So, when I started playing I really wanted orange roses. It was simple to just breed yellow and red roses until I got two oranges roses to clone. The next day the orange roses produced another rose, and I picked up the baby rose to move it expecting it to be an orange rose. To my surprise, it was a blue rose- on my second week of playing completely on accident.
you can do it in as little as two months with several friends watering daily. That's how long it took me. But i got really lucky because i only had to repeat a step once. The worst part is waiting for the hybrid reds to produce the blue rose.
me before realizing how to breed flowers: *puts all of the flowers of the same type in one group* me after: *also realizing i have made hybrid flowers on accident*
Because blue roses aren't natural at all. The rose has to be genetically modified to have the blue pigment - at best in reality it comes off looking more lilac in color. No amount of typical cross-breeding will ever get you a blue rose irl. That's why it's so hard to get them in animal crossing, why the genes have to be so specific.
Me watching this, who has a garden of blue roses without knowing they were rare: 👁👄👁 EDIT: I JUST REALIZED I DIDNT HAVE BLUE ROSES, IT WAS BLUE WINDFLOWERS AAA
Just plant tons of roses from seed bags in order to increase your output of the flowers you want. Then when you move them on to the next step, you have a higher chance of getting the desired rose from THAT cross, because there are more potential roses that can breed. It's been about a week for me (no time travel) and I'm already on the testing-the-purple-rose step. The only reason this took so long is because neither my store nor Leif sold roses so I had to run around for a few days on Nookazon trying to get some seeds.
I studied the whole flower breeding genotypes one day when bored and came up with a way to get hybrid reds that have 1/64 chance of blues: 1) Breed seed white and seed red. Half the reds this pair breeds will be "good" reds. 2) Breed seed yellow and "good" reds. You can use all the reds you get from step 1 for this one. "Bad" reds bred with yellow will NOT breed red or white flowers. You know it's a good red if good reds and seed yellows can breed white and red. Also, the reds these two breed will always be hybrid reds, the ones with 1/64 chance of blue. Also best to breed in pairs of two to avoid any cloned flowers. 3) Breed hybrid red and hybrid red. These will sometimes breed black or orange or red, some of which can have as high as a 1/4 chance for blue. It's best to keep these separate and clone these orange and blacks and reds alone. Take this with a grain of salt, because I can't confirm this works, but I'm 100% sure it does. I can report back later on, I currently have a few hybrid reds after nearly a week since planting seeds. Edit: Can confirm this works!
@@Nanomakashi Thanks! He's staying on my island for eternity. Also, nobody will notice this, but I can finally confirm this works. Had my blue rose bud show up today using what I mentioned above.
Got my single Blue rose lol without time traveling and by using the natural Roses that were on my island didn’t know about the “seeds genes” thing before i started breeding them. Well i got lucky i guess
Name Name yeah but then the people who time travel complain about a lack of things to do, even though they skipped months ahead where they shouldn’t even be yet!
Roses are my native flower. I found a rare flower island and took a lot of oranges with me. Now I have blue roses. On the other hand I still struggle to get a fecking purple windflower!!!
I got a blue hyacinth and I love it with all my life. I know there’s people out there with every single color of every flower, and that’s really cool! But I’m just as happy with my one flower :D
My mom made a black rose, and for us, that's a achievement. Edit: We made multiple purple and black roses and multiple black cosmos, windflowers, and tulips. She did all the work for the flowers because I don't really want to deal with that complicated stuff, but it's amazing. I don't know when we'll get a blue rose tho.
Hi koramora! There is a way to clone any flower. If a flower is alone, it will duplicate. Just leave a certain flower of your choice alone and leave it like that for a few days. Make sure to have some space for the flower to duplicate. Then, water it everyday just like other flowers. Over a few days, it should clone! This method always works for me. I clone black roses and breed them to get gold roses!
@@georgiaraydela I actually do. Some normal roses spawned right next to each other on my island and naturally breeded as I played until they made purple, blue, and black!
@@georgiaraydela not when I first started the island, but they naturally re-produced to make those colors, so to me they are natural. Sorry for the confusion!
