I love Shenandoah they have lots of great songs. I love this song. I also love " Two dozen roses" , " Church on Cumberland road", "Mama knows" , "Next to you, next to me", "Sunday in the south" , " Moon over Georgia" , " Any old stretch of blacktop" , "I got you" , "It's hard to live up to the rock" and many others
Marty Rabon lives about 5 miles from me. He guest speaks at our church and leads worship at least once a year. He’s active in fundraising in our community, and just a super nice, down home country boy with a huge talent!
Good ole Shenandoah! Great song choice from those guys. Alison Krause also covers this song...Two Dozen Roses, Loved Like That, Church on Cumberland Road, Momma Knows, Sunday in the South, etc. Many more to check out. Thanks for the reaction!
I would suggest you listen to Shenandoah's song Mama Knows. Back when I was much younger than I am now I'd always tear up a bit whenever it came on the radio.
I enjoyed every second of this reaction. I've been waiting for this one. I remember the 90s well. This is my favorite version of this song and Shenandoah is one of my favorite Country groups. So many great Country singers have come and gone and are sadly missed. Thank you for this reaction.
Rewatching this today; my 8yr old rescue/ best friend Walter( retriever😢/ lab mix) died....I've been thru lots of loss in my 63yrs on thus earth; but losing him so fast broke me...I went back to this song, and you Craig❤😢
Great song, I remember it so well, I actually started listening to Country music in the 90’s and you should watch the live version of Allison Krauss sang this song
I couldn't place the song, when you named the title. But, as soon as I heard the very beginning of the song, it came right back to me, almost as if it were just yesterday when I first heard this spectacular song! This was one of my all time favorite Shanadoah songs! It was an absolutely gorgeous song! Oh my goodness, I can literally feel those lyrics, as if it were my life! FANTASTIC SONG and a glowing review! Thank you for bringing back the memories that are tied to this special song!!! Thanks again!
20 years? Some of them more than 40+ years! :) Loved this band especially their name. Shenandoah is the name of a beautiful mountain ridge and state park in Virginia & West Virginia. It's also the name of one of my favorite movies and my dog when I was a kid. Good memories going into my golden years!
I loved this group when they first came out. My favorites were Next to You Next to Me and Two Dozen Roses. They always had such a great sound and brings back a lot of memories. Another group you should check out is Lonestar. They had a very hilarious song called Mr. Mom. If you haven't seen it I know you'll love it. It still makes me laugh 😅. 🥰✌
I haven't heard this song in many many years. It actually hits home because my boyfriend and I broke up a week and a half ago, and so this song got me in alllll the feels.
Allison Krause as well as the Dixie Chicks or Chicks as they are called now covered this. My vote for next is Sunday in the South. Saw Shenandoah at the JC Bootheel Rodeo way back when. Took a break from working the beer garden to watch them! lol. This I still have the t-shirt
This is one of my all-time favorite songs, and groups. They have a song for every stage in a relationship. I noticed many suggesting the same list of their songs that were popular when they debuted but, they have so many more that were just as good or better that weren’t released as singles. Try listening to See if I care, I Got You, Moon Over Georgia, and Wednesday Night Prayer Meeting.
This hits different since my husband of 25 years passed in Dec. Don’t think I can stay in this house. Thought I was getting better. This just pulled me back.
Great reaction to a lovely song. I remember this song, it was during a one of the most beautiful periods of my life, so I didn't really connect with it, but I thought it was a pretty song.
Marty Raybon is one of the most under-apppreciated vocalists around! Such a fantastic voice. I have been following his career since he was singing with his family in American Bluegrass Express. Shenandoah has some great stuff, and you should consider some of Marty's solo songs as well. He has a way with the 'tear jerkers' like Daddy Phone and Butterfly Kisses.
Shenandoah was huge back in the day. I had said that Marty Raybon (lead singer) could almost sing the ABC's and have a hit. He has a few of his own too, but not as successful as the group. But Marty Raybon - daddy phone, is one, as a single dad, I have to recommend.
Roughly every Twenty Years we have a Great Decade of Country Music - 1950, 1970, 1990, 2010, - the 1980’s had a small spill over but was mostly overshadowed by 1980’s rock.
Oof…my ex-husband and I had surround sound in our whole house, I’d literally blare this song feeling so dang empty. He’s one of my best friends now, but that was a very tough time in my life.
You will also enjoy the Official Video of the song “Sunday in the South” by Shenandoah. It will give you a very accurate idea of how and why Christianity is taken seriously in the South, a.k.a. The Bible Belt.
This it great. Now go listen to Alison Krauss’ version. She takes this song to a whole other level. She slows it down which really bring out the pathos of the lyrics, and plays up the beautiful harmonies. It’s masterful. Try it.
I listened to this song alot after losing my husband in October 2021. I had just lost my husband of 30 years. Oddly enough I reconnected with a boyfriend from 33 years ago. I decided I won't live with another, most days i prefer my solitude.
It is more of an old school sound. He has a hint of Conway Twitty in his voice. Although I suppose it could be debated as to whether she died or left him, my interpretation is that she died.
Shenandoah didn’t do a lot. They got sued for using the name Shenandoah. This kinda interfered with their career. Marty Raybon lead singer. Great voice. They but out number of albums. Check out Shenandoah featuring Alison Krauss -Somewhere in the Vicinity of the Heart. Won a CMA award for their collaboration
I love Shenandoah they have lots of great songs. I love this song. Good list.
If bubba can dance I can to.

