And he shall make atonement for the holy place, because of the uncleanness of the children of Israel, and because of their transgressions in all their sins…and he shall go out unto the altar that is before the LORD, and make an atonement for it; and shall take of the blood of the goat, and put it upon the horns of the altar round about. And he shall sprinkle of the blood upon it with his finger seven times, and cleanse it, and hallow it from the uncleanness of the children of Israel.” All of this was done “for the LORD,” for God is holy and in order to provide forgiveness for guilty sinners an acceptable sacrifice had to be made. This offering pictures the perfect sacrifice Christ made on the cross to satisfy God’s holy demands against sin so that God could offer men forgiveness based on that sacrifice. 1 John 4:10 speaks to this, “Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us, and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins.” The word “propitiation” means “a satisfying sacrifice” and in the death of Christ, God is satisfied! This is what is represented by the FIRST GOAT. The SECOND GOAT is presented in verses 10 and 20-22, “But the goat, on which the lot fell to be the scapegoat, shall be presented alive before the LORD, to make an atonement with Him, and to let him go for a scapegoat into the wilderness…he shall bring the live goat: and Aaron shall lay both his hands upon the head of the live goat, and confess over him all the iniquities of the children of Israel, and all their transgressions in all their sins, putting them upon the head of the goat, and shall send him away by the hand of a fit man into the wilderness: and the goat shall bear upon him all their inquities unto a land not inhabited.” The word “scapegoat” is the Hebrew word Azazel, meaning “goat of departure.” Once the sins of Israel were confessed they were transferred to the goat that then carried them away into the wilderness. This is a beautiful picture to us of Christ bearing the sins of all who would confess their sins and believe on Him as their Savior. The believer knows that their sins were laid on Christ, as we see in Isaiah 53:6, “the LORD hath laid on Him the iniquity of us all.” And every believer is assured that Christ bore the judgment for those sins on Calvary, which Peter declared in 1 Peter 2:24, “Who His own self bare our sins in His own body on the tree.” Because Christ bore our sins, they have been removed from God’s sight and we can claim the promise of Psalm 103:12, “As far as the east is from the west, so far hath He removed our transgressions from us.” This is the blessed truth represented by the SECOND GOAT

I'm getting it. I do have that faith. I used to think that repentance meant getting my life perfect. But repentance is just surrendering to Jesus daily. Loving Him. Believing he took our sin on the cross and bore it. We aren't bound to the flesh to continue in sin. We don't treasure sin, we despise it. We run from it. We look to Jesus and the more we do, the more we become like him. But it's not in our power - it's because of Jesus. I receive that. In my mind nothing else makes sense, and in my heart I love my Saviour. Done with works and done with hedonism and just living a life of self.

Notice Jesus says keep MY commands. Did Jesus say keep the law or keep My commands? Did Jesus leave commands? Sure. He said things such as... if someone asks to borrow you can’t say no. Guys, all I am trying to say is that I am learning to draw on the Lord's strength and have repented of sin. Doesn't mean we ALL don't screw up sometimes as Christians. (1 John 1:8) - We all need Jesus. The goodness of God is that He saves us and transforms those who yield to him - throughout our lives. I'm not a slave to fear anymore but a child of God.
when i was 15yrs old, i tried committing suicide. i took 20 pills. i was so close to death. my whole body swelled up. i got bumps all over my body. my throat was startin to close up and i could barely even breathe. i knew i was seconds away from death. i was gasping for air. i got scared and regretted it right away. i wished ive never done it. for the first time in my life, i cried out to God and told him i dont wanna die. i jus need help. plz help me. plz help me. i wept. within seconds, i felt this warmth, love and peace surround me. i knew for a fact it was God. within seconds, he healed my whole body. i could breathe. swelling was gone. he instantly delivered me from suicidal thoughts and depression after strugglin with it for 6yrs. psychiatrists and psychologists and takin their medicine never helped. the only thing that WORKED was when i cried out to God and asked him for help. he instantly saved me and delivered me and performed miracles on me. he gave me a new outlook on life. for once in my life i actually wanted to live and not die. that was something odd for me cuz for 6yrs i wanted to die so bad. my mom had cancer and shes the reason why i tried taking my life cuz i didnt wanna lose her. i lost her at 16yrs old and lost my dad at 17yrs old. i didnt kno Jesus until i was 24 n a half yrs old. im 25 now n my relationship with Jesus is so strong. hes helped me change into a whole diff person. ppl actually see the miraculous change in me. if it wasnt for Jesus, id be dead right now. The only healer u need is Jesus. hes our healer. Go to Jesus for healing. im living proof 😊💖 Jesus loves u😊💖 he wants u to repent and forsake ur sins, be born again and place ur faith n trust in him. start havin a personal relationship with Jesus and obey him 😊💖