I got a blue rose using Asteriation's 4 step method in 2.5 weeks, not time travelling. In the end I had about 18 pairs of "hybrid reds" and I had friends water my flowers for me to increase the spawn rate. It's not impossible to get them legitimately if you know what you're doing.
I'm a new player to AC and just started with New Horizons and gardening is one of my favorite things to do, so I didn't realize how rare/special my flowers were until now-
Did the easier 4-step Asteriation method featured in the DazzaBound and John Austin Plays videos, no time travel, but I did have a friend from another island come water every single day and then yesterday once had quite a few hybrid reds had 3 visitors come and water. This morning woke up to two blue roses! They actually came from the “losers bracket” of replanting the reds that come from the step 4 hybrid reds in another area together shown in the John Austin Plays video. Took a little under a month in realtime from start to finish. Also, there are now updated versions of the flower guides you show with some corrections and additional info
how is it going for you? I'm on my 40-ish day of TT but still no blue xD so I've been opening my gate so wide for other players to water my hybrid red LOL
I started 2 weeks ago in my BRq...I have 4 of them now. I tt'ed for 90 days just to get the hybrid reds, then it was a waiting game. I used the 4 step method and it worked. GL in your quest.
I bred a blue rose using the Paleh method. It took from the time of the datamine until last week to grow, with 5 visitors watering my flowers every single day. It was a pain, but SO rewarding when they finally popped up!
I'm working on the Blue rose without time travelling. Helps a lot with the dodocodes community coming to my island and water daily. Breeding is 5X more effective with just 1 friend help water. I used my own method after reading the shared google doc on flower genomes. The step to get to the special hybrid purple takes a long time.
“the thought of trying to get a blue rose without time traveling is devastating” me, trying to get a blue rose, who has only time traveled once because i forgot to get turnips from daisy mae: *interesting* edit: im actually getting quite close, i have 2 hybrid red roses and breeding those will get me a blue rose
I got blue roses without time travelling. I sometimes had a friend over to water to make it faster. I used a different method by BackwardsN, which is considerably easier. I will put links below. Basically the method has four steps. 1. Place red and white roses from seed bags in 1x5 strokes going w-r-w-r-w. This prevents the reds from cloning. Keep the new reds, ditch the rest. 2. Place the new reds together with yellow roses from seed bags. Again in 1x5 y-r-y-r-y. You will get another hybrid reds you want to keep. Ditch the rest. 3. Put those reds in a turtleshell pattern. (The pattern is easy to google). Keep the reds, oranges and blacks. Ditch the rest. (you might already get a blue at step 3,but the chance is low) 4. Dump the reds, oranges and blacks for together into a turtleshell pattern. At some point you get a blue there. The method is pretty easy, with few steps and no testing, but you require to plant and water a lot of plants. It's the quantitative approach. Source: docs.google.com/document/d/1anxm3WwEKyh0_-l_lZIAUETaa_q432Px3griacQ3NcU/edit?usp=drivesdk
statistically it is impossible up to 5σ certainty if you do this truly randomly; you literally have less than 0.0001% to get a blue if you arrange your flowers in a complete random manner (including arrangement of flowers, how you group them) with a moderate test sample. Unless of course you got some hybrid flowers from an island. Otherwise, please kindly fuck off.
