Can you imagine how amazing Gossip Girl's final season would have been if they never broke up? Dan would confess to everyone that he's Gossip Girl only to be despised by all of his friends. The last scene should have been Dan in his Humphery abode drinking his sorrows away, and right when it's about to end, Blair shows up. I mean sure, Blair would probably lose Serena as a friend, Chuck as well, but I still think they should have risked it. The show had the potential to be an extraordinary love story. To me, appeasing the majority of fans is a mistake. I say if you want to tell a story, tell the one you want, not the one they want you to tell. (No offense to anyone, just the ramblings of a tired mind.)
OMG 100% I've always felt that the creators should follow natural chemistry over fan-service. It's always worked better that way. Look at Veronica Mars. Veronica and Duncan were supposed to be the couple to root for, but Logan and Veronica became the epic love and the writers ran with it. Same with Dawson's Creek, I mean for goodness sake the show was DAWSON'S Creek, but Joey and Pacey had more chemistry so they were endgame, and my absolute favorite unanticipated OTP is Nick and Adalind on Grimm. It was obvious that Juliette and Nick were intended to be the main love story on the show and Adalind was just supposed to be a guest star, but the writers recognized from Day 1 that Claire and David just worked on screen, and that their characters had a compelling on-screen dynamic that Juliette and Nick just didn't. And the Grimm example is always so interesting to me b/c David and Bitsi are married in real life and obviously have off screen chemistry, but on screen David's Nick and Claire's Adalind just worked better.

In addition to being the most complex characters in the series, I also seem the best actors. Great chemistry, great ease for comedy and for drama, in many cases the scriptwriters waste all this potential focusing on stories of super boring soap opera. The end of the series seemed very unfair to the Dan's character. Thanks for uploading this video.
I'd also like to note for people who say Dair came out of the blue that so did Monica and Chandler and the audience liked them so much the writers just ran with it. I would also like to point out that Chair also pretty much came out of the blue. They may have started already in season one, but there was no build-up AND I would also like to remind some fans that the writers originally planned a Serena/Dan/Blair love triangle already in season one. So that argument is completely moot if you ask me
Their story revolved in showing us their build up and their chemistry around each other. while the story of chuck and blair revolved around telling each other their love while not going anywhere for too long. For me, gossip girl is pretty much pointless drama with a gem in it which is dan and blair. I only sit throught the other scenes to see them and in the end it was a disaster.

I don't think I ever really understod when people said they were just like characters from a rom-com until this video. They had the screw-ball comedy down, but this video was just what I had been wanting to see. And it shows just how much they've been through, seperately and together. Ah, this is just so beautiful. So I realized her "everything we've been through together" was perfect! Because a lot happened between them during ALL the series, not only season 5 and I tried to represent it with the looks! It is funny how the looks changed the most during season 3 and not 5 (I'm rambling sorry!)
