But you guys have to understand; it's not the IDEA of the video that gives the audience what they want. AH has the best commentary LP I've seen. Idk why, but for every group LP that I see, they are always the funniest because of the people playing. Not because of the content. People really need to give them a break. And it's amazing, because everybody in AH has such a unique personality that brings it all together

It seemed forced at some points and as if they were just bored of the game in general. Also, I personally think the idea is a good one; ravage the world of its resources to construct the tallest Tower of Pimps? There's potential in that, especially for the AH guys; I mean, these are the guys who made building Geoff's house entertaining and hilarious. Think about that, all they're doing in that LP is either A: Mining resources. B: Smelting their resources. or C: Placing down individual blocks one by one...and for some strange reason those videos were pretty darn funny and highly entertaining to watch. It's just my opinion and in the grand scheme of things it doesn't matter; the AH guys will continue to do what they do regardless of fan feedback, which, is kinda their thing. Besides, sometimes these kind of things help them in being entertaining. Remember the whole Bullying thing? Wouldn't exist without the audience's incessant bitching. It's a two way street, my friend.

By completely ignoring the game, you're basically stomping on the developer and making money off the developer's hard work into the game. Now, ignore that, since that's irrelevant to Achievement Hunter Let's Plays, especially when in games like Minecraft, it's up to the guys to make something entertaining (that being commentating and making the video about them), but the point I'm making is that they shouldn't really be called Let's Plays, because they aren't. Since Let's Play Minecraft ended with the "The End pt.3", the 40 episodes that followed after it were basically Let's Play Minecraft Afterstory. It consists of all the adventures that Jack and Geoff left out in the original release.
Idea for a new game in Minecraft to test speed and memory of the layout of Achievement City. Everyone has a stack or two of wool blocks of their color. There is a specific list where you must go in AC within the order laid out and place your wool block on a block of obsidian. First to go in the order specified and put your colored wool down wins. Every checkpoint has to have a block on it for a valid victory and must be within the right order. Rules: 1: Geoff and Gavin can't participate in this due to knowing the layout the best. Instead they both will be leap frogging from checkpoint to checkpoint to get great camera angles. 2: Everyone gets a blank piece of paper and something to write with. This comes into play before the Minecraft Let's Play starts so it would have some real world footage. Geoff reads his cheat sheet as fast or as slow as he likes while the 4 participating has to write it down or as much as they can. This is meant to throw them off. 3: every 2 minutes you get a 30 second time period allowed to kill your opponents. You can't kill them before that 30 seconds or after. 4: This won't be for the ToP since Gavin and Geoff aren't there to compete. 5: If anyone besides Geoff or Gavin reads the list then they are DQed. No questions asked. Others can join in on this as well if you wish to fill up the roster to 6 people racing instead of 4. You could also give 3 potions of speed and 1 potion of invisibility per contestant. Pardon if it doesn't make much sense. It's basically a giant race with one another. You could call it "Tour de Achievement City" due to it being a giant race while also being a test of memory, how fast you can write and such.
That sounds like a great idea. But instead of having Geoff and Gavin being camera men, have them be bruisers. Similar to Kerry in Mad King Ryan. Geoff and Gavin run around killing anyone they see. The one lucky enough to make it to all the destinations wins. I would also say the 30 second rule only applies to the participants in the competition. (also consider adding a little bit more time for the free for all. Maybe an hour. After all, these Lets Plays are quite a bit longer than what is shown. Geoff and Gavin could kill with impunity. Also, you could make it for the ToP. Perhaps have Kerry or Lindsey running around killing people. But Geoff and Gavin might know the world a little too well for that to work. Otherwise, Great idea!!
Kenny Ashcroft That could work still. Well aside from Geoff and Gavin knowing the world. But having checkpoints in it I like since you can have them go from one half of the world to the other half and back again.
King Gavin requires a lot of free time for the guys as it'll be potentially long, Ice Cube isn't near finished and Left 4 Dead will probably never happen. This was something clearly quick and easy to record whilst they move office, and for a quick episode it's bloody good.
sheepdean Just to say, they don't move office until the 15th of April, I'm pretty sure they Cheevo hunter office is one of the last to be cleared out as it's all tech equipment and everyone is moving their own computers, That aside, yes the guys are super busy with the impending move, as they need to have extra content to put out over the moving period when they can't work in order to give us the fans something to watch. I get why people think the videos are getting dull, but I think things will pick up and get more interesting once they basically reset on Xbox One. Unless they import the map for some reason, which would be a terrible decision since they've already gutted this world.
What I don't get is why they're wasting their time with these Let's Plays when they already have pre-built ones that they haven't used yet. Like Ice Cube and Storm the Tower.
The problem with the idea of things getting more interesting with a "reset" is, yes, the world gets a reset, but they DON'T. Ray doesn't get re-energized. Geoff and Gavin don't suddenly get a hundred new let's play ideas.
I think this is my favorite let's play just because the instant ryan died he gave up and decided to do his own thing which included doing a delivery service, and then Michael and gavin followed suit.

