It's because of the price market on these machines. It doesn't matter what manufacturer you decide to buy. The price is steep. The Rangers only grabbed my attention is because of the actual design of the machine. The Polaris CVT system and 4x4 has always pissed me off.

Just picked up my brand new Ranger Crew 1000XP Northstar. Love it. I asked for the manual windows though, i see those electric windows breaking easily.
Take it back while you can. I have fixed so much on those its unreal. New front diffs in less than 2000kms. Overheating! The massive long driveshaft has a steady bearing that always wears out. Its gonna shake like crazy. Very expensive mistake buddy. Go buy a Yamaha Rmax 4 seater. Way better
Wait till its time to change a simple broke axles and its sized up and polaris charges you for a whole new diff and 2 new axles lol. Be a fun 1500$+ fix. Drive trains weak af, there axles suck the u joints wear out on the drive lines and shake.
It makes sense to have something you can use around the property and is legal to take down the trails which is why we ended up with a wolverine x2. However, I am not under the impression that it will take over tasks that are done better with a tractor or pickup. If they feel the belt drive can handle those bales on a regular basis or pull implements then that is impressive but I would think those kubota utv's with hydraulic drive are better suited for utility work. To be honest for our work on our 5 acres I tend to use one of our honda ATV's pulling a small 5x8 trailer more than the side by side. Not a fan of CVT and the drone you get inside the cab and its easier to get on / off quickly with the atv. For the price of a loaded UTV you can buy descent used cab tractor with a loader. There is no doubt the UTVs can be fun and useful for work but there is also a point when you need to move up from hobby/toy grade equipment.
These things are cool and would love one but I can't afford to spend over 15 thousand and up basically for a decent one when I can buy some new cars for that price maybe if I was rich

For the just go buy a truck peps, there is no comparison. I have a family farm that is some parts flat some hilly some woods some cleared some days really wet. We have a f150 single cab 4x4, f250 diesel crew 4x4, Polaris ranger crew 1000. The f250 handles getting everything to and from farm but sinks in mud. F150 handles everything on farm that’s flat but sinks in mud. The Ranger goes where I want on farm when I want no matter the weather. Never gets stuck. Take a truck on a 25 degree hillside in the rain hauling hay to feed cattle...it gets stuck...Ranger chews it up.
My North Star limited was $32,000.00. I have a four door unit. The cab leaks, the transmission jumps out of gear and the inside is small compared to my Can Am Defender. Well bring it to your local dealer and they can fix it. All local dealers tell me bring it in and we will get to it in a couple of weeks. I use this every day on the farm. I think Polaris needs to offer loaners. This is my 4th Ranger.
I have put new transmissions in those already. Reverse breaks ! Also leaks water where the cvt cover is. Wrecks the clutches and Polaris are ducking out of warranty with it.
I really like the xp, but for what little land I have, the premium ranger will fit my usage and budget perfectly. Really cool stuff! Can’t wait to be a owner.
My SXS story, back in 2016 the RZR turbo came out. I come from a motocross background. I just had to have this new rzr. So I got it. It is pretty fun. Not as adrenaline producing as a true mx machine. So then in 2018 I had a chance to buy a ranger crew 900 for a good price. After getting the ranger the rzr stays parked about 90% of the time. I use the ranger almost anytime I need a sxs.
Thinking of upgrading we now have a Ranger 500. It's a great machine but Inside the cab is so loud and we use it all the time. I'm struggling with the price, we just bought a 2020 new Toyota Rav4 XLE AWD for 2k more. How can they justify this price?
If you want to do a “mini-truck” video you should come check out the Toro Workman we have at work. They are golf cart sized and will haul or tow 3500 lbs EASY... Last week I had 160 x 50lb bags of mulch in the bed and trailer and went up some steep grades. It is a 2020 4wd diesel with hi and lo manual 3 speed trans, manual rear locking diff, multiple hydraulic banks, and multiple attachments.
If you need a work vehicle there is no comparison to to a Kubota RTV. They last thousands of hours of constant hard work maxing it out daily all day with regular maintenance. They are just not as good for off roading other wise they are superior in everyway.

