Our aim is to create a healthy environment that provides space for positive and constructive musical conversation and discussion. Shravanam aims to bring together different musical impulses and ideologies, to help in better understanding and assimilating of the finer nuances of this art form, thereby facilitate the coming together of the larger music community. We hope such a process will be a listening and learning experience, sculpting and shaping our musical perceptions in a holistic manner.

It is always a pleasure to listen to Madurai Mani Iyer. My initiation into listening to Carnatic music was through his concert. I thank my later father for that. Never looked back ever since. This was in the early sixties. One could get all their desires fulfilled through mmi's music.

Absolutely mesmerising to hear Mani Iyer. Any and every song sounds inimitable and as if he was born to render it in the best possible way and this is how the song can best be rendered. After hearing Mani Iyer sing a kriti in a ragam it is difficult to render it in another totally different way. Such is the power of his style and the reach of his music. Touches the soul.

An entirely different version from Dkj Mama's Vinatasuta. Giving new life to the ragam and exploring an unexplored Jayantasena. Anyone who has heard Dkj Mama and MMI Mama render will notice the difference. In Fact, MMI Mama is one of my all time favourite musicians from yesteryear vidwan's and a very big kudo's to all the mahavidwan's and co artist's also who acccompanied and made MMI Mama discover the undiscovered. His command in layam and the mahalayam in sarvalaghu kalp[anaswaram's should be one talked about. And also the ghumki of Vellore Ramabhadran Sir contribute's to this rendition.
