I like the mix of the dignified side of the theme versus the more chaotic side of the theme.
I feel it fits Garfield as he just wants a quiet, easy life with eating and sleeping but even with quiet periods in life, there's always chaos lurking around the corner.
That's something that came to mind, when reading someone's comment on the other theme, that they prefered the other version because it was more chaotic and they felt it fit the show more.
Like this opening better the the "siesta" opening. It has a touch of adult, sarcastic, slightly-cynical humor, just like the Garfield comic. You do sing it better then the actual signers did.
if the "siesta" Opening Is the "get ready for party, get ready" in really they say "fiesta" and is the word is Spanish to say "party"

I don't understand how people like the "we're ready to party" version of the theme song. This is clearly superior.

Probably because they grew up with it (and because syndicated reruns of Garfield and Friends only had the We're Ready to Party version instead of the Friends Are There version...or, God help me, that rap version that was on the final season that, apart from the Seinfeld-esque bass line, was really bad) and you know how people can be when it comes to nostalgia.

I always remember watching this popular cartoon programme when I was a kid. It is one of my favourite cartoon programmes of all time. It was shown on now-defunct TCC (The Children's), RTÉ 2, Sky 1 and UTV via ITV as a part of their children's block CITV years ago.
It's definitely the best Garfield cartoon series of all time as well.
I'd say it's way better than that silly 2009 French-American cartoon series, The Garfield Show.

I remember hearing this theme played throughout the series, without a clue that it was the original theme. I only remember the Ready To Party version and the horrible rap version. When I heard this for the first time a couple years ago, my mind was blown. This and the Party version are in multiple languages. It’s really funny to hear the season 3 Spanish version as they obviously keep the Spanish words Spanish.
I was expecting the "We're Ready to Party" theme song, but this was kind of sweet too. I loved reading Garfield in the Sunday funnies, and watching this Cartoon as a kid.

Honestly if it wasn't for the show being on Hulu I wouldn't have been aware of this theme song as I grew up knowing the other version on tv at the time. But I heavily appreciate this one too!

Yeah. That's the theme I remember from this show (that and the rap version that they had in the final season that no one liked and isn't included in the DVD and streaming version). But I like this version too.

I know this is probably a very unpopular opinion, and while my favorite Garfield and Friends opening is this one (Seasons 1 and 2) I also really like the Season 7 Opening as my second favorite. (I still like Ready to Party, it's just, I was introduced to it when I was sick and it kept giving me a massive headache every-time I watched an episode that wasn't season 1 or 2, to the point I commented on an episode video on how much I prefer Friends are There) If you don't hate Garfield and Friends season 7 opening as well as everyone else, is it okay if you do that one? Err, you probably won't because I'm probably the only one asking, lol

@@Triforcefilms To be fair, the season 1 and 2 intro is 80s themed because it's classic and comical for Saturday morning while the seasons 3 to 7 intro is more 90s due to it's poppy style music in the early 90s
