a literary tool. Some symbolisms and parallels are more obvious and confirmed by the writers but that doesn't mean I'm incorrect. I think you approach the show differently, since I don't see her human ears going against the worldbuilding of the show. But that's the beauty of interpretation! It can be so many different things for different people.

Honestly, this entire volume was just a major panic attack for me watching Ruby completely devolve into anger and hopelessness. Her going off on Blake and Yang was horrible.
I’m sorry my meme video reminded you of that! I personally struggle with very similar things but I was glad Ruby finally had a more realistic reaction to the emotional stress that’s been building up. It was extremely hard to watch but it was a long time coming, and the way she lashed out at her loved ones was horrible to watch, but terribly accurate to my personal experience with similar issues
