A wing is an example for a fin which can produce lift (pushing force) while moving through air or other fluids. Accordingly, wings have engineered cross-sections (airfoil) that are subject to aerodynamic forces. The lift generated by a wing can be one or two times more than the total drag of the wing.
Airplane wing carries one or two engines, fuel tanks, control surfaces and their mechanisms, anti-icing agents/devices, wing tip devices. Presence or no. of of these inside or on the wing varies between different airplanes. The wing design and developments involve deeper aerodynamic studies. it uses various software platforms for its design, modifications and performance analysis.
