This is a painful skit to watch because of how close it hits to reality. There is another skit they did about bullying where they dropped a thesis on the subject matter but in an entertaining way. The best I've seen though is 'Acapella'. someone should give them an award already, or better make one up to give them. The genius of these guys must be fully appreciated.
"Acapella" is my favorite, too. And "I Said (look around) B-tch!" There WAS an article about them in The New Yorker about a year ago. www.newyorker.com/culture/culture-desk/so-long-lcarpetron-its-been-real-key-peele I was hoping that would be a springboard, and we would be seeing more soon. But I haven't seen them in anything new lately.
Ay Kaytee Yeah they did. The reason I said its not close to reality is because they described the police as racially profiling killing machines. The reason those blacks were shot is because the officer had the right to.
OK . . . you tryin' to get WAY off track into a debate about how "close to reality" this CLEARLY satirical, silly, farcical sketch is to some individual "real" situations (each of which have/had their own set of facts, actions, reactions, and motivations). We're not talking about all that. Now seriously, STFU . . . can a n- finish a song??? I mean, CAN . . . A . . . N- . . . FINISH? LOL!
The guy in all green strolling through every scene is a whole mood 😂😂😂 Legit, Key and Peele know how to tap into some real life stuff black people go through. Absolute genius 😎👏🏽
I think Key and Peele have the right idea. You see, there's always going to be racism. Whites hating blacks, blacks hating whites, and everyone else hating everyone else in between. But, Key and Peele are doing things that kind of break the racism. They laugh. Laugh at it. That's what we all need to do. Instead of getting mad at specifically another race and blaming them for your races problems, why don't you make a joke out of it? It'll make the experience of life a hell of a lot more fun.
YOMAMA1833 Thank you for ruining this amazing video. What an idiotic thing to say. do you know anything about history so say such dribble. Racism is a system of oppression that was created for economic gain. We are not blaming white for our problems we are asking to be treated as human beings.
Grueso c he really is. He shines the on subjects that make white people uncomfortable while still being entertaining and watchable... except for Twilight Zone, I dont know what the hell happened there.
@@hexkwondo none of his projects make me uncomfortable. the only people made uncomfortable are people who suffer from white guilt. Get Out is a great movie that is not even a plausible reality; this song is catchy as fuck but lacks a touch if self-awareness as there are things the black community could be doing to improve their appearance in the public eye, it's not a one way street; and I haven't actually seen Us yet, but I've seen the Film Theory and EWW episodes about it so I understand the gist and there is nothing about that movie that would make any reasonable person uncomfortable. Peele is undeniably a super creative motherfucker, but he's not a genius. he's the Kojima of film
Red Hoodie so black people should be working on “improving their image in the public eye....” but not the community that owned human beings for 200 years and saw nothing wrong with it? Not the one that okayed the interment of Japanese people and toyed with eugenics for a spell? Interesting.
One of the quickest high to low emotions I've ever experienced while watching a comedy sketch, even though I saw the end coming--it's horrifyingly hilarious. And then one of the top RUclips comments says "So how come there aren't any black African countries with cities/towns like this." WTF? Do you read? Do you have a passport? Are you historically literate? Ever heard of Lagos or Abuja, Nigeria? (Or any other major city in the continent that doesn't treat blackness as non human subject) This person, by this statement alone, perhaps haven't laid a foot inside the African continent--A continent of 54 countries.. You get people who comment under these videos, some for nonsensical tit for tat, others just to troll and be proud of their ignorance--that's perhaps even sadder than the ending of the video. lol SMH
Wilkine Brutus Hey :) That was my comment. I was in Egypt for 2 weeks in Feb and I've been to Morocco more than a few times. How often do you visit the continent? Aside from that, can I ask why you found the comment to be offensive. You could have written a reply stating sources and historical fact but instead you write a separate comment with insults and assumptions.
'The American Society of Magical Negroes', based loosely on a K&P skit, was a huge hit. I'm sure that an adaptation of this skit will do great to. Make it Hollywood.
Reason that it was depressing for me is that it's the only skit where they implicitly show black victimhood bias. Cops aren't looking for black people, it's just sad that an echo is still around from segregatory times. That echo is that black people have had no family wealth to sit on before those times, so wealth is disproportionate now. Cops are in poorer areas more because that's where the desperate people are. Blacks are poorer than whites right now and that is the main reason there is this belief in cops being racist subconsciously. Even if a cop was racist he would still do anything to not show that fact to the rest of the police force because believe it or not, most people in USA aren't racist anymore. Little to no chance that the police force has something inherently racist about its training methods. The other argument is that whites are inherently racist to blacks which is just ludicrous. I grew up in a country where people worship black culture, i understand that doesn't make them not racist but it's a pretty damn good sign times have changed and it wasn't something inherently wrong with the white gene. I love Keegan & Peele but this one really made their motives transparent politically, which i dislike in comedy and i find obnoxious. That's why i can't watch the daily show and shows like that (even though im around the centre and like political debates on both sides) it's just too self righteous for me to find funny.
