- Nissan 350z or Infiniti G35, timing chain tensioner guides wear out and will cause engine noise. If the guides break, the noise will be very loud.
Replacement tensioners have been upgraded but a repair like this recommends to replace all 3 timing chains and tensioners as well.
Also using a good synthetic engine oil will prolong the life of the engine.

How you remove those two top tensioner
How often should you replace this chain?
Will this in turn cause any kind of engine damage or bent valves?
+Musical Voice if the chain jumps a tooth it can cause you to buy a new engine
Gary Glanville But its not like the chain breaked or anything, and besides, the car was still running fine up to where it reach to the point of being too advanced until it was hard to start. Sounded like the battery was dead but it wasn't.

ANY ENGINE CAN TOLERATE 1 tooth
I have 2020 INFINITI QX60 and I just today finished replacing stretched timing chain after removing old chain and trying to put new one it was jumped by 1 tooth ,,, rotated slightly one cam back and crankshaft rotated backwards 1 tooth everything aligned perfectly