I haven't seen any manufacturer create an articulating machine yet. Has anyone else? I think it would be kind of cool to have that capability in a utility S×S eh? Maybe it could "break/articulate" in the mid-frame, at low speeds, and lock-up straight when you get going? Has anyone seen one in a S×S, not a quad, a side by side?
My wife and I have trucks, jeeps and 4 wheelers. But, we ride our Polaris Ranger the most by far. We’re thinking about getting a Polaris General as well for the mud trails we go on.
Nobody has been able to answer this, why do some of them have the muffler on the back and some the side? It’s not model specific because I’ve seen crew cabs and 3 seaters with both configurations. I’ve seen regular 1000 both configurations and I’ve seen all variants of the xp1000 with both configurations. At first I just thought the highlighter and back woods model had rear mufflers because of the snorkels but I’ve seen all variants with side or rear muffler...
Started putting it on rear with north star units because a/c caponits are on the side of the engine where muffler is one regular model. Dont know why they carried it over to highlifter and backwoods type models but left it on the side for regular models.

SMH. And why are they making you wear a helmet putting down their pre made course at less than 5 MPH? lol This "truck" as you call it, is not thrashing you about in the cab. lol Nathan in his Samurai needed a helmet more than this test showed. :P

Dealer here won't even stock base models. Cheapest they have is around 25 grand up to almost 40 grand. That's where they make money, from the rich. If you want a base model you special order and wait.

Hundreds of people called polaris to tell them their polaris started on fire. Polaris ignored the calls. Now they are paying out million in death and burn lawsuits.
Because it can go places a truck can't go. You won't understand until you own one. Rarely does a day go by that our Defender isn't used. In our state you can license it for the road, so it also is used for local errands and exploring back roads.

sure you can search for polaris settlements. Polaris hit with $27.25 million penalty for failing to report vehicle starting on fire. Pretty good evidence that polaris owners lives don't matter. little concerning as they took away a polaris dealership from a dealer for making a comment on black lives matter. I think all lives matter. people have been severely burned and killed. polaris owner were calling polaris to tell there polaris vehicle had started on fire. The government fined them 27 million for doing absolutely nothing about it. That is just the fine from the government. polaris is expected to pay out millions more for deaths' and injuries. I learned all this after buying a new polaris northstar with air-conditioning which does not work in warm climate areas. Polaris never tried to fix it even on warranty. Just sent me email stating it does not really work like a car air-conditioning system. Even thou the brochure and commercial video states it does. you can watch my video. I have been buying polaris atv utv for over 20 years. My family and I can only use our northstar for 4 months out of the year in arizona. As it is to hot .

This is absolutely not true. I bought a northstar for my family to enjoy the arizona desert in the summer. The air-conditioning system does not work in hot areas. Watch my video. Polaris ripped my family off. But no one died in a fire. So guess we were lucky to only get ripped off by polaris.
polaris keeps our shop running. see more polaris then an other vehicle. they have so many issues and the drive train is so weak its unreal. we eve have several in our riding group and its always the polaris holding us up getting pulled back.
Total shite aren't they. I worked at the dealership and they're hosing people. Lying to people and running up huge bills. Dishonest and a terrible product.
@@billythekid7237 transmission failures being gears fail, chain breaks and bearing sieze. engine main bearing sieze i have replaced tons and tons of engines and trans usualy several a week. only take an hour and a half to pull a polaris trans lol. but mostly trans an engine and power trains issues. there drive shaft runs from the rear all the way to the front i see u joint and carrier bearings fail often bad design it runs the entire length of the vechle an wear the bearings and u joints out fast.
@@billythekid7237 not to mentio9n if you have to change a polaris axles they sit dry in the diff and you will be beating for hours sometimes its so bad polaris will pull the whole diff and both axles and force you to pay for new ones lol i just charge ya 2 extra hrs labor each when that happens
@@billythekid7237 honda is the most reliable, easiest and cheapest brand to work. i have a honda pioneer on 36s over 4kmiles it stays in mud/swamps i can drive up a 90% incline im so low geared iv never broke anything but an axle. i pull my bosses 2019 ranger and 2014 razor back almost every single ride. and i ripped his frame in half pullin him out last ride and ripped a ball join mount off. now my honda power train is all beefed up besides stock axles i got 2k mile before i broke the first one on 36s. i have had 0 engine issues 0 trans and 0 differential problems. my 2019 can am xmr is an issue each and every ride to the point i dont even ride it anymore. polaris is designed to break trhats where they make there money at least there very easy to work on so is honda. can am is the hardest to work on pain in the ass. can am has realllly good engines vut bad rear ends and sometimes there trans like to pop. polaris is the most popular choice of ride so that is why i see them more then any other brand.