Good ole Shenandoah! Great song choice from those guys. Alison Krause also covers this song...Two Dozen Roses, Loved Like That, Church on Cumberland Road, Momma Knows, Sunday in the South, etc. Many more to check out. Thanks for the reaction!
This is on my play list for years...Many of us can relate as we consider life that has happened.
I would suggest you listen to Shenandoah's song Mama Knows. Back when I was much younger than I am now I'd always tear up a bit whenever it came on the radio.
"3 DOZEN ROSES",SHENANDOAH

I didn't know they were still around..

Shenandoah is a great group and have many great songs. ❤❤❤❤❤

Lead singer is Marty Raybon. He is a really good bluegrass singer as well.
This hits different since my husband of 25 years passed in Dec. Don’t think I can stay in this house. Thought I was getting better. This just pulled me back.
I am so sorry for your loss!!! Lots of love from Kentucky.
@@dephii6908 Thanks so much.
One of my go to groups.
I had never even heard of this group---they seem alright!!
Great reaction to a lovely song. I remember this song, it was during a one of the most beautiful periods of my life, so I didn't really connect with it, but I thought it was a pretty song.
Never heard of him before so thanks for sharing it. Love his voice amazing 💞💞👏
"If I Had Two Dozen Roses" And "Sunday in The South" are a couple to check out!!
Good group, Momma Knows is another good one from them

Shenandoah has some great stuff, and you should consider some of Marty's solo songs as well. He has a way with the 'tear jerkers' like Daddy Phone and Butterfly Kisses.
You should give Shenandoah The road not taken a listen. Great music!
Thanks!
Have always loved Shenandoah. Take a listen to Alison Kraus and Union Station doing this one...even more haunting.
Love them!

My favorite Shenandoah song is The Church On Cumberland Road.
I love this group. Allison Krause covered this song. You should really check it out. This is basically my life since losing my wife
I'm so very sorry Warren for the loss of your beautiful wife; music can heal and make us remember the ones we love🙏😥
@@deborahlewis656 Thank you😭😭😭

I think you'd like Diamond Rio - I'm trying and Mama don't forget to pray for me.
Oof…my ex-husband and I had surround sound in our whole house, I’d literally blare this song feeling so dang empty. He’s one of my best friends now, but that was a very tough time in my life.
Check out their songs "I Want To Be Loved Like That", I'll Go Down Loving You, and for a smile "If Bubba Can Dance" ❤❤❤
I love this group. I think you would like I'll Wait For You by Joe Nichols. Give it a listen. 😉
Try The Osbourne Brothers with Rocky Top - it became Tennessee State Song. Country Blue Grass.
TRY THEIR SONG SUNDAY IN THE SOUTH
Somewhere in the vicinity of the heart by Shenandoah ft Alison Krause is really good ❤

So happy to see this group! Loved them. Hopefully you will get around to Confederate Railroad. Another awesome group - gotta listen to Trashy Women!
Moon Over Georgia is a good one
That's one of their good ones for sure.
You started with a great Shenandoah song a few more good ones sitting next to you sitting next to me two dozen roses and church on Cumberland Road
Oh please, react to Alison Krauss version.
I've heard of this group but I don't think I've heard any of their songs. Definitely a 90's country vibe!
You have to do two dozen roses.
This it great. Now go listen to Alison Krauss’ version. She takes this song to a whole other level. She slows it down which really bring out the pathos of the lyrics, and plays up the beautiful harmonies. It’s masterful. Try it.

It was a new group and song for me too. Not bad. Not really to my liking (too sappy), but I thank you for the reaction.
The road not taken.

You like that? Listen to Alison Krauss sing this song.
When country music was still real country. This generation country music I'm sorry is mostly pop hip hoppy throwaway crap
