Personally, I still really love Fortnite, but I wanted to give you guys some insight on why creators will drift away from the game. Let me know what you think!
I think Fortnite is not as good as it used to be. I only have fun when I play no builds with the boys, I have a feeling next season is going to be insane though!

I think that since RUclipsrs can’t really focus on having that much fun anymore. I look back on old videos and remember laughing and wanted to do something similar with my friends. Now it seems that RUclipsrs can’t have fun doing stupid things with their friends.

Fortnite isn’t what it used to be. I understand people getting better overtime and becoming more competitive. It used to be a game where you could mess around with friends and have fun. Now it seems like you can’t have fun.

exactly, I feel like sypher doesn't want to admit that a lot of players quit because the game wasn't fun for them
If you play any game with that mindset you won't have fun. Right now Fortnite is the best it has been in a long time, we have consistent updates, a solid map, map changes, and we have zero build. Sure the loot pool isn't the best but still. If people start playing with the mindset of, "This game can be fun," then they will have more fun.
Ikr but maybe I have a solution wait for a good combat game to drop and maybe it will be like fortnite but just another game and everyone will be new and nooby

@K9JR Definitely have to take care of yourself first and foremost! You made a very valid point and if your mental health starts breaking down then so will the content, and people will always pick up on that. Try to manage both but if you need to back off a bit it’s cool, you don’t want anything horrible to happen just to pump out mediocre content. Best wishes man! Find that balance and stay healthy! 🤝

Thanks for doing a video like this. I don't personally stream or make RUclips content but I knew in my head that streaming and content creation is harder than it looks even though you have these random people on stream chat pop in and say Play with Ninja!!! In my mind it's like no, play with who you want (or don't at all) People watching shouldn't be able to control what you do in your game just because they are watching. (And yes I know streamers still need to talk to chat)
as a RUclipsr myself and as Fortnite evolves, I am getting tired of the game. I might buy a gaming PC to play GTA RP. Great video to see the behind the scenes of our lives.

Typical gamer says the best thing ever in my opinion when it comes to people trying to become a successful youtuber.. he says 3 rules:
1) Do what you love
2) Always strive to get better
3) Be consistent

I wanna talk about the part with burnout, when i started making content i was constantly working without a break, especially in the gaming content part of youtube it got to a point where i was just stressed 24/7 i could never think of new ideas so i constantly kept quitting and coming back switching games i play, it damaged my channel beyond saving i never grew or had much of an audience and still today it isn't good, but i found something i enjoy a lot which was music so i now im passionate about what im doing now
This just made my respect for sypher sky rocket I just love how he can talk to his community and say hey this is why RUclipsrs are quitting

Great video. You are absolutely right when you say the uploads become part of people’s routine and escape. I have a serious job, I’m much older than the regular subscribers (I would imagine). These videos are my mental breaks during the day, a chance to grab a coffee, throw some headphones on and stop thinking about work for 10-15 minutes. I appreciate the job you and others do.

I think that these kind of controversial videos that talk about sensitive topics are really good. Tbh, I like these more than fn vids cuz they give more insight of what would happen if we suddenly went back to chapter 1, or if you tried to become a RUclipsr with the ups and downs. These are also some good informational videos. Keep up the good work man!
I can relate with all of this, I have a small channel I love but it’s fucked me up. I can’t sleep, have no time for friends and struggle to upload now so I don’t ever blame people who take a break or quit.

This is such a well spoken video all the points are realistic I’m so glad that I still always am hyped for the next season of every fortnite season.

I've always connected with Sypher and honestly I remember waking up Chapter 1 season 5 and there was Sypher playing the game we all love and doing an educational commentary which i wish he did more of but let's be honest most people dont need it but i still would like to hear what hoes through his head during a match and he kept the game alive mid to late chapter 2

This guy does the same thing over and over again, im stumped that he has followers.
His friends ( finger air quotes) do fashion show that all so happen to be at the same time as each other, and sypher pretends he sneaking into their fashion show. This is non-sense as the fact is you can see everyones name in creative matches.
So im just trying to help you out, ali a and tabor hill are good youtubers.
I really like this video. One of the reasons I choose to watch your channel daily, is because I can tell, that yo do some heavy introspection and see the way you are doing things, you are not just in pilot mode grinding videos, but trying to grow and contribute something different/worthy to the community. I'm possible not as young as many fellows around here (28), and can identify myself with many of the topics you are mentioning. You´ve definetely came a long way and have a lot of success and that shows not only, in the large audience of this channel, but also how big your other channels got overtime, even including a dog related one that has nothing to do with your niche. I guess what Im trying to say is, I see the grind, i see the effort and I see the rewards of all your hard work, and in a way that inspires me to keep going in my daily life and in my job as well. I hope you continue in this path, and keep doing what makes you happy and sharing it with us. Thanks for reading!

Well explained Sypher, at the end of the day we all need to take a break from the things that we grind for because its important and realise if we're feeling well or not doing this for too long and what the circumstances and consequences will be. Trying to find a balance between your personal life and you're RUclips career is the best way to manage both of them.

