- Here is 16 year old sophomore guard from Trinity Christian. Expect 6'2 Dennis Smith Jr to be making a lot of noise very soon on the AAU circuit. Dennis led Trinity Christian to it's 2nd state title by hitting a gamewinner in the semi's and in the championship game. Most of these clips are from when he was 15 years old.
Man reason why I love hoopmixtape is because all the songs they have the base drop goes in sync with big plays to make the video more exciting
This kid has the full package wow. Definitely one of the best mixtapes I have ever seen coming from a freakin SOPHOMORE!
"Dunking is an important part of the game. It's the entertainment, the excitement. But, if you want to win, you better have game." --Michael Jordan
***** All true. But, atleast spell his name right. Lol
Now he is in the NBA
you predicted his game bro XD but hope he stays solid
@@bonniebates2068 well he had a point
and now he's seen as a bust cause his game didn't translate to the pros
Everything he does is so effortless
its called being blessed and hard work combined together. Not just talent. Theres a limit to talent people
There's a limit to hard work without talent as well...
+Denny He says who?
there's no limit to hard work. some people start playing a sport at a late age and still go pro and become some of the best in the league
God is good
Nah bro some guys were meant to be nba players he’s one of them
This kid has a bright future. I could see him in the league one day!
2 weeks ago and was edited lmao
@@zyotic123 right dumbass it says edited
This one of the only players who actually made something in their career from all these hoopmixtapes crazy
We still believe in you Dennis
That allllley flip behind his back was tough!! 😮
played him and kwe parker last year, we lost by 70 lol
Are you related to Andre Bynum by any chance?🤔
@@famousxji1852 Idk if he gon reply to you 6 years later lol
@@1ksprite963 haha
Still
10 years later he didn’t respond
hope these guys are grateful for their skills. most people can get good/great at a sport if they put in the work and time, but these kids are on another level. genetics
This kid is an amazing athlete hopefully he grows taller and continues to improve as a player. I like what i see so far.
this didn't age well
@@ryanmiskin8925 at least he in the NBA unlike seventh woods who might've been the craziest athlete of all time in high school.
@@afrojacker9 not even close to the best athlete, but he was very hyped...dude slipped to #59 recruit by his senior year.
WELL THESE KIDS ARE NOT BEING COACHED.THESE YOUT TUBE STARS DON'T PAN OUT
his leap is effortless jeeez
The scary thing is some of these dunks were off vert and he's only 6'2 😳
I'm 6 foot and dunk with ease but it took a lot of effort to get to that point he's probably not even really 6'2 most teams bump up their players heights so if he's really more like 6foot it's even more impressive. Ask most 6'2 guys on the street if they can dunk and the answer is probably no
Kendall Green as
@@kendallgreen6832in the 90’s we had guys on the H.S. team doing leaning dunks at 6’2”
I could barely dunk, but then again I wasn’t serious about hooping as a youngn
I am impressed. Dude has one of the best mixtapes ive seen as a sophomore. I wonder what his shot looks like.
Whewwwwwwwwwwww dat boi NASTY jumper underrated and the way this kid runs the show is beautiful
This is the best player I have ever seen in my life 😱
If you go and watch his game tape, you'll see that his passing ability is top notch. If the kid continues to work on his jump shot, the sky is the limit. Great size, long arms, freakish athleticism, great passing ability, + solid jump shot would be too much for anyone to handle.
Crazy seeing this when he is now in the NBA
Literally the smoothest high school player ive ever seen, explosive darius garland
damn he got that unexpected bounce
This kids gets more muscle and he will be better then anyone!
that hesitation is dangerous
Crazy video
Kentucky would be a good home for Dennis Smith! He fits the Calipari point guard to a tee. I am amazed that he is in the class of 2016. The big blue nation already has Dennis on their radar. No doubt that he would love playing at UK and be able to showcase his skills in front of the largest fan base in the nation.
Yo I've been waiting for this for so long
Is he really 6'2? He looks shorter than that but then I'm giving him more props for his insane vert and game.
yea he is i just seen him at a airport i was at
Those are 10ft rims. Its High School and AAU with both requiring regulation 10ft rims just like the NBA.
