I appreciate the calmer, documentary style nature of the video and the narration is really well done. I hope you continue to make videos like this, Artosis.
Thanks for this document step bro. I’m only 1 minute in and already know you should make more. You and Tastless are the ONLY true voices of StarCraft. Legends! Your passion gives me CHILLS!
I vividly remember watching that finals against fantasy. I was a huge JD fan at the time and it was so depressing watching him lose those first 2 games. Honestly, fantasy just looked like the better player that series and even the games JD won didn't inspire a lot of confidence because they were early/fast wins and not outplaying him in the mid or late game. The final game, game 5, was SO CLOSE and the only game I remember in it's entirety. Before the vulture drop fantasy jumped 1 vulture over the mineral patch that lead behind JD's main when JD had only 2 slow zlings....which would have been game ending but JD sent a drone or two with his zling and trapped the vulture just in time....and then the vulture drop came in just as JD's first mutas hatched and got quite a few drone kills, enough that JD had to immediately win...and he had just enough muta and scourge to kill the valk+turrets, but had JD waited even seconds he would have been hopelessly behind. I don't remember the exact time line, but I remember this as being around JD's peak and when he was feared most....like I want to say that KTF all kill that included beating flash on the final game on rush hour was right around the same time as this final....i just remember this OSL win and that KTF final happening really close to each other and everyone just thinking JD was unstoppable....and by the time that 3rd OSL final against yellow[arnc] rolled around it was a bit anticlimactic because there wasn't a single BW player on earth that thought yellow had a prayer of winning. JD was like 70% ZvZ at the time...everyone expected him to steamroll through yellow and he did just that.
As someone who has only started watching the Esports side of things in the last 5 or so years, these bits of history which give context to older players and their achievements are amazing. I hope that you continue making this type of content RT!
Dude, this is so cool. I' loooove to get more videos like this. Not only because the history is interesting, but also because of you. I couldn't imagine a better person to research and present this, as you're a part of the game's history as well.
Hey Artosis, have loved the content for far over a decade and love that you're branching out into history stuff. I get that you're new at this, but you're not speaking with the confidence and love for the game that you normally do off the cuff. I really hope you keep doing this, but I hope that the confidence you have, and the clear authority of knowing the game come through in future videos! PS: Mario sends his regards.
I really LOVE these type of videos. You have so much knowledge about starcraft, not only mechanically, but historically. I know you know many stories and anecdotes bc of your casts, so I hope you continue to make more of these videos
It's crazy that I love this game so much moreover JD is my favourite player and I was just 2 years old while he was in his prime so I could never be there to watch him winning tournements and instead I have to suffer watching him been eliminated over and over again. It's a bit sad to watch the best zerg in the history of the game unable to do anything because of his wrist. Anyway, thank you Arty, thank you for keeping the history of the game and this lengend's legacy alive
I'm not sure if Stork was considered a "heavy favorite" in the 2007 EVER OSL finals. They were both considered pretty weak at the matchup, but Stork may have had a slight edge in odds just because of his experience already.
Can you pivot to only doing docu stuff like this thanks. No honestly, this kind of content has the opportunity to do VERY well and grow you on the YT side. But what do I know
please more videos like this, more people need to know the history of brood war and appreciate it as the hardest esport of all time and the birth of all esports
