Dude, i googled Subaru truck bed conversion and 8 days ago you posted your update (i watched both videos, this gives me hope if I’m ever bored enough and put a lift on the subaru that I will do this to mine, but also insight that I’d be in way over my head with the time that i have and buying a truck is a way better option for me.
I'm super impressed by your fab skills and technique! I'm not even interested in Subies. I found your build by mistake looking for Jetta ute conversions. I have 6 TDIs and looking to do a Jetta ute conversion. I thought I would cut and weld a rear cab section from mini truck for the Jetta ute conversion until I saw you use a rear hatch to make your rear cab section. I also like the way you capped off your bed rails and tailgate. I hope to see some updates on your build.
I watched your whole series so far. Did you come up with an idea for the tail gate latch? I saw the hinges and bumpers, but not sure if you attached a latch yet.
More work on your Subarute actually there have been a couple of vehicles that have been converted into utes one is a Mercedes Benz ute which made from a Mercedes Benz W123 station wagon done probably in the 1980s and actually l driven a Mercedes-Benz ute it was a commercial Mecedes Benz with a single can and an aluminium tray drop side but it is still a ute it had the OM617 5 cylinder turbo charged diesel engine the very reliable engine when Mercedes-Benz made very good vehicles and l can tell you it wasn't luxurious didn't even have air-conditioning and to drive a truck you need an upgraded licence and to drive a ute you don't have to you got it you are building a ute
im sorry i hate to be the guy that says this but if you wanted a ute or a mini subaru truck you should have just got a used subaru baja and saved yourself all the work. i love subaru forester and watching you hack this one apart made me sad....
I am enjoying this project, can't wait to you smooth things out.
Congrats friend 😍 very cool work! Like this Subaru model !! Wonderful work , you're an artist

Haha, yeah it is always deceiving how much time it takes for projects...
Thanks so much for all of the detail and explanation! I plan on building a truck out of my 95 accord and this is super helpful! Keep up the good work!
It looks like it would make a good trap vehicle. There is a nice volume of space at the back of the cab and below the bed. It would be easily hidden.
You did an insane amount of fabrication for this, wow.
You're doing a great job with all of this. Keep it up!
Thank you for not making a gigantic fiberglass monster out of your car..
Steel is real.🤘

Thanks so much for an update. Great job
I found the same issue with my tail gate, I cut the bumper down a bit to keep the same look and I’m gonna reform the bumper a bit
Love it, man! Really excited to see where this goes. Keep up the great work!
Congratlations! I'm from Brasil. Wonderfull work
You doing amazing work! Keep it up!

Im in denver i do some body work and paint

This is very cool!
You just needed curved arms from the gate to the hinge which would then push the gate past the bumper when open.
Interesting

If you had cut 2 inches off the tail gate the top would have matched in to the roof line
It’s not fair of RUclips to put commercials in videos that don’t make the RUclipsr money.
Agreed, but would you expect any better from youtube/google/alphabet?

This called fabrication Monsieur professor at night.
Obviously you don’t hate to be that guy other wise you wouldn’t have said anything 💀. He didn’t want that other Subaru he wanted to build this one 😆.
WANT TO DO THIS TO MY PEGEOT 308 ESTATE 2014