@@blindwhy First of all, have some respect. Secondly, yes, I have some hybrid flowers on my island, and all appeared randomly when I was time travelling to kick out some villagers, but they're far from the spot where the blue one sprouted. The blue one appeared near a couple whose colors I don't really remember, so maybe I got extra lucky with this. I'm not THAT bored to lie about some virtual blue flower on a videogame lol Edit: I checked out, and I have a patch of seven blue roses near a patch of pink ones, and some single blues near oranges. I don't know how hybridation works, but these are the facts xD
@@blindwhy So your saying because something is unlikely its impossible for something to happen, over 10 million people have new horizons, it will have happened to some of them
I don't time travel on my island and finally got blue roses to grow (the first one popped up last week, and I've had some others independently spawn in other locations since). The weirdest thing is that I had been really trying to follow a few of the rose breeding guides, but that isn't where the blue ones spawned. While I was working on the blue roses I decided to also focus on golds, and got an explosion of black roses. After having a lot of success with the gold roses and none with the blues, I got a bit burnt out and started to let all the rose gardens go for a bit, and of course that's when the blues started popping up, but they have all come from black roses. The first one was surrounded by black and golds, and popped up after about a week of rain (I hadn't been watering them in that time). Since golds don't breed or spread I feel like the blues had to come from some hidden gene combination in a couple of the black roses I had. After that I decided to let them go a bit more and see what would happen, and in a lower spot in the garden I got a blue rose next to a few black and red roses, so I'm not sure what combo of genes came in, but I was happy none-the-less. I had never seen a guide that said blue roses can come from black roses, so I was really shocked, but in the end I'm not surprised since the roses do seem to have very complicated genes. I just found it funny that they kind of spawned naturally on their own once I let the gardens sprawl out, and none of the "proven" methods of getting the blues has worked for me yet.
I actually got blue roses without time travel and without hybrid island! I used the 4-step method you can find in many RUclips videos (the one in which you use the hybrid red roses gotten from pink and yellow roses). Having 3-4 friends over watering the roses was a huge help!
I just got blue roses and all I did was trying to breed orange roses together and it worked. No time travelling, no hybrid islands. pure luck I suppose, but i'm happy I finally got one.
I just traded to get blue roses & they duplicate after that so,, infinite blue roses. Epic. If you join animal crossing discord servers you can get em really easily. People are always selling them.
ik a lot of people don’t like to do this but… going to treasure islands really helped me a lot with the beautiful island ordinance is seriously helpful (btw if u dont have nintendo online just do the free trial)
I am actually enjoy the breeding process! Everyday when i open the game and check if there's purple prom my seed white field, to check if there's black from my seed red, so on, been doing that for two weeks now, everyday, getting closer and closer. Friends offered me some blue roses but i rejected them because i just enjoy that so much! I am not rushing anywhere anyway.
I've been playing New Horizons for 1 month, and didn't know blue roses were so hard to get, I accidentally got one mixing a red rose with a pink one, I didn't even know about this system in the game, I am glad I have that rose now that I know this, maybe I got lucky or they updated something, anyways, thanks for the useful information! I subscribed and I've been watching all your videos for tips!
I got blue roses without time-traveling, the hybrid island, OR test breeding. It took me 2-3 weeks, but I did have the benefit of friends watering daily. The secret is to actually understand Mendelian genetics and to do the punnet squares for each step so that you know what your possible products are and which of them are "safe" vs. which have a chance to produce useless offspring. I took black roses (ANY black rose will do, there are no bad genotypes for black roses) + seed yellows to make RrYyWWss oranges. cross seed whites to make purples (rryywwss) Your oranges & purples to make reds. Here it's tricky - the reds might be bad hybrids (RryyWwss) instead of good ones (RrYyWwss). Put those reds together. You have an obscenely low chance of getting blues here, but really what we're looking for is their blacks. Replace the blacks from that first step with these. The hope is to end up with a RRYywwss black. That, when crossed with your seed yellows, can produce reds that are guaranteed to be useful. Clone the crap out of those reds and throw them in a plot together. 1/64 chance of blues isn't so bad if you have 5 waterers come to your island every day.
Similar thing happened to me. I followed a hybrid guide and got all the way to the special orange hybrids ... took weeks ... and I still haven't gotten a blue rose out of them. But elsewhere on my island, two black roses just happened to have exactly the right genetics to make a blue hybrid. Bam.
Koramora: imagine animal crossing without dataminds and time travel, imagine play how the game intended us to it would be so hard. Me: hasn’t time traveled once.
