San Jose should have a statue of him outside their stadium. Few players are as synonymous with a club in this league as Wondo and the Quakes. We all wish to have such a player on our own club.
It's difficult to imagine San Jose without Wondo. There's a pre-Wondo Quakes, and now a post-Wondo Quakes. Now let's see how the attack adapts without Wondo's poaching style for the first time. Long live the Quakes GOAT. Look forward to seeing your statue outside Paypal Park. Thanks for all the goals Wondo.
This guy always looked like the guy that loved his job. When Matias came, he didn’t let that opportunity to work with a great manager get away. San Jose has always had a piece of my heart tbh and I’m glad this guy lasted this long.
I’ll always remember how they misspelled his name with an extra “O” during a USMNT game. He scored 3(4?) goals in that game so, he would always tell the kit people to put an extra “O” behind the crest on the inside of his shirt afterwards. thought that was so cool.
For people who talk about Chris Wondolowski's Miss against Belgium, they need to brush up more on their association football/soccer history. Wondo's miss against Belgium only cost the USMNT a spot in the Quarterfinals. I've seen way worse misses than Wondo's. Just ask Gonzalo Higuain and Rodrigo Palacio where their misses cost one of the greatest association football/soccer players in the world in Lionel Messi a FIFA World Cup title in the 2014 FIFA World Cup Final when Argentina took on Germany.
@@joesakic91 Yeah but Higuain been to two Copa America Finals and one World Cup Final while yes Wondo won something but the Gold Cup isn't that great of a competitions where your biggest teams are Mexico, Canada and USA.
he'll only be a legend in san jose no other city just san jose and they will remember him as the best player for san jose than any other player in history and that's a fact though not good enough compared to Alberth Elis lmao XD suck it san jose houston is better
Oh please. Wondo's miss only cost the USMNT a place in the quarterfinals of the 2014 FIFA World Cup. Gonzalo Higauin's and Rodrigo Palacio's misses against Germany are even worse.
He represents so much more than that moment in time. How many could continue to an amazing career and persevere after such a set back? That’s a role model to me.
@@louididdy i agree. And I am not putting him down even though reading now that is how it comes off. Because he did well for the national team outside of that. Plus just a good person amd fantastic mls career.

Incredible Career. Legend is indeed an appropriate title.
Was a kid 3 years ago in Montreal and he came and talk with me. What a legend and man of the people.

Happy Retirement Wondo! 🙌👏
Even thou I'm a Galaxy fan, It's hard to dislike this guy. So much respect for him! He is such a legend!
Wondo's last goal ended in being a 1-1 draw against FC Dallas. A true MLS legend.

Mr. 171 🇺🇸⚽️
San Jose Earthquakes needs another club legend.
Dude played in the MLS all his career but he's had one heck of a career man
for the longest time I thought Lewandowski and Wondolowski were the same guy. I thought we had one of the best strikers in the world in MLS.
Chris had a grate career so you are the one of the best MLS players
One of the Greatest US players of all time and one of the MLS greats.
Thank you Wando. 😭✊
ALL CLASS! On & off the field. What legends are made of. ⚽️
This is the way to go out, too. One last celebration on the pitch, surrounded by people who love and support you. Well done.

One of the best of the MLS. Goodbye idolo!
What a legend 👑 good thing he’s retiring so he can’t score on rsl anymore 😂
Haha 😂
Best player in MLS no doubt...Serbia love Chris
That's either Carlos Vela or Ruidiaz if he keeps up his form. Wondo was fantastic tho.
So does Belgium

It was an extra W, and he scored a hat trick. That's what I remember him for most, not the thing most other people remember him for.
