I so agree with you, that so so sadly covid is right now, far from over! When I woke up yesterday I heard on the news just how bad it was again in Japan and getting continually worse again with the new strain. I worry so much about the olympics.i really believe this is so not the time to be travelling. Hopefully they'll somehow manage the olympics with everyone in their own country! So so sad to hear that the new strain is hitting South Korea hard now, just when things were getting a bit better there and things were opening up, everyone worldwide needs to keep having faith & hope!! I was just having a conversation with my friend in Asia about an hour before the release of the song. Covid situation there in a lot of the countries is actually getting worse, not better like here in the US (or UK and some other parts of Europe). I understand what BTS is trying to do and I applaud them. It may not be the groundbreaking song some are waiting for, but THIS SONG MADE ME FEEL HOPE. That's what they're doing with Dynamite, Butter and ESPECIALLY, PERMISSION TO DANCE. If you don't feel hope/happy watching the MV and listening to the song, maybe you're not in a position that needs encouragement and hope. That's ok. But a lot of other people in the world need to hear it right now.

I kind of fell off the BTS train back in 2019 for a few different reasons. I would still check out their title track MV releases but that was basically it. But when Dynamite came out I started to slowly ease my way back in to them. This song and MV reminded me how much they meant to me (they were my first kpop group in 2018). From the rap line singing, to the meaning behind the MV being about the world slowly going back to normal again, to that shot of Yoongi and Jungkook at 2:00 (I double bias them 🥰) I’m loving the retro vibes they’ve been using for their title tracks lately 💜 This instantly became a high contender for my soty this year!

Then I saw also this about the dance sign for deaf:

The fact that they included Sign Language again in Permission To Dance like in Boy With Luv just shows how much they care about ARMY and being inclusive, making sure every ARMY can enjoy and be involved. This is why we love BTS. 💜
I kind of fell off the BTS train back in 2019 for a few different reasons. I would still check out their title track MV releases but that was basically it. But when Dynamite came out I started to slowly ease my way back in to them. This song and MV reminded me how much they meant to me (they were my first kpop group in 2018). From the rap line singing, to the meaning behind the MV being about the world slowly going back to normal again, to that shot of Yoongi and Jungkook at 2:00 (I double bias them 🥰) I’m loving the retro vibes they’ve been using for their title tracks lately 💜 This instantly became a high contender for my soty this year!

I love how they incorporated sign language into the choreography. It is so wonderful they thought of their hearing impaired fans. Love it!! BTS are not only awesome artists they are wonderful caring young men.

I am definitely in love with this song. Its definitely a message saying that we couldn't do alot of things when covid was around but we don't need the permission to dance.
Color Purple = COVID. There is extra mv prior to the start of this mv. It shows Suga reading a newspaper and in the upper right hand corner is an article about the color Purple and COVID.
There is a special dance in it that is made from sign language so that the deaf can understand the meaning of the song as well. Making two hands and spreading the palms of the hands means "dancing". international sign language for fun, dance, & peace .