@@brianhill4995 just basic servicing is needed the only times i really needed the warranty was for a broken shift knob and reverse chain but nothing else other than that a great daily driver with little issues.
What an absolute waste of money! Get an old Jeep, or anything else that still drives on-road and can go off-road, even a little bit. It will be way more robust, safer, cheaper, and more practical.

The EV is really small, its a 2 seater, way less capable. Its designed more for college campuses and other types of light duty applications

sure you can search for polaris settlements. Polaris hit with $27.25 million penalty for failing to report vehicle starting on fire. Pretty good evidence that polaris owners lives don't matter. little concerning as they took away a polaris dealership from a dealer for making a comment on black lives matter. I think all lives matter.
people have been severely burned and killed. polaris owner were calling polaris to tell there polaris vehicle had started on fire. The government fined them 27 million for doing absolutely nothing about it. That is just the fine from the government. polaris is expected to pay out millions more for deaths' and injuries. I learned all this after buying a new polaris northstar with air-conditioning which does not work in warm climate areas. Polaris never tried to fix it even on warranty. Just sent me email stating it does not really work like a car air-conditioning system. Even thou the brochure and commercial video states it does. you can watch my video. I have been buying polaris atv utv for over 20 years. My family and I can only use our northstar for 4 months out of the year in arizona. As it is to hot .

This is absolutely not true. I bought a northstar for my family to enjoy the arizona desert in the summer. The air-conditioning system does not work in hot areas. Watch my video. Polaris ripped my family off. But no one died in a fire. So guess we were lucky to only get ripped off by polaris.

bed is too small. I can get a 4x4 japanese mini truck with a larger bed and road legal. You just need to find good DOT approved atv tires for them.
polaris keeps our shop running. see more polaris then an other vehicle. they have so many issues and the drive train is so weak its unreal. we eve have several in our riding group and its always the polaris holding us up getting pulled back.
Total shite aren't they. I worked at the dealership and they're hosing people. Lying to people and running up huge bills. Dishonest and a terrible product.

@@billythekid7237 transmission failures being gears fail, chain breaks and bearing sieze. engine main bearing sieze i have replaced tons and tons of engines and trans usualy several a week. only take an hour and a half to pull a polaris trans lol. but mostly trans an engine and power trains issues. there drive shaft runs from the rear all the way to the front i see u joint and carrier bearings fail often bad design it runs the entire length of the vechle an wear the bearings and u joints out fast.
@@billythekid7237 not to mentio9n if you have to change a polaris axles they sit dry in the diff and you will be beating for hours sometimes its so bad polaris will pull the whole diff and both axles and force you to pay for new ones lol i just charge ya 2 extra hrs labor each when that happens
@@billythekid7237 honda is the most reliable, easiest and cheapest brand to work. i have a honda pioneer on 36s over 4kmiles it stays in mud/swamps i can drive up a 90% incline im so low geared iv never broke anything but an axle. i pull my bosses 2019 ranger and 2014 razor back almost every single ride. and i ripped his frame in half pullin him out last ride and ripped a ball join mount off. now my honda power train is all beefed up besides stock axles i got 2k mile before i broke the first one on 36s. i have had 0 engine issues 0 trans and 0 differential problems. my 2019 can am xmr is an issue each and every ride to the point i dont even ride it anymore. polaris is designed to break trhats where they make there money at least there very easy to work on so is honda. can am is the hardest to work on pain in the ass. can am has realllly good engines vut bad rear ends and sometimes there trans like to pop. polaris is the most popular choice of ride so that is why i see them more then any other brand.

@@doommmmmmm yep! they are very high maintenance machines everything wears out or breaks. I know everyone’s name at the dealer when I had my warranty. Fun times🤑
@@brianhill4995 just basic servicing is needed the only times i really needed the warranty was for a broken shift knob and reverse chain but nothing else other than that a great daily driver with little issues.

What an absolute waste of money! Get an old Jeep, or anything else that still drives on-road and can go off-road, even a little bit. It will be way more robust, safer, cheaper, and more practical.

Okay name a side by side that the motor or transmission can last over 400k miles like my 2003 Toyota Tundra 3.4 that costed me $2000 dollars Not over $20.000 or $30.000 . I own 2 side by sides 2019 Polaris RS1 1000cc and a 2013 wildcat 1000x . I love my side by sides but 10k mikes on a side by side is like 200k miles on a car or truck. Way to overpriced. Ridiculous.