***** I thought it was impossible to be that stupid.
Give this kid a NBA contract now!
he got it lol
Dsj isn’t a bust it’s just when good talent meets poor management now bro made a comeback and signed a one year deal with the Brooklyn nets
Going to DAL was the worst possible scenario for his development.
man, i am so jealous of these 15 year old kids that are blessed with that sort of athleticism, the shouldn't take it for granted because there aren't many white guys in this world like me that can jump like that, geez
There not blessed with athleticism it's just hard work
Ehh its actually a combination of both theoretically
***** naturally gifted with that speed and those 40+ inch hops
***** one guy at my school does sprinting once a week and he's the fastest guy in the school. No genetics involved???
Go check out our mixtapes!
Damn crazy to see and now 4 years later mans killing it in the league!
Tophe Thorne not at all, he averages 5 points on 34 percent, I can’t even understand how he fell off that bad
@@eshw23 bro it’s the Knicks y’all management is so bad I’m surprised rj progressed and Randle improved. Both frank and dsj could’ve been good on different teams with good management
@@eshw23 he’s balling right now on the hornets. Knicks suck.
This kid has skills , i just hope he can do the same thing when defense is on him .
he will. imagine him with 30 extra pounds and NBA-caliber physical coach working out with him during summer = SCARY
Anton Z derrick rose
Anton Z Derrick Rose all over again , except hopefully he wont kill his own career .
@@ChelovekOdin Ehhh....actually he's doin pretty rough right now
This kid is has disgusting hops..what do they feed children these days??
lots and lots of leg day
Hahaha whoo
Cp3jordan95 your disgusting
If I had to play this guy when I was in High School, I would cry.
Comeback to see this .After he made insane poster dunk on 2024 just insane bro🔥🔥
So sick
Welcome to the NBA 🔥🔥
Hey, people this kid is for real. I was at the game when Smith and Woods went head to head and Trinity beat them by twenty, Woods made a run by dropping 42 points, however Smith was unstoppable. Smith had about 30th that night against Woods in a blow out. Then the next night Smith dropped 42 points; He may play at a 1A school but, its private, So they play the top schools in State and out of State form year to year. This Kid will be in ESPN top 60 by the end of the AAU summer season. Dennis Smith Jr the Real deal… If you have not seen Dennis Smith Jr play in person; you should.
this guy is the closest to westbrook I have ever seen I just hope his acl tear doesn't mess him up next years draft class is stacked with future superstars
He's nice i Love Dennis Smith Jr Basketball game he's got skills
probably one of the most well rounded Hoopmixtape in a long time
this didn't age well...
Best player in high school I've seen most athletic guys can't really play but he can
This guy is going to break some boundaries
Future NBA Star for sure
Bro he is in NBA right now
And he's a bust
6 years later riding the knicks bench.......NY where promising talent comes to die!!!!!!!!!!!
He was ass on the knicks and pistons. Now he a free agent while the Knicks are a playoff team
@@knighthood639 no argument here..... unsigned free agent with 4 weeks before training camp.........🤔. Oh.....we didn't forget you French Prince, Phil Jackson's gift to us knick fans, you to share same fate as DS Jr.
I always knew Dennis Smith Would make the NBA even in 2014 when this video came out. 💯💯💯
Finally a player that is more than just hype...👍
greatness in the making
That explosion to the rim is lethal
Reminds me of a young Stevie Franchise!
Crazy hops for days! Him & Seventh! Beast
May God continue to bless him
Good Job dennis Smith Jr.
I am only 13 but I am learning from an example thx
his left hand hesitation was still unstoppable at this time holy
Turn up NC in da building shout out my boy 4r putting Fayetteville on da map..# College Lakes days💯💪🏾
0:44 how do you tell which team is which???
Lmao
Ikr lol
Between this guy and Seventh Woods idek if I wanna play ball anymore lol
1:03 that 360 windmill 😨😨
That last dunk was insane!