Sick video, legit the best one you have ever released on this channel! Would love to see more content like this! Two small notes: 0:40: Kespa era ended in 2012 with the TVing OSL, not in 2010 when SC2 came out. Also pretty sure the video shown is from a SC2 Team house... 3:57: This is a great example of why AI Video upscaling sucks for old BW vods. This looks way worse than the original pixelated clip.
Really exciting direction for your content man, I feel like the history of broodwar deserves a lot more attention because it set the stage for so much. I hope you get to the 1000 likes asap. Thanks for being awesome.
my favorite player to watch in his peak managed to make great comebacks from impossible situations and when he has the lead he never loses legendary killer indeed
So sick, love you sharing your knowledge in this format. Exceptional storytelling of an exceptional story. So much respect. Thank you Artosis for carrying on the legacy of Starcraft.
Absolutely fantastic video. I would love to see a comparison of flash vs jaedong careers and why jaedong fell short of becoming the fifth bonjwa even though he got THIS crazy achievement.
if only you would make more gaming history videos Artosis. You got the voice to do it my dude. Doesnt just have to be SCBW, you could literally do similar stuff with other games too.
Didn't expect video like this, but it makes perfect sense. Very few people know all the stories of broodwar from being there like you do. If anything id say you should work on your storytelling skills, but the idea is perfect.
Great stuff i love the history stories of sc1 and 2. My favorite moments in the past where the times of stephano and MC. I would stay up late to watch them play finals etc.. Also remembering Maru play when he was 14 years of age he went for a fast 4 command centers build and made it work. Later he would start beating innovation. And another thing is ofcourse serral becoming the first time blizzcon world champion from outside korea. Lately the unbelievable match between serral and clem, inwhich clem was at 1/2 of the units lost vs serral.
OMFGLMAO HIS VOICE BROKE HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA Dude are you all like 6 years old? This is why being a content creator is so annoying sometimes, because you know that if even the slightest thing is off our not perfect about your work, the low-skill chimps in the audience will jump around and screech about it.
2008, Cologne. I went there for WCG to see Grubby win in WC3.He did win btw and I even exchanged a coulple of words with Cassandra, and Grubby himself. It was also the time I saw Jaedong's Muta micre. He came in, attacked, the marines played their attack animation but the Mutalisks were out of range before the Marines could hit.
This remind me of the earlier years of YT when sc content was much much more sparse, I used to watch low qual replays of JD games, im fairly certain I watched every available one back then.
Let’s reach 1000 likes if you want more videoes like this!
Such a good arc :)) Gonna share!
49 more players? With more commentators?
Intra Hour
Please keep em coming! Love this style of content
Great video! Love the structure
this was really fun to watch. brought back some great memories from a longtime Jaedong fan. THANKS ARTOSIS.
The coffee cow himself.
The glorious glizzy man
Hell yeah brother, I saw that Skt1 banner you have, knew you were a broodwar fan
Its Atrioc, omg I have chills
Okso also has a number of these types of documentaries which are a bit sharper.
It’s so cool that he beat Protoss, Terran and Zerg in each final. Making this Golden Mouse even more Epic.
So truth
Ace editing good sir, seeing all the the old Starleague Vods really does take you back to an amazing one-of-kind era
I love these mini documentary style videos. Your knowledge of history of this game is something that deserves to be shared through videos like this
I appreciate the calmer, documentary style nature of the video and the narration is really well done. I hope you continue to make videos like this, Artosis.