The Holy Spirit entered my body. i really felt it when he entered me. i was filled with peace, love and comfort. God shared his love with me and gave me understanding of how much he really loves all of us. God loves the worst person out there. Even a murderer who killed 50 million ppl. God said he loves that person and hes ready to forgive them if only they ask. He's ready and willing to forgive u and remember ur sins no more. It was love that none of us could express. God told me he doesnt want hell for any of us. Hes not mean at all like some of us may see him. He only warns us because he loves us so much and wants us being reconciled back to him. I felt the holy spirit grieve in me. i started weeping nonstop for hours. The Holy Spirit was weeping for all the lost souls. He told me to pray and plead with God for forgiveness, mercy, grace and more time for all the lost sinners. pray that they come into a repentance and God softens their heart. God doesn't want hell for us. He weeps when 1 soul goes to hell. The lil bit of grief he allowed me to feel was too much for me to bear. i told God i cant handle this grief. its too much for me. God took the grief away from me. He just wanted me to know how high, deep and wide his love really is. I had hate for my enemy and unforgiveness but God gave me HIS OWN love for my enemy. And now i have love for my enemy and ive been trying to help him get saved and be reconciled back to God. There's no way u can love ur enemies on ur own. U can only love ur enemies when u SHARE in Gods love 😊💖 God is truly beautiful and he loves you so much. He doesnt want bad for u. He wants u to know and feel how much he loves you and he is for u 😊💖 we may fail God and get mad at him, but God will never fail us and will never leave us. I know this from experience😊 Jesus loves u 💖😊 read the bible starting in the book of John 😊 The NLT version is more easier to understand than KJV 😊💖

My parents raise sheep and goats. We talk about this all the time. Sheep are so different from goats. Goats are constantly getting out of the barn yard and getting into trouble and going over to the neighbors land. The sheep stay together and even when the fence has a breach they stay close by. Also to groom the goats is always a fight but the sheep will let us shear them with no fight at all.

Clearly you haven’t understood this Old Testament text, This has nothing to do with if Jesus is a lamb or a goat or a Ram or something else. In the Old Testament they sacrificed many different animals and all of them leads to the ultimate sacrifice of Jesus on the cross. So please don’t misunderstand what this whole message is about. I know Jesus is called the lamb of God, but in this parable the sacrifice for all the sins of the Israelites was a live goat. If you still don’t understand this: Two goats-one for the Lord, one for another The high priest was to deal with the two goats. One would represent the Lord and the other, often called the “scapegoat,” would represent something else. He cast lots to determine which each would represent (Leviticus 16:8). Note Leviticus 16:9: “And Aaron shall bring the goat on which the Lord’s lot fell, and offer it as a sin offering.” This goat, which represented the Lord, was sacrificed as a sin offering. It clearly stood for Jesus Christ, the ultimate sin offering who was slain for the sins of the whole world. Since two goats were involved, many think both goats were to represent the Lord. But notice the contrast here in Leviticus 16:8: “One lot for the Lord and the other lot for the scapegoat”-only one goat was to represent the Lord. The other goat was not. Note Leviticus 16:10: “But the goat on which the lot fell to be the scapegoat [or Azazel ] shall be presented alive before the Lord, to make atonement upon it, and to let it go as the scapegoat into the wilderness.” So this goat was not to be killed as the goat for the Lord was. The high priest was to “lay both hands on the head of the live goat and confess over it all the wickedness and rebellion of the Israelites-all their sins-and put them on the goat’s head. He shall send the goat away into the wilderness in the care of someone appointed for the task. The goat will carry on itself all their sins to a remote place; and the man shall release it in the wilderness” (Leviticus 16:21-22) This sending away into the desert is part of the reason for translating Azazel as scapegoat, or goat that escapes. But many scholars identify Azazel as the name of a demon inhabiting the wilderness. It stands to reason that Azazel is one in stark contrast to the Lord-indeed, the ultimate enemy Satan the devil. Christ bore our sins to the cross in order to pay the ransom price for them through His own blood (and the resurrected Christ was portrayed by the high priest presenting the slain goat’s blood before God). In contrast, Satan bears the blame for sin as he was the first to lead mankind astray in the Garden of Eden and continues to deceive humanity today (2 Corinthians 11:3). And he is the tempter (Matthew 4:3)-enticing the world into sin. The high priest placing sins on the live goat and having it driven away parallels the future of Satan and his demons at Christ’s return. They will be removed at the outset of Jesus’ reign over the nations, as John describes in Revelation 20:1-3: “Then I saw an angel coming down from heaven, having the key to the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand. He laid hold of the dragon, that serpent of old, who is the Devil and Satan, and bound him for a thousand years; and he cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal on him, so that he should deceive the nations no more till the thousand years were finished …” Jesus died for our sins. But Satan will bear blame for his role in our sins and be banished. And with the instigator of sin removed, the world will more easily be led to atonement-“at-one-ment,” meaning to be at one-with God. Consider that if the live goat represented the resurrected Christ, then this would mean the sins Christ bore on the cross are placed back onto Him after His resurrection. Clearly this is not what happened. And there is another distinction scholars have noted. We see that the Azazel goat was to be driven from the camp of Israel. In other words, this goat was not to dwell with humanity again. This banishment fits with Satan’s future. Yet it is the exact opposite of the role of Jesus Christ, who has promised to be with His people forever. “For He Himself has said, ‘I will never leave you nor forsake you’” (Hebrews 13:5). You deny this has anything to do with the salvation and atonement of Jesus Christ blood on the cross, Please explain what you are thinking.