That used to be true for sure, but the quality has been quickly declining since 70-80~. I'd rather they quit while they were ahead instead of keeping them up and ruining them even more.

GUYS I HAVE A GREAT IDEA FOR A LETS PLAY now just hear me out on this What if they did Tallest Tower X, but trust me, this version is gonna be way more interesting. The goal is the same, build the tallest tower of pimps. BUT, scattered across the map are pens of gold blocks, hidden, with traps set up around them. You'd have to figure out how to get to the gold, grab it, and not get your ass murdered on your way back to achievement city. That could be a totally cool lets play.

Pardon if it doesn't make much sense. It's basically a giant race with one another. You could call it "Tour de Achievement City" due to it being a giant race while also being a test of memory, how fast you can write and such.

That sounds like a great idea. But instead of having Geoff and Gavin being camera men, have them be bruisers. Similar to Kerry in Mad King Ryan. Geoff and Gavin run around killing anyone they see. The one lucky enough to make it to all the destinations wins. I would also say the 30 second rule only applies to the participants in the competition. (also consider adding a little bit more time for the free for all. Maybe an hour. After all, these Lets Plays are quite a bit longer than what is shown. Geoff and Gavin could kill with impunity.
Also, you could make it for the ToP. Perhaps have Kerry or Lindsey running around killing people. But Geoff and Gavin might know the world a little too well for that to work.

Ray never really did, he won only 15 times, and he got like 4 or 5 of those super early. It was mostly Jack and Ryan that keep winning

King Gavin requires a lot of free time for the guys as it'll be potentially long, Ice Cube isn't near finished and Left 4 Dead will probably never happen. This was something clearly quick and easy to record whilst they move office, and for a quick episode it's bloody good.

I get why people think the videos are getting dull, but I think things will pick up and get more interesting once they basically reset on Xbox One. Unless they import the map for some reason, which would be a terrible decision since they've already gutted this world.

What I don't get is why they're wasting their time with these Let's Plays when they already have pre-built ones that they haven't used yet. Like Ice Cube and Storm the Tower.
The problem with the idea of things getting more interesting with a "reset" is, yes, the world gets a reset, but they DON'T. Ray doesn't get re-energized. Geoff and Gavin don't suddenly get a hundred new let's play ideas.

That used to be true for sure, but the quality has been quickly declining since 70-80~. I'd rather they quit while they were ahead instead of keeping them up and ruining them even more.
If anything they are buying a bit of time for the Xbox One version, but I still get a laugh from them ^.^
And you think the XBO will magically change anything? Sure, they will get a few good LP's out of it, but the main problem is that they are getting less and less engaging with the MC LP's, and its coming across in the quality of the videos.
I think it'd be awesome if they all build their own houses for the new achievement city, in the first lets play on xbox one.

What if they did Tallest Tower X, but trust me, this version is gonna be way more interesting.
The goal is the same, build the tallest tower of pimps. BUT, scattered across the map are pens of gold blocks, hidden, with traps set up around them. You'd have to figure out how to get to the gold, grab it, and not get your ass murdered on your way back to achievement city. That could be a totally cool lets play.
I like it! And if they don't do it, I'm taking the idea. Unless you would object to me taking the idea, in that case as a Canadian I would be forced to let it go.