It's easy for a youtuber to get burned out, especially if they are uploading every day and it really doesn't have alot to do with them liking the game but when u mix work with pleasure then something u like can easily just become a job

I quit fortnite cuz like that old vibe of early chapter 2 when me and the bois were landing at the agency and the grotto, and the first day of chapter 2 season 3. Those old vibes will always hold a place in my heart, but in my opinion these vibes aren't the same as the old ones...

This is very realistic and true what creators are going through in their lives and honestly shows how much dedication is out towards fortnite and anything in general, at the beginning I was going to watch fresh without realizing his break of 2 months, but your words of why that may be the case helps sypher 🙏

I think another reason that people don’t talk about is when you are now starting being a RUclipsr, even though u may be demotivated, you still know to yourself that this is what u want to do so u keep grinding
Now when u become a big RUclipsr, and you get demotivated, you typically stop creating content and blame it on mental health (which is a big real issue)
But the money you earned while being a big RUclipsr, is enough motivation to not want to continue creating content because some people feel like they accomplished life
So they ultimately retire

I’ve played since the beginning of Fortnite, but just started with serious content creation and streaming. It’s so much fun, but way more time consuming than I thought. I would love to be successful enough to quit my day job and focus on content all day, but I’m just having fun now. You’re a big inspiration, keep up the great work!

This video is so true. I jus feel so demotivated when i compete with other channels and do not get the same amount of subs. This caused many burnouts for me like sypher pointed out in the video. Sometimes its jus been because of my studies but other times i just felt lazy or dint want to upload more vids. When ur getting the views and a lotta subs its motivating for sure, but its hard to keep urself motivated once ur viewership starts to fall as sypher also pointed out. This type of content is so necessary for budding creators. I don't think most people know how much time and energy go into your "job". And it is a job, so it's not always fun.
A lot of this advice can apply to other careers as well. Great video 👍🏼
If you feel like you can’t do much personal stuff without youtube then make a blog so you accept the invites etc, and blog them without really much effort put into the video which might not do aswell but it is better then nothing to stay on the grind

I feel like it’s hard to do a good fortnite challenge these days because of all the sweats and editing people. Doing any meme challenge is always ruined by sweats wanting kills. I hate always just seeing people build ramps and cones and edit like a mad man. Being a content creator must be a really difficult job. Props to all the content creators out there!

I just came here to say how proud I am. I use to watch your videos back when you were the best PvPer on ESO. To go from a game like that to Fortnite, and being just as good if not better at it, takes talent and consistency that I have never seen from other gamers. I looked you up for the first time in years just to see what you were up to these days, and seeing you approaching 6 million subs now blew my mind. People still fear and impersonate you on Elder Scrolls to this day lol Congrats bro, you deserve all the accolades
Fortnite has changed too much. The game itself has improved but the environment and players have gotten worse. The content and updates and stuff of the game has been improving over the last year or so probably, however the game has gotten so much more toxic sweaty and competitive so unless you love that stuff the game hurts. It’s gone from a video GAME into a video COMPETITION. The game doesn’t focus on fun like it used to, or at least the players don’t. It doesn’t matter how good the game is what matters is the players and community, which has gone from wholesome and fun to toxic and sweaty. If the game moves back into a focus on fun the game can become good for everyone again, content creators especially.
Too many wrong or unnecessary changes in Fortnite , sweaty players , toxic community and greedy Epic Games = chaos
the game has tried to make a focus on fun but (most) players refuse to let it be that way. They nerfed the pump so you don't get instakilled? players say every shotgun sucks despite the fact you can still pump someone to where they are now on super low hp. They add things with a higher ttk? players say they are too op (looking at you charge smg, because despite you taking 4 seconds to charge up you still are overpowered compared to the rapid fire or the minigun apparently). Like people were complaining about the tanks but they weren't even that strong either compared to actually overpowered things like mechs or mythic rarity smgs. People will simply find something to complain about no matter what.
@@ChibiOnVR Exactly. There are some things worthy of complaints like Brutes but people aren’t thinking about the fun aspect of things. Tanks were amazing and I had a lot of fun with them but people said they were op when they had at least 7 weak spots of some point to disable the thing. Once the sweaty kids find something they can’t just crank on and kill instantly they say it’s op.
@@DergyDauog even mechs were counterable in their prime (at least in solos). All you had to do was build a ramp so the mech is away from the ground, and then jump off when he shoots the missiles and you will avoid them and their splash damage.
You also have the benefit of jumping in the mech and instantly self destructing it in solos, and I actually killed players because they DID not expect someone to actually be good at fighting mechs using their own self destruct feature.
@@ChibiOnVR They we’re counterable if it was you vs the mech. Getting third partied by a mech was a death sentence before the nerf to the amount of missiles. It’s stupid how complainy people were after they nerfed the missile count and added the laser. They weren’t that bad after that because they didn’t insta kill without you knowing one was behind you.

VERY GOOD VIDEO! I completely understand. Personally, the way I see it is this: RUclips is not a main career. It is a hobby. If it makes you a living, great. If not, oh well, it's at least a hobby. Don't let people pressure you to upload more often than you want to. I haven't posted a video in months on my main channel because I haven't felt motivated. In the past, I was constantly stressed about what my audience would think if I didn't upload consistently. But now I just don't care, and will only post when I want to. Quality over quantity, always.