I've been working on blue roses since about a month after the game was released (no time travel) - I'm using the Paleh method, I've just gotten my first 0220 white rose! 😁 Not too many steps to go now, I've genuinely enjoyed how slow the process is - makes each step feel like a huge accomplishment to me
So I got a blue rose in about a week using the austinjohn method and no time travelling. Had friends come and water every day which helped speed things up
I've been working on blue roses from pure scratch since June 30th of this year (no time travelling for flowers specifically, and no friends to come water (except for a couple times when i opened my island for shooting star stuff)) I'd love to announce, that I'm on the second to last step for blue roses. Will try to edit this as soon as i get a blue rose
For those trying to get blue roses organically and without time travel: look up the four step method on RUclips. And trade watering on the nofeeac subreddit. If you get your roses to "gold" sparkles every day, and you plant a lot of roses, you can have blue roses in about two weeks. It's a lot of work to grind waterings, this is true. But the simplicity of the four step method will make this all less frustrating because you won't have to do tests and waste days on those. Each step in the four step method produces a new color (except for special reds at the end) so it's easier to manage. And while the special reds from the four step method have a very, very low chance of producing a blue rose, with water trading you will have tons of opportunities to get blue roses. From there, separate any blue roses you get, trade watering, and clone the hell out of them.
I got a blue rose without time travel and hybrid island a few days ago. It took about two weeks but it was definitely worth it! I followed the Austin John Plays tutorial and had 5 friends plus myself water every day. Now on to the easier hybrids!
Austin John Plays has about the simplest way to breed blue roses. I tried and it worked, got my first blue about a month after I started trying without time travel. It would work a lot faster if you can get other people to water your flowers. Oddly, I got the green mum completely by accident, I had a bunch of mixed yellow flowers around one of my villager's houses and one day there way a green mum there. The purple windflower took me a while as well.
I finally got blues roses last month and yes I didn’t time travel and mums are our island flower. I am proud that last week I also got purple windflower so now I have every color.
My friend got blue roses without tt or hybrid island, she followed like 30 steps and had 5 people come and water everyday , after about 20 days the first one bloomed ! (I watered for her a lot !)
0:37 is actually true. If grown from seeds, a red pansy (RR yy ww) and a yellow pansy (rr YY ww) will 100% of the time produce orange pansies (Rr Yy ww). The appearance of red and yellow pansies can be explained by how flowers produce new flowers. If the game has successfully rolled for a flower to produce offspring, it will search for a possible flower to breed with in a 3x3 square around itself. If it finds a compatible flower, it will randomly inherit one gene from every gene pair for both of its parent flowers. these flowers will then be temporarily marked unavailable for breeding with other flowers for that cycle. If however there is no compatible flower available to produce hybrids with, the flower will instead create a genetic duplicate of itself. This can explain you getting flowers that have the same color as their parent. If you plant flowers in a row or a grid, it is very possible for flowers to sometimes not have suitable partners to produce hybrids with due to the flowers around them already breeding with other flowers on the same cycle. I guarantee you, if you plant a yellow and red pansy from seeds next to each other with no other flowers touching them in a 3x4 square around them, they will ONLY produce oranges.
Yes! I have gotten my blue roses without time travel and I started breeding for them almost when the game started. Basically when the genetic information was data mined. Got them about two weeks ago! So, 5 months!
I used a data mined guide and got blue roses in about a month in real time without time travel. I did it by dedicating large swath of my island to rose breeding and had a friend who watered everyday and other who did sporadically. I did white seed plus red seed giving reds. Then all reds from that breed with yellow seed. Then reds from that breed with each other to get blue roses. I did the line method to ensure there was no self cloning so the reds were never clones and always off spring.
I got my first Blue Rose in the middle of September without a hybrid island or time travel. At the time I was breeding Black Roses for Gold Roses not even realising I could get a Blue Rose that way, but after about a month and a half or two, a Blue Rose appeared.
I bred blue Roses without hybrid island but with time traveling. I didn't do any of that complicated stuff with checking to see if I had the right genes. What I did was I used a 5x5 block to produce a hybrid purple from whites flowers and another block to produce orange. Then built up another 5x5 block to breed the purple and orange together. Every time they produced a hybrid red, put into the next 5x5 block. That block got bigger and bigger as I expanded it for a better chance at a blue rose. I expanded it with its own red offspring as well as those from the orange and purple block. I know that some of those roses will have the wrong genes, but the quantity is what counts. Somewhere in there the right two will be next to each other. It took a few days of time travelling, but I got my blue rose. Separated it from the rest and let it clone. I now have 6 blue rose plants, which produce a baby about every 3rd day in real time. You can make it very complicated for yourself but you don't have to!