I'm getting it. I do have that faith. I used to think that repentance meant getting my life perfect. But repentance is just surrendering to Jesus daily. Loving Him. Believing he took our sin on the cross and bore it. We aren't bound to the flesh to continue in sin. We don't treasure sin, we despise it. We run from it. We look to Jesus and the more we do, the more we become like him. But it's not in our power - it's because of Jesus. I receive that. In my mind nothing else makes sense, and in my heart I love my Saviour. Done with works and done with hedonism and just living a life of self.

Did Jesus leave commands? Sure. He said things such as... if someone asks to borrow you can’t say no. If someone slaps you turn the other cheek. If someone robs you let them. There are so many commands Jesus left us that many have no idea about.
In Luke 14:33 Jesus said that ANYONE who wants to be a disciple ( Christian ) has to sell all that they own.
It’s funny that those who call for obedience the most are the ones who reject Luke 14:33 the most and wash it down to mean something else.
Guys, all I am trying to say is that I am learning to draw on the Lord's strength and have repented of sin. Doesn't mean we ALL don't screw up sometimes as Christians. (1 John 1:8) - We all need Jesus. The goodness of God is that He saves us and transforms those who yield to him - throughout our lives. I'm not a slave to fear anymore but a child of God.
when i was 15yrs old, i tried committing suicide. i took 20 pills. i was so close to death. my whole body swelled up. i got bumps all over my body. my throat was startin to close up and i could barely even breathe. i knew i was seconds away from death. i was gasping for air. i got scared and regretted it right away. i wished ive never done it. for the first time in my life, i cried out to God and told him i dont wanna die. i jus need help. plz help me. plz help me. i wept. within seconds, i felt this warmth, love and peace surround me. i knew for a fact it was God. within seconds, he healed my whole body. i could breathe. swelling was gone. he instantly delivered me from suicidal thoughts and depression after strugglin with it for 6yrs. psychiatrists and psychologists and takin their medicine never helped. the only thing that WORKED was when i cried out to God and asked him for help. he instantly saved me and delivered me and performed miracles on me. he gave me a new outlook on life. for once in my life i actually wanted to live and not die. that was something odd for me cuz for 6yrs i wanted to die so bad. my mom had cancer and shes the reason why i tried taking my life cuz i didnt wanna lose her. i lost her at 16yrs old and lost my dad at 17yrs old. i didnt kno Jesus until i was 24 n a half yrs old. im 25 now n my relationship with Jesus is so strong. hes helped me change into a whole diff person. ppl actually see the miraculous change in me. if it wasnt for Jesus, id be dead right now. The only healer u need is Jesus. hes our healer. Go to Jesus for healing. im living proof 😊💖 Jesus loves u😊💖 he wants u to repent and forsake ur sins, be born again and place ur faith n trust in him. start havin a personal relationship with Jesus and obey him 😊💖

The Holy Spirit entered my body. i really felt it when he entered me. i was filled with peace, love and comfort. God shared his love with me and gave me understanding of how much he really loves all of us. God loves the worst person out there. Even a murderer who killed 50 million ppl. God said he loves that person and hes ready to forgive them if only they ask. He's ready and willing to forgive u and remember ur sins no more. It was love that none of us could express. God told me he doesnt want hell for any of us. Hes not mean at all like some of us may see him. He only warns us because he loves us so much and wants us being reconciled back to him. I felt the holy spirit grieve in me. i started weeping nonstop for hours. The Holy Spirit was weeping for all the lost souls. He told me to pray and plead with God for forgiveness, mercy, grace and more time for all the lost sinners. pray that they come into a repentance and God softens their heart. God doesn't want hell for us. He weeps when 1 soul goes to hell. The lil bit of grief he allowed me to feel was too much for me to bear. i told God i cant handle this grief. its too much for me. God took the grief away from me. He just wanted me to know how high, deep and wide his love really is. I had hate for my enemy and unforgiveness but God gave me HIS OWN love for my enemy. And now i have love for my enemy and ive been trying to help him get saved and be reconciled back to God. There's no way u can love ur enemies on ur own. U can only love ur enemies when u SHARE in Gods love 😊💖 God is truly beautiful and he loves you so much. He doesnt want bad for u. He wants u to know and feel how much he loves you and he is for u 😊💖 we may fail God and get mad at him, but God will never fail us and will never leave us. I know this from experience😊 Jesus loves u 💖😊 read the bible starting in the book of John 😊 The NLT version is more easier to understand than KJV 😊💖

