Perfect timing! I have 150 new fig trees in ground. This is exactly what I am doing for winter protection. So great confirmation for what I am also doing.

Very happy to call Bill a great friend. When we get on the phone, it is almost impossible to end our conversation. I have learned so much from him.
His practices and respect for nature are so refreshing!
I look forward to his care package of pawpaws every year.
He has been teaching me how to grow pawpaws as well.
If he was not Mr. Figs, he would be Mr. Pawpaws. 😂
    Keep spreading peace guys.
We need your combined positive energy now more than ever!

My lot in Louisiana was a hill that was bulldozed flat down to hard concrete-like red iron clay mixed with hard gravel. I started with rooted fig cuttings, dug tiny holes with a miner`s pick and put the cuttings in, added a little compost from my vegetable garden, then over time/years I put down layers of cardboard, green grass clippings, chopped leaves, rotting branches, and sandy/silty soil from a wash in the woods until the trees are growing in mounds beneath the canopy. I pee around the trees occasionally too.

Seriously incredible there. did you say he has seedlings? I must not understand well enough yet. I thought those needed to be pollinated by the wasp.
What a great story about Mr Fig sending you all those cuttings. I can't wait till I can give stuff away. I have 50 first year trees this year. They have done exceptionally well. All but a few put out figs, and I was planning on almost zero figs from them. Some have 50 figs. Most have 20-30. But they are all first year, so I am super happy. I hear the taste will only improve with time, and I am already super happy with the taste, so let's go...
What a great background story with you guys. That's what I'm all about. I need to get on our figs more often. I actually rarely use it. Just so much time in a day between work and kids. I squeeze in my few youtube videos. Thanks for the rocking videos...

@@edslim718 Hi. I’ll have to watch it and listen for that. He doesn’t have seedlings from his own trees. You are correct, that would require hand pollination or the fig wasp