i bred blue roses using the same guide u used... without time traveling and the hybrid island. I had my gf water the flowers for me each day so that helped. Took me some 2 months to get it
Seed white plus seed white for hpurple, breed with seed red for hybrid pinks, trash reds from that pairing. Breed the pinks with seed yellows, keep any reds from the pink and yellow pairs. Trash everything else. Breed the reds you got as they can all breed blue roses, but at the lowest chance. The key is that you breed large amounts of these reds for maximum odds that atleast one red pair produces a blue, this has worked for me twice, so definitely try it! I believe it’s called the bulk breeding method
By the way, the path named "BackwardsN" in that guide you used is actually the "Folklore" path. BackwardsN is a different blue rose path that has a lot of gene uncertainty and is better for mass-breeding. Edit: The guide you used just labeled it wrong, but it still has accurate information. It's still completely fine to use!
Non-time traveller here. I've been trying for blue roses for a month now, I've reached the 2nd half of the Backwards-N method. I have a small chance of rolling blue now, but it's VERY slim right now. About 6% from two hybrid oranges and 1.6% from hybrid reds (2nd gen).
No time travel here and I am on the testing purple stage. I've been at it since the day Leif was introduced and he sold me rose seeds. But I made a discovery: you can streamline by combining the testing purple stage with the purple+orange stage. Skip the testing stage. Breed all your second-generation purples with orange. If you're using the wrong purple, you'll get red and white from the oranges, but if you're using the right purple, you'll get orange and yellow along with red and white. It's still a crapshoot (50/50 false negative rate) but it saves a step! You can also improve your good purple rate from 50/50 up to about 60/40 (over a few generations) by replacing the old purple in your purple/white breeding pair with the new one each time.
With backwardsN as the method i used, it took me about 3 months without time travel to get blue roses, but i hosted my island 4 times to receive extra watering at the end of things to speed up the process. Knowing what im doing now, id say if i tried again from scratch it would probably still take at least 2 to 2.5 months to see a blue rose without help watering or time travel. edit: i didnt bother worrying about the purple rose test. looking at the genetics at a breeding simulation site, it seems as though the only downside of not testing that step is it wont make the hybrid oranges and just the 1.6% chance red roses, but wouldnt damage the genetic path further down the line so its still safe to use those purples that make yellows edit: also, they dont say on that chart, but with the 1.6% chance red roses, about 1/3rd of those will have different genetics and not make the blue rose. No way to tell so i had to mix them in with the 2/3rds good red roses
i did it i started from seed bags and got them in a few hours from tt and I followed a guide and it was a 4 step prosses plant white roses from seed bags these should touch like 10 or so, you will get purple roses throw away all white roses you get from this step. Step 2 in a new spot plant red roses from seed bags like 6 making sure there is a 2 space gap from your other reds so they don't make offspring flowers move the purples from step 1 next to these reds so you get pink roses throw away all roses that aren't pink. step 3 plant a lot of yellow roses from seed bags and place the pinks from step 2 next to them make sure that no yellows are touching use the two space gap as before you will get hybrid reds from the pink and yellows roses throw away all roses that are not hybrid red. step 4 plant lots of your hybrid red in a hex pattern and you will get blue roses thay have a 1/64 chance to spawn a blue rose as before throw away all offsprings that are not blue from here as they have a different gens from the good hybrid reds you just made in step 3 keep adding more reds from step 3 and you will increase your odds of getting blues remember to get rid of all flowers that are not the color you need for each step as you need the right gens to get blues and thay have the wrong gens you need for the process hope i help someone
fyi it took me about 60 or so days in tt to get the roses from this method with no one but me watering but myself with friends watering this process with go faster