My dude finally got one bout time he helping put TCS on the map but the team was mad nice record of like 24-4 and state champs
It's crazy to me how a young player that's being compared to DWade, or Westbrook, or a young DRose, a John Wall, Baron Davis, Kyle Lowery, Steve Francis, or Damien Lillard could slip all the way to #9. I'm glad he fell to the Mavs though. That's probably the best place he could have landed, given the coaching, the ownership that looks out for the players, and veteran leadership that's already in place there. DSJ is going to be something really special if he can stay healthy.
Amazing highlight mix
The kid who got dunked on at the end. Was he smiling?!!?!!
yea man service with a smile
yeah, he was smiling. He knows the risks involved, and the young Moor was just having fun out there.
yea
I like how in the beginninv of the video at 0:26 when Dennis made that kid in the #11 jersey fall; the mixtape's song said "Oh Lord" in unison 😄😅
😂😂😂😂😂 I've watched this often and didn't notice that
You know you're about to make it when hoopmixtape makes you a "volume 1"
He got Game! Amazing Skillz! Be Proud!
I mean.. He's good and all, but can he dunk??
Yeah he dunked over his 6'9 teammate
I know that this comment is over 3 years old, but the joke clearly went over your head.
46 inch vert, meh
he alr dunk at 10 with socks on🤷
well, can't wait to see ya in the NBA
hope he gets back man
Man this dude so good... I'm leaving a comment and I don't ever leave comments
15 and did a 360 windmill in game, i can only wish.
Johnny Brickweg 1:57 thats why you do the 3v2 2v1 dill. The guy was under the hoop.
Cuz is beasting somethin mean....thats crazy....i like that hes aggressive but when somebody locks him down, he finds a teammate....good stuff young man.....
Athleticism's a gift ball handling's hardwork
TOP 5 HOOPMIXTAPE EVER
Name all the 5
Off the chain, go ahead on young fella!!!
This kid's going to the league watch.
To let y'all know he straight out of Fayetteville nc. We starting to build up talent round here take notes
I don't know man. Him and Seventh Woods game almost identical.....
Yes, they are both extraordinarily athletic sophomore guards. I do believe that Dennis Smith plays with a bit more composure though. Clearly you wouldn't get that impression from watching this video, and I'm not saying by ANY means that he is composed, but when you compare him to Seventh, there is a bit more body control. He is also a much more willing passer with better vision in traffic. His drive and dish game is very solid. They're have very close games, but there is a difference.
chris baldwin yea the highlights only show "highlights" and not their complete games. they both are great at something. both from the carolinas, would be nice to see them in a ACC uni (Duke, UNC, Wake, GaTech) more than likely I think DSJ is going to UNC.
no dennis has more handles, but they have the same amount of hops
PARIS B. Did you watch the RUclips vids with DS vs SW?? Handles bout the same.... SW jumpers have range.
chris baldwin absolutely basically dennis is more of a pg whos athletic whereas seventh is an athletic two.
0:19-0:21 great job #9 now thats how you play defense, congrats you get the Right bench this time
now he bout to get drafted
this kid is so smooth
Year of 2010 litt 7th grade highlights 📽️👨🏾💼
He can jump out of the gym, has handles for days, and he's only 16. This kid's got a bright future.
So much potential!
Between Dennis and Seventh Idk whose better. They're both so ridiculously talented for their ages
The guy who he's throwing it up too for oops and stuff is kwe Parker check out his mixtape
He in the NBA NOW
1:48 dude literally was like . . . no charge being taken today . . . side step pro
Good ball control and deffly explosive
Theese videos are better than NBA highlights !! :) For me :D
Him & Kwe Parker most dangerous backcourt in highschool
Besides the video, this beat goes haaaaaard!
when is yall coming out with hoopmixtape'd vol3? nice btw
insane vertical
What's funny about this video is that he gets his head above the rim now
So athletic
Did the title change, also. The beat goes ham, cheese, lettace, and wheat bread boi
where did all this bounce come from,in 7th grade it didnt look like he had any bounce,he looked slow, its just cool how much he changed
0:26 is one of the nastiest crossovers I've ever seen
one of the resans he can dunk so well it looks like he has a 6'8 wing spand or so
I have a 6’8” wingspan with an 8’ standing reach…. Then again my dad was a physics major and my mom is an RN.
