I stopped watching this video when the gentleman suggested having a professional fix it, instead of doing it yourself. Learn to fix things by yourself, you don't always need a professional to help. It will blow your mind how easy most common household repairs can be when you put your mind to it. Thank you.
you can have a proffesional for the first time, you can watch what he is doing and next time if anything happens you will know a try to fix but not always is good to start doing something you have no idea.I watch this video because I got a leek that is coming from bottom of the wall around the pipes after I used water in the sink or shower.I had a blockage I had put a gel other day to clear the waste in tubes/pipes and It got worse today and water started to come out of the wall from the bottom.''.Happy days ''when just in one week I go on holiday..Hopefully it will be fix because in Canary island everything takes ages and they have time for evertyhing,🙄🤔
In my area professionals don't like hard jobs. Talking to a plumber the other day thats done hundreds of homes yet he is not willing to go in the attic. 😆
At 3:23 he talks about ''Turning off the valve'' but actually turns it on! Hint: A properly installed ball valve should go Off when at a 90-degree position relative to the FLOW of water in the pipe that it stops. But in this particular video, he puts the valve going in the Same Direction as the flow. Indicating that it is on. However some handymen who work on pipes don't know this and will often put the valve in incorrectly. Ditto the DIY crowd.
Exactly I have hot water pipe slab leak right now. Gas bill 3-4 higher. Getting it fix via insurance next week. We should watch our gas and water bill every month and do leak test regularly. Thanks
@@nghiaho9417 They don't pay to fix the water leak but only pay for damages occurred due to water leak. A home owner has to pay a plumber to fix the water leak for a few hundred dollars then open a claim to file for damages. Ins will send have an adjuster who will send people to see your home to assess damages. Hope it helps. It is important to get knowledge, monitor and observe as minor unusual leaks (and other maintenance issues) or damage can turn into a bigger problem depending on where it is.
@3:22 You actually turn the water on… If the handles in line with the pipe that is ON position… If the handle is 90° to the pipe that is the OFF position
Couldn't believe the amount of leaks I found when I fitted my first system, it's amazing how many people you listen to and don't get all the right info,
Took a bit of head scratching, ciggies, and alot of pacing up and down, but I knew how to get it sorted and who to avoid, just resolving the issues of water damage for Christmas?
I did the pressure gauge test in our water line, pressure drops after closing the valve before the water meter (indicating a leak). but if the valve is open the meter is totally still. Any idea please.
If your cat finds a new place to sleep on the floor, and it is a warm spot, could be where the leak is. A stethoscope sometimes helps listening for where the leak is.
I'm trying to figure out if I have a leak. I just started noticing hearing water running in the wall very faintly (everything in the house is off to hear it) when nothing is being used, but the water utility office says there's no indication of a leak and I don't see any signs of a leak inside or outside of the house.
Do you hear this sound constantly and it never stops? If so it might be the valve in your refrigerator opening to refill the ice cube maker. If that is the cause, then it should stop within 15 seconds or so.
Water Leak Detection is usually associated with pipe leaks, either under the slab or the main line coming from the water meter. (or pipes from within the walls is almost a no discussion as either the drywall or floor will let you know you have a leak within seconds or a minute or two.) The Toilet uses flushing components which you can buy yourself to replace, at any hardware store, & fix for less than 10 bucks without calling a plumber. A toilet flushes after you push the lever and then fills itself, and stops filling after reaching the destined set amount. If it keeps filling then one has a bad flusher, buy a new one & replace. Toilets is not what this subject is about, I have a feeling your life is not going to be easy.

The pressure drops because you're shutting the water off. There's no pressure when the water is off. You can check if the little triangle on the meter is turning when the water is on. If everything in the house is off, but it's turning, that indicates a leak.