I got blue roses without time travel. It took me about 3 weeks, but I applied much pressure on friends to visit and water things. I used BackwardN's "Shotgun Method". It skips purple flowers because they cause so much pain. The way I did it was: Step 0: MARK THE GROUND. Dear god, mark the ground. This is huge. My method was: Sand Path = seed, Dirt Path = Hybrid, Dark Dirt Path = SuperHybridZomg 1. W(seed) + R(seed) = Keep only Red offspring, call it R* | Lined in 1x5 rows WRWRW. The order matters. 1a. In a separate area, grow a bunch of Y(seed)s. Sand path this area or block them in with fences/roads. 2. R* + Y(seed) = R** (These are actual 1110 Reds.) | Lined in 1x5 rows YRYRY. Again, the order matters. 3. Group the R**s in a turtle/super-turtle layout. I got my blue from group 3. It's 1.5% chance. So, I admittedly got lucky. 4. From group 3, gather Orange Black and Reds and plant them in a separate Group 4 in a super turtle. Junk all other children. 4a. From group 4, you can keep Orange Black and Reds that spawn. Junk all other children. The thing about this is that it scales. Eventually, section 1 goes away. I don't have any seed reds or whites anymore. I have some of section 2 still, but only because I've been too lazy to clean them up. After 2-3 weeks, I had 30+ in both groups 3 and 4, and 4 can kind of explode in size. It helps significantly if you can get people to water... even 1 ups the chances from 5% to 25%. I studied the whole flower breeding genotypes one day when bored and came up with a way to get hybrid reds that have 1/64 chance of blues:
1) Breed seed white and seed red.
I love how you have Pierce as your dp

@@Nanomakashi Thanks! He's staying on my island for eternity.
Also, nobody will notice this, but I can finally confirm this works. Had my blue rose bud show up today using what I mentioned above.

I don't know when we'll get a blue rose tho.
This game made me obsessed with flowers that I never knew was even possible
I got some blue hyacinths out of some whites and dint know that blues rare
Hi koramora! There is a way to clone any flower. If a flower is alone, it will duplicate. Just leave a certain flower of your choice alone and leave it like that for a few days. Make sure to have some space for the flower to duplicate. Then, water it everyday just like other flowers. Over a few days, it should clone! This method always works for me. I clone black roses and breed them to get gold roses!

I got a blue rose using Asteriation's 4 step method in 2.5 weeks, not time travelling.
In the end I had about 18 pairs of "hybrid reds" and I had friends water my flowers for me to increase the spawn rate.
It's not impossible to get them legitimately if you know what you're doing.
you give me hope cause I'm trying the same thing and it's not happening xD
I'm doing the game, albeit without using friends. Got 4 hybrid reds so far.
... or if you have friends that play the game
But each island is always gonna be different so I guess you had the same circumstances as Asteriation.
I'm a new player to AC and just started with New Horizons and gardening is one of my favorite things to do, so I didn't realize how rare/special my flowers were until now-
and it's even harder now that they removed the hybrid flower mystery island 😭
Did the easier 4-step Asteriation method featured in the DazzaBound and John Austin Plays videos, no time travel, but I did have a friend from another island come water every single day and then yesterday once had quite a few hybrid reds had 3 visitors come and water. This morning woke up to two blue roses! They actually came from the “losers bracket” of replanting the reds that come from the step 4 hybrid reds in another area together shown in the John Austin Plays video. Took a little under a month in realtime from start to finish. Also, there are now updated versions of the flower guides you show with some corrections and additional info
I'm trying to breed blue roses without hybrid island and TT. Doing it like AustinJohnPlays did in his video
how is it going for you? I'm on my 40-ish day of TT but still no blue xD so I've been opening my gate so wide for other players to water my hybrid red LOL
I did the austin jon way too and it took me over a month. I was so shocked when i finally got one i almost dropped the switch.
I used his method as well and ended up getting my blue roses from the "losers bracket" LOL His video was SO helpful!
I started 2 weeks ago in my BRq...I have 4 of them now. I tt'ed for 90 days just to get the hybrid reds, then it was a waiting game. I used the 4 step method and it worked. GL in your quest.
my native flower is roses and the wild ones just made a blue one by themselves 😂
I bred a blue rose using the Paleh method. It took from the time of the datamine until last week to grow, with 5 visitors watering my flowers every single day. It was a pain, but SO rewarding when they finally popped up!