My parents raise sheep and goats. We talk about this all the time. Sheep are so different from goats. Goats are constantly getting out of the barn yard and getting into trouble and going over to the neighbors land. The sheep stay together and even when the fence has a breach they stay close by. Also to groom the goats is always a fight but the sheep will let us shear them with no fight at all.
And a goat will hold a grudge until it DIES! You have a disagreement with a goat and you may as well get rid of it. Lol

Clearly you haven’t understood this Old Testament text, This has nothing to do with if Jesus is a lamb or a goat or a Ram or something else. In the Old Testament they sacrificed many different animals and all of them leads to the ultimate sacrifice of Jesus on the cross. So please don’t misunderstand what this whole message is about. I know Jesus is called the lamb of God, but in this parable the sacrifice for all the sins of the Israelites was a live goat.
If you still don’t understand this:
Two goats-one for the Lord, one for another
The high priest was to deal with the two goats. One would represent the Lord and the other, often called the “scapegoat,” would represent something else. He cast lots to determine which each would represent (Leviticus 16:8).
Note Leviticus 16:9: “And Aaron shall bring the goat on which the Lord’s lot fell, and offer it as a sin offering.” This goat, which represented the Lord, was sacrificed as a sin offering. It clearly stood for Jesus Christ, the ultimate sin offering who was slain for the sins of the whole world.
Since two goats were involved, many think both goats were to represent the Lord. But notice the contrast here in Leviticus 16:8: “One lot for the Lord and the other lot for the scapegoat”-only one goat was to represent the Lord. The other goat was not.
Note Leviticus 16:10: “But the goat on which the lot fell to be the scapegoat [or Azazel ] shall be presented alive before the Lord, to make atonement upon it, and to let it go as the scapegoat into the wilderness.”
So this goat was not to be killed as the goat for the Lord was. The high priest was to “lay both hands on the head of the live goat and confess over it all the wickedness and rebellion of the Israelites-all their sins-and put them on the goat’s head. He shall send the goat away into the wilderness in the care of someone appointed for the task. The goat will carry on itself all their sins to a remote place; and the man shall release it in the wilderness” (Leviticus 16:21-22)
This sending away into the desert is part of the reason for translating Azazel as scapegoat, or goat that escapes. But many scholars identify Azazel as the name of a demon inhabiting the wilderness.
It stands to reason that Azazel is one in stark contrast to the Lord-indeed, the ultimate enemy Satan the devil.
Christ bore our sins to the cross in order to pay the ransom price for them through His own blood (and the resurrected Christ was portrayed by the high priest presenting the slain goat’s blood before God). In contrast, Satan bears the blame for sin as he was the first to lead mankind astray in the Garden of Eden and continues to deceive humanity today (2 Corinthians 11:3). And he is the tempter (Matthew 4:3)-enticing the world into sin.
The high priest placing sins on the live goat and having it driven away parallels the future of Satan and his demons at Christ’s return. They will be removed at the outset of Jesus’ reign over the nations, as John describes in Revelation 20:1-3:
“Then I saw an angel coming down from heaven, having the key to the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand. He laid hold of the dragon, that serpent of old, who is the Devil and Satan, and bound him for a thousand years; and he cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal on him, so that he should deceive the nations no more till the thousand years were finished …”
Jesus died for our sins. But Satan will bear blame for his role in our sins and be banished. And with the instigator of sin removed, the world will more easily be led to atonement-“at-one-ment,” meaning to be at one-with God.
Consider that if the live goat represented the resurrected Christ, then this would mean the sins Christ bore on the cross are placed back onto Him after His resurrection. Clearly this is not what happened.
And there is another distinction scholars have noted. We see that the Azazel goat was to be driven from the camp of Israel. In other words, this goat was not to dwell with humanity again. This banishment fits with Satan’s future. Yet it is the exact opposite of the role of Jesus Christ, who has promised to be with His people forever. “For He Himself has said, ‘I will never leave you nor forsake you’” (Hebrews 13:5).
You deny this has anything to do with the salvation and atonement of Jesus Christ blood on the cross, Please explain what you are thinking.