Keegs I agree with alot of what you said but you also have to realize the other reason cops are more prone to being scared/suspicious of black people is becuase they dont live around them/ know them very well so they are uncomfortable around them and therefore more cautious ie. Will shoot or become aggressive under much less stress. Also black people in bad areas do not like cops becuase of the excessive amount of bad experiences with them and also in thier eyes cops dont do anything for them becuase people in these bad areas are murdered, stolen from, raped etc all the time without any police intervention. It is really a cycle that feeds into itself. White people get the bad rap because you are the majority of the people in the USA, which means you are the 'typical cop' or 'typical citizen'. But essentially black victimhood IS a thing, but it is due to a lack of integration with diffrent cultures and as you said, a lack of economic stability in black people rather than rascism or cops deliberately hunting down blacks. Also keep in mind that these areas where all this black crime comes from is located in relatively small hotspots in inner cities, (where most the black people in the USA live) so there is not alot of room for black people to just 'mind thier own buisness' without being bothered by law enforcement. Think about all the dumb shit a 19-year-old white male does in his lifetime. Think.... Think.... Now make him black. That's right. He will probably get 2/5 of the chances the white male has to learn from his mistakes. How? Becuase he is a black male, the consequences of prolonged bad behavior is not counseling... its not getting kicked out.. its most likely death. Most likely killed in a gang environment becuase what the hell else is a 19-year-old black male gonna do? I'll wait. Again not an exuse. Just another reason behind the fervent disdain for police officers in black inner-city areas. You ever hear black people from bad areas talk bad about the government and authorities? Alot of the time an injured person will die long before before an ambulance even arrives on the scene they take so long. This is one of the many issues we face. It's like: We can't actually help you, but we are more than happy to shoot you dead. You were probably a criminal anyway. You will get a crowd funded memorial and prayed about just like the other 100,000 's of dead black men. Then every one will add you to the kill count and forget you. Put yourself in those shoes. Just for a day. I'll shut up after this, but also the US does not worship black culture. The US worships hip hop and rap. Those are not the entirety of black culture and im pretty disappointed if you believed that.
@@JaredJack91 how was it untrue? There was nothing factual in the video that said anything about blacks being a statistic of discrimination. Eek, what an overachiever. Just let us live our lives, we built this country and we deserve to be treated better.
+NoFapZone if you think segregation is better than right now, honey i hope you learn soon. just because the media tells you it's awful for blacks doesn't mean it is. just visit the department of justice or fbi websites, and you can see the truth. blacks aren't targeted by police officers or whites in general. go back to segregation times.. yeah they were. i almost don't know how to even have this conversation, i'm just disappointed that you would rather set the clock back on race relations 60 years than live in the world we live in today.
+NoFapZone The only thing that was wrong with segregation was that blacks got all of the crappy stuff and when we started doing better than whites, they destroyed what we had. If segregation were still going on but nothing of ours had been destroyed, we'd be set. We wouldn't have to worry about the white supremacists because they wouldn't be able to oppress us systematically due to us having our own system.
Jason Durlo yea when an entire race of people were refered to as lesser and women were made 1 demential ( the only women part was describeing how they like only 1 thing black men). no how about the fake issues that dont effect ppl who dont venerate theives drug dealers and murders ect( the part that had the group being called a gang)
I was lowkey confused and thought that was it but I just needed conformation because I thought I was just insanely racist lol thanks for the confirmation lol
"Hanging out in a group doesn't make you a gang. Every word that you say ain't considered slang." There was something about this line that really twists the knife for me. I guess it's just a little too honest to my own life experiences.
@@jdsmith542 of course there are. But me using slang or shortening words doesn't mean I'm in a gang or I'm reppin colors. I don't feel I should be lumped in with a gang solely because of the way I talk

This isn't close to reality at all.
VM D It's a parody, but the themes (police brutality, racial profiling etc) touched upon do happen in reality.
I mean, CAN . . . A . . . N- . . . FINISH? LOL!

You get people who comment under these videos, some for nonsensical tit for tat, others just to troll and be proud of their ignorance--that's perhaps even sadder than the ending of the video. lol SMH

Aside from that, can I ask why you found the comment to be offensive. You could have written a reply stating sources and historical fact but instead you write a separate comment with insults and assumptions.

Negrotown?
*Detroit*: Am I a joke to you?
Uhm Chicago Atlanta
This video was actually depressing
Trassh yeah
Good thing it's not realistic
James Washington Thank you!!!!!!
This is the saddest Key & Peele episode

I wish we was still living in segregation. I don't care about drinking from the white people's water fountain
+NoFapZone real shit