Alright, I'm going to try this without time travel. See you in 3 years. 😅😅

Blue Roses bloomed naturally on my island and I’ve had the game like for a week now. Knowing it’s difficult to get makes me happy
(you might already get a blue at step 3,but the chance is low)
4. Dump the reds, oranges and blacks for together into a turtleshell pattern. At some point you get a blue there.
The method is pretty easy, with few steps and no testing, but you require to plant and water a lot of plants. It's the quantitative approach.

Me, who got a random lonely blue rose one day near my house: 🙄
I just went to a island and I got free blue roses
Theres no way you did. If you did you are insanely lucky omg
statistically it is impossible up to 5σ certainty if you do this truly randomly; you literally have less than 0.0001% to get a blue if you arrange your flowers in a complete random manner (including arrangement of flowers, how you group them) with a moderate test sample.
I'm not THAT bored to lie about some virtual blue flower on a videogame lol
Edit: I checked out, and I have a patch of seven blue roses near a patch of pink ones, and some single blues near oranges.
I'm so glad I have all the colours. Can't imagine going through all this again
I actually got blue roses without time travel and without hybrid island! I used the 4-step method you can find in many RUclips videos (the one in which you use the hybrid red roses gotten from pink and yellow roses). Having 3-4 friends over watering the roses was a huge help!

me who has blue roses and thought they weren’t rare: 👁👄👁💧
I got blue roses without time-traveling, the hybrid island, OR test breeding. It took me 2-3 weeks, but I did have the benefit of friends watering daily. The secret is to actually understand Mendelian genetics and to do the punnet squares for each step so that you know what your possible products are and which of them are "safe" vs. which have a chance to produce useless offspring.
I took black roses (ANY black rose will do, there are no bad genotypes for black roses) + seed yellows to make RrYyWWss oranges.
cross seed whites to make purples (rryywwss)
Your oranges & purples to make reds.
Me, accidentally making blue roses while breeding gold ones on the side while mainly aiming for purple windflowers: 😳
Similar thing happened to me. I followed a hybrid guide and got all the way to the special orange hybrids ... took weeks ... and I still haven't gotten a blue rose out of them. But elsewhere on my island, two black roses just happened to have exactly the right genetics to make a blue hybrid. Bam.

Kora: “ I wonder if anyone has got blue roses without time travelling “
Me: “ uh, I did “

I finally got my first blue rose today with no time skipping (I started trying when you posted this video)
Eyy congrats!!! Havent gotten mine yet but you getting yours finally makes me feel a lot better lol

Lol
I have played the game since the first week of release. I finally grow a blue rose. Talk about excited.
i bred blue roses using the same guide u used... without time traveling and the hybrid island. I had my gf water the flowers for me each day so that helped. Took me some 2 months to get it
I got a blue rose a few weeks into playing the game...I didn't know it was rare so I gave the whole rose to one of my vilagers
I got blue roses legit and it took me somewhere between one and two months. Lots of space taken up for it, but now Francine's yard looks nice.
Blue roses was such a utter hell that I just give them to my friends for free cause I wouldn’t wish it on anyone
Knowing what im doing now, id say if i tried again from scratch it would probably still take at least 2 to 2.5 months to see a blue rose without help watering or time travel.
edit: i didnt bother worrying about the purple rose test. looking at the genetics at a breeding simulation site, it seems as though the only downside of not testing that step is it wont make the hybrid oranges and just the 1.6% chance red roses, but wouldnt damage the genetic path further down the line so its still safe to use those purples that make yellows
edit: also, they dont say on that chart, but with the 1.6% chance red roses, about 1/3rd of those will have different genetics and not make the blue rose.
I love the beginning when she says “BLUE ROSES… BLUE FREAKIN ROSES”👌🏼😂
When you realize you didn't even try but have 3 blue roses
I got blue roses without time travel. It took me about 3 weeks, but I applied much pressure on friends to visit and water things. I used BackwardN's "Shotgun Method". It skips purple flowers because they cause so much pain. The way I did it was:
Step 0: MARK THE GROUND. Dear god, mark the ground. This is huge. My method was: Sand Path = seed, Dirt Path = Hybrid, Dark Dirt Path = SuperHybridZomg