"And that's where the record stands today."
Perfect comment
Glad to see someone wrote this comment so I don't have to.

Flash returns on October 20th at 6pm Korean time.

Damn, i got real chills, good shit Dan. Your passion for this game really comes through in this video
Love this style of video. A quick brood war history lesson from Artosis is the best kind of video.
Awesome. Can't wait for your full documentary.
I really LOVE these type of videos. You have so much knowledge about starcraft, not only mechanically, but historically. I know you know many stories and anecdotes bc of your casts, so I hope you continue to make more of these videos
please do more of this i can smell the bangers
Love these videos! Knowledge and entertainment, and great editing

Great video Arty. I want more short documentries like this with chill narrating.
Great video. I like your historical retrospective pieces like this. Keep it up, Artie.
Reminds me of an Okso style documentary.
Thank you for not making this "whisper and pause a lot because this is deep" youtube video 45 minutes.
Awesome video!
More videos like these Arty, this was such a pleasure to watch.
Id love to hear more of these stories
Jaedong my boy!

Thanks for this video man. It brings back great memories... Jaedong, the Tyrant!

Sick video, legit the best one you have ever released on this channel! Would love to see more content like this!

More videos like these! Artosis is the best in the business when it comes to telling stories of the glory days of pro Starcraft
Really exciting direction for your content man, I feel like the history of broodwar deserves a lot more attention because it set the stage for so much. I hope you get to the 1000 likes asap.

legendary killer indeed
Holy shit, the production on this video was crazy good. More content like this PLEASE!
This felt like the kind of presentation RT would have given at school
Amazing to see JD still out there battling today at the highest level of starcraft!
So sick, love you sharing your knowledge in this format. Exceptional storytelling of an exceptional story. So much respect. Thank you Artosis for carrying on the legacy of Starcraft.
Please make more storytelling videos like this, this was a fantastic watch.
Loved this, would love something like double to triple length with more detail, great editing and story telling.
DUUUUDE !!! AWESOME !!! I love you doing documentary type videos about SC. KUDOS.
Nice change of pace, you are good narrating stories like these, GG.

Amazing storytelling.
Keep the good work.
Absolutely fantastic video. I would love to see a comparison of flash vs jaedong careers and why jaedong fell short of becoming the fifth bonjwa even though he got THIS crazy achievement.
Great great video, I wish it was longer. This could have been 1 hour long and I would have watched every second. GREAT great video.
if only you would make more gaming history videos Artosis. You got the voice to do it my dude. Doesnt just have to be SCBW, you could literally do similar stuff with other games too.
enjoyed that, even learned stuff i didnt already know
I have always been a Jaedong fan ever since I got into professional Starcraft. This was great
THE DONG is my fav SCBW player since the finals against stork, I wished so hard for him to keep performing on SC2
Jaedong and dark will always be my favorite StarCraft players
Didn't expect video like this, but it makes perfect sense. Very few people know all the stories of broodwar from being there like you do. If anything id say you should work on your storytelling skills, but the idea is perfect.
Summoning Artosis
This mini doc gave me chills, literally…
Literal chills and I'm talking whole body
As some one who watched this back in 2009 its bring all those CHILLS back.
Great stuff i love the history stories of sc1 and 2. My favorite moments in the past where the times of stephano and MC. I would stay up late to watch them play finals etc.. nothing like a good Skyrim ambient music with Artosis casting.

Yes more of these! Tell us how you invented crazy Zerg next
Good job arty. Gettin chills.

Cool video, I'd love one on the history of Julyzerg, his arc is one of the more interesting in old school BW IMO
2:23 Stork voice crack lol
OMFGLMAO HIS VOICE BROKE HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Dude are you all like 6 years old? This is why being a content creator is so annoying sometimes, because you know that if even the slightest thing is off our not perfect about your work, the low-skill chimps in the audience will jump around and screech about it.
@@NealX_Gaming Lol are you ok dude? I mentioned a voice crack and you chimped out. Also, low skill? You have mental issues dude.

absolutely great arty. i teared up a little.
Thank you for preserving this important part of history
God I want to see Jaedong reach this kind of peak again.
This I loved. More please.
Amazing video. The narration of it was great.
Intro gave me chills!
Very well put together. I'm dying to see one on my favorite player of all time.. Guillaume
Jaedong is the greatest starcraft player of all time!
Videos like this are fantastic arty
This remind me of the earlier years of YT when sc content was much much more sparse, I used to watch low qual replays of JD games, im fairly certain I watched every available one back then.
The oblivion music works well here
beautiful vid, thx artosis!
This was really fun to watch
Miss JD! Hope he wins an ASL one of these days, I think he still has one more in him. Jaedong fighting!!
Lol at the Skyrim music at the start
First they take the dinglebop, and they smooth it out with a bunch of schleem. I find it hard to get used to the format, but I love it anyway!
JD and Bisu are my man crushes
It's almost like Jaedong trained his whole life for this or something
Thank you arty. a bunch more of these for other classic players would be fun and could help promote the game. NalRa, Garimto, Savior, Boxer?
fine choice with the monument valley 2 song. what a banger ost.
